Looks interesting. I have a feeling that I'm either going to really like or really hate it.

Probably have to go to a matinee with the lads or on my own. I don't think the wife is going to want to go.

Didn't someone post a trailer for this film on the forum a month or two ago? I'm looking forward to it coming out. Looks interesting.

I've seen the trailer and it looks pretty good. I'm in the same boat though...willl probably end up having to wait for the DVD as I don't think my other half will fancy it....ditto for The Road which comes out here next week.

Targan, it's possible that someone posted the trailer previously.

I'm probably in the same boat as Raellus and Rainbow Six, my SO probably wouldn't like this type of movie. Too dark and depressing for her.

It looks very good from the previews but I have some reservations.
One of my friends told me that the guy who wrote it was a writer for one of those computer gaming magazines when Fallout and Fallout 2 were around and he was very much a fan of them.
If he wrote The Book of Eli to try and recapture Fallout, it could end up being a real stinker.

I'll see it eventually, but I don't go to theaters anymore. I have a really good cable package, and I don't have to worry about loud talkers, screaming children, jerkoffs kicking the back of my chair...but I'll see it eventually. It looks interesting.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the book that Eli has is really a Playboy magazine?

I'm gonna go see it even in the movie theater. Actually here in the theaters in Lincoln Nebraska movie goers are pretty well behaved. Those that miss behaved are well not well treated. Its the cost of the concessions that are well down right a crime against humanity. :) But still gotta have that popcorn....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm popcorn.

I don't go very often, once every couple of months and that is if anything is worth seeing. Even if the misses do not want to go, us guys have a guys night out and the gals go see something they like. It works.

Prolly gonna see it tonight or tomorrow the matinee is cheaper. depends on the other guys schedule's.

Saw it last night. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't very good either. Denzel is good, as always, and the story is somewhat interesting. The badguys are cardboard cutouts of tried and true archtypes, though, the imagery is stark but nothing new, and there are a few plot holes. The "twist" at the end was pretty obvious too, IMHO.

I recommend that you save yourself a few bucks by either waiting for it to appear at a discount theater or renting it once it's released on DVD.

I saw it last night as well....

I found it to be a bit of a mix between the movie version of - The Postman and Mad Max

Darker than either of those films.

Not a family film.

Besides the rather CGI-ish decapitations, there are several scenes of attempted rape and one particular disturbing scene (for me) of 'off screen' rape and murder.

All that said you can definitely feel the Fallout feel to the movie and i found some shots and angles to be straight out of my Fallout 3 game. Which is a VERY good thing.

Overall: B- for twilight fans.
