Default me and what if...

I had just a had bloody gallbladder attack last Sunday, and removed yesterday. This got me to wondering this: What if an NPC/PC has a like attack? Obviously this would be a CON roll but what about severity, etc? I think this would depend on the age of the NPC/PC, over all situation, etc? Thoughts/ideas are welcome.

Glad you made it through your situation ok and are recovering.

I don't know if I have ever seen an RPG rule or supplement for unusual medical afflictions/conditions.

Aparently 2 in 1000 americans have their Gall bladder removed annually. If we could chart an additional 99 afflictions with similar rates (or fewer if the affliction is more common), If you fail a CON check, I could see rolling d000 daily and referring to the resulting chart if you get triple 0. Another roll against CON might effect the severity.

This could really throw a team for a loop if you hit the medic with appendicitis, or the Team Captain with debilitating kidney stones right before a mission.

Edit.

I think the process would be
Daily Con check. If fail
Roll D1000 If 000
Roll D100 check "Medical Condition" chart
Con Check again for severity.
