Considering the fun of introducing team members to living off the land, here are a couple of resources on how to preserve and cook 18th century food. The book "Feeding Nelson's Navy" by Janet MacDonald not only gives insight into the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars, but includes tips on preserving meat, soup and ship's biscuit, but several interesting recipes to try out.

On YouTube, try the series "18th Century Cooking" you can watch many of these same menus being prepared.
