Notice I split this thread from the "Pirates steal tanks" thread. I hope no one minds but there was significant thread drift and I really wanted to see how this process works. Pretty painless for the most part. - Kato13

You all probably already know this but anyway, "been bush" is Aussie slang for having been out in a wilderness area. The term "outback" is similar but basically refers to anywhere in the warmer parts of Australia well away from the cities, with a more rural than wilderness connotation. "Bush" generally refers to wild country rather than rural. KC's State, South Australia and the State where MajorPo and I live, Western Australia, both have vast stretches of "bush" and KC and I have both spent a fair bit of time "in the bush".

I actually knew that slang, but deliberately put my mind in the gutter anyway...

Yeah I thought you knew Paul. Anyway, you live in Texas which has a lot of terrain I think I could relate to and you were a soldier so I bet you've spent a lot of time "in the bush" too eh? Heh heh.

HQ they are Australians, not Corsicans. For Corsicans that is the "Maquis", not the Bush:D . Some people have been hiding there for years. Yvan Colonna who participated in the killing of prefect Erignac hided there for 4 years before being captured (1999-2003).

This makes me remember that, a year ago, I tried to watch the australian TV serie "ANZACS". In original version. I left it in the third episode... I was able to undestand only about 50% of the dialog... Always when Paul Hogan was not speaking, of course. The part I was not able to understand was plenty of bushes, too.:o

On this occasion, Bush = Arkaroola.

Thats the "bush." It looks a hell of a lot like down the road from where I live in S. Cal.

It looks like the mountains near Newberry or Calico here in California, or Joshua Tree further south. And these guys say its flatter, oh that must be nice to walk on. |
Thread split notice.

I am not sure how often I will do this but if anyone thinks it is annoying or has any comments or complaints let me know. |

From footage and photos I've seen of Texas and New Mexico I very much agree with Paul's post. My mum was roaming around California recently and she did mention that some parts of that State reminded her of parts of Australia. |

Exactly,
We can start a new topic from the drift, but we can retain and continue the original topic, so its a win win in my view. |
