We know for a fact that in canon the US Government has cryo technology. They froze the Snake Eaters.
With that said there would very likely be several freeze bunkers where people in the chain of succession would be taken and frozen to be in a more survivable state. This will not be whoever is the current President and perhaps would not include the
n deck" hitter either. It might be X=2 and down the line.

Depending upon what is happening and who is alive and who is still in communications with who things will be very murky.
I'm not certain how a thawed out person would be able to verify their identity to the satisfaction of Damocles or the Snake Eaters.
