I have tried to list the options we have.

Votes are public, so if your looking for someone in a month or two you might be able to see where they voted and look for them at the site they voted for.

Remember, even if we end up with a clear winner, we might end up posting across a number of sites now. Whoever thought T2K would have tooo many sites to choose from?

kato13 09-09-2008, 03:33 PM I voted for me. http://forum.juhlin.com

Other than bandwidth which is a solvable problem mine would be the closest to what we have here.

Pros

I feel about this board the same way Targan and I am sure many others do. I is the first site I check every time I am on the web.

I have 24 years of message board experience (starting with BBSes in 1984), I have dealt with every type of troll and spammer you can imagine.

I have 14 years of web development experience. I can make custom additions or changes.

I will keep all posts archived.

I am a level headed moderator.

I am responsive to suggestions and comments.

Cons

I am one person and If I get hit by a bus or something the site would suffer and probably die with me.

My DSL up time is about 99.6% (I usually have a 3-6 hour outage every 2 months or so.

If we had a serious outage (machine failure) It might take 2 days to recover. I have the procedure fully documented but it takes time.

Bandwidth and CPU are limited. Both can be solved pretty easily if we decide to go in this direction.

My version of vbulliten is slightly older than this one possibly meaning more spam. Again solvable if we commit to my site.

Life hasn't really impressed me either! I remember a line from some movie (whose name I can't remember) -- "I find reality very dissatisfying."

It just occurred to me that probably wasn't what you were talking about. Never mind. Pay no attention to the dork in the corner.

Mohoender 09-10-2008, 02:43 AM I keep hesitating between T2013 and Kato's :firedevil

Nowhere Man 1966 09-10-2008, 10:53 AM I voted for Antenna's site although Kato's is OK too, wish I could vote for both. RPGlife is alright but it is more of a fantasy site so far. Whether it is Antenna or Kato, at least the forum is runned by a Twilighter for Twilighters. The downside is that we might have more of a limited public exposure to get newer players but I think that can be dealt with.

I'll probably visit two or three of the choices, and stay with the one with the most on-topic traffic.

I agree with that. My personal preference is Antenna's forum, but I'll have to see which one shakes out, and so check all of them for a while.

If that is where we end up I can move the current archive over there. As long as there is not a posting limit should only take me about an hour.

Actually, Kato, you have a much more complete archive from here, with pretty much everything post-purge. Antenna's has some of the older, most "strategically significant" threads on there.

I really like your forum, am going to see about changing my vote!

Mohoender 09-11-2008, 01:30 PM I finally decided for Kato's but I'll be visiting Antenna also and I might end up some times at T2013 (will see but I'll visit anyway)

I've been at RPGLife for a couple of weeks now and just signed up for Kato's today.

Looks like RPGLife will replace a site I was banned from last month :( but will only serve as a general gaming site.

I might add a third site that, like Kato's, is more T2K oriented.

Targan 09-24-2008, 12:27 AM What was the site and what'd you get banned for?

copeab 09-24-2008, 02:06 AM What was the site and what'd you get banned for?

Herogames.com. Not really any point in going into what I was banned for.

Targan 09-24-2008, 03:12 AM Fair enough. I was just being nosey. I'm willing to bet it was because someone was being a dickhead and you told them so or something similar to that.

Well, sort of. I don't play well with moderators.
