I draw the line at charging into combat with my wedding tackle swinging in the breeze, with the exception of members of Scottish units that have kilts as part of their uniform. But even they gain some protection from a couple of layers of sturdily woven wool and a sporran (unless they step on a land mine, then they lose both the bag and the pipe
