Chuck Mandus 10-13-2004, 06:29 PM How does one become a Warrant Officer? I'm curious since I would like to base a Twilight or Morrow Project character on being a Warrant Officer and/or was one in the past. Can one join at 18, get training in the military and become one. Does one have to be trained in a field already (like electronics, computers, veternarian, etc) before one can enter and become a Warrant Officer? I'm surprised they were not mentioned too much in the game at all.

Chuck, looking for info on Warrant Officers.

Thanks for the links. It seems like the Warrant Officers were overlooked in the game.

graebarde 10-16-2004, 10:04 AM While they have over looked WOs in the make up of the game, I never did, as I would make a WO of an NCO, rather than take the commission. In fact I have a CWO in a game now (SF team leader, yes I know a Captain is SUPPOSE to be the leader, but this IS T2K). I've also had a maintenance warrent in a game long past.

WOs are technical specialists. The ONLY entry level WO is the aviator. The rest come from the ranks after several years of service in the field.

SF WOs are the ONLY warrents I know of that are in 'command' positions, though harbor craft warrents, and aviators are to a sense since they command their specific crafts. The others are 'limbo' as to command authority, and pretty laid back from experience, until you enter their domains.

Aaron 10-17-2004, 12:21 AM No Warrent Officers in Morrow Project, there was a (tongue in cheek I'm assuming) comment in the rules that WO's need not apply as they have spent to much time in limbo (not enlisted, not an officer) to pass the psych screen.

graebarde 10-17-2004, 07:29 PM TMP is older than T2K IIRC. SF warrents are relativley new on the scene, with in the past decade I think. I think THEY would have been chosen/selected. Those boys are NOT in limbo :)
