I went with standard armament to ease ammunition and training purposes. My idea, however, is for a more permanent base than a bolthole. It's going to be the center of the team's operations and so has a bit more capacity as an armoury. I also have my freeze date as 2007. But, for a 6 person team, I decided on...
(12) XM-8 (HK G36 variant) (5.56mm) ----http://world.guns.ru/assault/as61-e.htm ----I like that the project was scrapped which makes it plausible for MP to ----have purchased lots of them. (6) HK UMP submachineguns (.40)(also one in each vehicle) (6) S&W M/P Handguns (.40) (2) SAW (5.56mm) (2) USAS-12 Shotguns (2) Hunting Rifles (2) Period rifles (hunting or shotgun, manufactured to look rough) (1) AM Sniper (.50) Other sniper rifles as issued to qualified team members. But I don't like the varied load-out options because it would seem more likely that uniformity in ammunition types would be the rule of the day. |

Looking at your list, it would seem that the canon loads (for most teams) would have about the same degree of ammunition commonality, more or less. I.e.: most loads from TM 1-1 use 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm and 9x19mm, with 12 ga. .357 and .44 Magnum available but could be restricted to special purpose teams. The above list includes 5.56x45mm, .40 S&W, 12 ga. .50 AM, "hunting rifles" and "period rifles" which are probably going to be in a mis-mash of calibres from possibly .22LR to .30-30, .308 (7.62x51mm), .30-06. So at best commonality is about the same as TM 1-1. I see there appears to be 27 different long-arms and SMGs/shotguns provided for a 6-person team, including 2 SAWs and 1 anti-material rifle (a sniper rifle on steroids). Wouldn't this make things a little cramped in the MPV? Sorry if this sounds a little critical, that's not my intent. Tony |
