LCAC 90 is a Landing Craft Air Cushion ship, built in 1997 as the 90th ship of its class
The Olifant that the South Africans are providing is the Mk1A version - the most up to date version at the time was the Mk1B which they aren't willing to give in trade to the US
When Jason was sent she had several 40mm mounts as well as 50 cal machine guns that she was armed with - they didn't mount the 5 inch guns before she sailed
