bigehauser 08-26-2008, 05:40 AM Alright,

So I totally remember this being an awesome thread way back before it got archived, and then tossed.

So...I AM REVIVING IT! Please post inspiring links of sites related to Post Apoc genre, including photo sites, information, and writing...all that great stuff that we lost to begin with!

Lemme be the first...check out this site...it rocks!

Targan 08-26-2008, 07:27 AM Wow guys, impressive lists have appeared in a short space of time. Its gonna take me a while to get through them all. I saw one called Quiet Earth US, is that inspired by the New Zealand film The Quiet Earth? I have that film on my hard drive and I love it dearly.

TiggerCCW UK 08-26-2008, 07:33 AM No Targan, sorry, its a post apoc book/film review site.

bigehauser 08-30-2008, 06:30 AM Does anyone have any good sources for photos of warzones around the world? Like current hotspots(not particularly Iraq or other mainstream)...like photos of fighting in Chechnya, or Bosnia, Kosovo, other spats in Eastern Europe, or elsewhere?

thefusilier 08-30-2008, 06:46 AM I have a huge stash on my pc. I use them for illustrating the game I run at rpol.net

I'm at work, so I'll see if I can dig up the sources when I get home.

Mohoender 08-30-2008, 07:29 AM Nothing on any war zone but here is an interesting website on Chernobyl

My hard drive (being obsessive here), has 11,999 files in the pictures folder, 3.2 GB, including over 1,500 from the recent Georgian conflict. There are obviously some repeats in there, but with 12,000 of them I'll be damned to find & eliminate them all. Many of them will be appearing in future publications from the DC crew, a la the Czechoslovak Vehicle Guide on my website (and on the site too!)

Google image search is your friend.

Some stuff on the Yugoslav wars is at http://elektron.tmf.bg.ac.yu/bojan/

Chechnya pictures are at Venik's Aviation (http://www.aeronautics.ru/chechnya/cgallery.htm)

Official US DoD photo archive is at http://www.defenseimagery.mil/index.htm

and also lots of stuff at Militaryphotos.net
