TiggerCCW UK 08-09-2004, 09:08 AM What happened to the Pegasus class hydrofoils, both in real life and in the T2K world? Did any serve with other navies around the world?
********************
Antenna 08-09-2004, 10:54 AM There where 6 of the Pegasus class hydrofoils in the US Navy, they where stationed at the atlantic/Mexican Gulf.
PHM 1 - PEGASUS
PHM 2 - HERACULES
PHM 3 - TAURUS
PHM 4 - AQUILA
PHM 5 - ARIES
PHM 6 - GEMINI
They had different dates on when they had their keel laid, launched and Commissioned.
REAL WORLD
ALL was decommissioned at July 30, 1993.
PHM 1 was sold as for scrapping 19 August 1996.
PHM 2 was sold as for scrapping 8 February 1996.
PHM 3 was sold as for scrapping 8 February 1996.
PHM 4 was sold as for scrapping 19 August 1996.
PHM 6 was sold as for scrapping 19 August 1996.
PHM 5 was sold, 19 August 1996, to Eliot James and B. J. Meinhardt. Aries opened for public tours 4 October 2002 on the Grand River in Brunswick, MO..
Well, due to that the war starts 1995 in the T2k world so if not a fumbleheaded defence administrator would let them go to scrap they would be brought back into service later in the war, thats my view.

TiggerCCW UK 09-10-2004, 05:41 AM Further to my previous posts on this, does anyone have stats for the Pegasus class?
********************
recon35 09-12-2004, 04:56 PM That's some good info. My brother-in-law was the XO on the Aries in the late 80's. I got to tour the ship once, down in it's home port of Key West. I didn't realize it was now a museum piece. I'll let him know. He'll get a kick out of that!

Matt Wiser 09-12-2004, 10:38 PM Pegasus PHM Stats:
1 76-mm OTO Melara gun (same as on the Perry-class FFGs)
8 Harpoon SSMs in two quad mounts
2 pintle mounts for .50 caliber MGs.
Foilborne speed: up to 50 knots.
As for deploying them in T2K: Putting a couple in the Pacific Northwest to interdict Soviet shipping in the Alaska invasion would be good; put two more in Norway to help deal with Soviet FPBs and coastal shipping, and two more in the PG with 5th FLT.
