Default [Conversion]T2K (any edition)

I've scoured around but can't find a conversion system for using T2K. Are there are any out there or do people generally wing it? I'd like to try to get an MP game going but prefer the T2K ruleset.

How much conversion do you need?

I've not seen the 2013 rules but, if you want to use T2K rules (aka the GDW "House System") then Dark Conspiracy and Traveller:TNE should give you most of what you need

I have 1.0, 2.0, 2.2 and Dark Conspiracy. Just wondering if anyone has converted the MP training, additional skills, added elements (science, rebuilding etc) and vehicle information.

I can do it myself but was wondering if anyone could give me a headstart.

I'm using 2.2 and DC. Mostly 2.2, though... I have the characters made up using an appropriate background, and the "War Term" is the MP's specialised training. MP does not specifically train specialists - they recruit them and give them some military-type training.

Hey Owen,

I’ve been drooling over your campaign page the past few days, nice stuff! I also noticed that your character sheets were pretty clearly using DC/TK. I also saw your post a few months back and like the “War Term” idea. A few questions…

CHARACTER GENERATION
I was planning on starting all characters as follows-
-(1) Required Educational Term (BS, Technical School etc.)
-d6 Term dice (roll under equals War Term)
(any combination of appropriate careers)

I want to make sure that I don’t end up with a bunch of ex-SEALS so was planning on coming up with some idea/bonus for civilian occupations. Like you, I want the characters to be engineers, scientists etc with military training from MP. Although military experience would be helpful for many careers.

MP TRAINING/WAR TERM
I figured the first six months are general MP training and came up with this package…
Small Arms
Unarmed Martial Arts
Drive Ground (Wheeled)
Survival/or/Observation
Instruction/or/Navigation
General Project Knowledge
Recovery Skills (any one)

SPECIFIC RECON TRAINING
What skill packages per Position did you use for a Recon Team?

NEW SKILLS
I also decided to expand the T2K skill list with the following…

-Recovery Skills (as per MP)

New Skill Possibilities
ACT/BLUFF/DECEIVE(?)
BARGAIN
CONCEALMENT
WATERCRAFT (Large OR Small)
CARTOGRAPHY(?)
COMMUNICATIONS/SIGNALS
-This skill is for maintenance and setting up of complicated systems, satellite dishes etc. GENERAL PROJECT KNOWLEDGE
-Morrow Project knowledge.
LABORATORY/RESEARCH
-Separate skills?
PSYCHOLOGY
RECON
-Used for assessing equipment, training, strength etc.
STALKING (Dark Conspiracy)(?)

New Degree Skills
AGRICULTURE (?)
ARCHAEOLOGY
ASTRONOMY
COMPUTER SCIENCE
ECONOMICS
PSYCHOLOGY
FORENSICS
FORESTRY
HISTORY
LINGUISTICS
PHARMACY
PHYSICS
VETERINARY MEDICINE
ZOOLOGY

Any thoughts?
