View Full Version : Should we move post counts and registration dates.

In order to make this feel more like RPGhost I could update users post counts and registration dates.

I personally don't care about of either of those factors usually but some new users might use them when making judgments about who to listen to. That is the reason they are kept track of in the first place.

I will start noting these facts about the people who register here (if I can find their username at rpghost) and if the votes carry for their migration I will make the updates.

This is a private poll.

I'm all for a fresh start. Everyone is starting here the same, so we'll all be on the same page. No need to have the "nyah nyah, I've been here longer than you have" syndrome (even though I haven't seen anyone do that, there could be the potential for it). So I just just let the fresh start begin.

I am not so concerned with Post Counts, but I usually look at the Joined Date just to get an idea of who the vets are on a forum, however, niether gives any indication of the value of any single post.

Heck, if you're going on Join date you'd have to dig back even further back to the WebRPG Town Hall forums and when people started. I know that I started back before 2001 there, though I'm not sure of the exact date. Once that one went kaput, I then moved to the RPGHost forums. Now they're going kaput. So, honestly, where do you start from for determining "join" time to any Twilight board that was a precursor to here?

And, wouldn't it be better to just base your opinion on people concerning what they post rather than when they started posting?

Everyone already is 100% aware of how much of a Twilight God I am anyways. Just kidding, I'm ok.

Actually I find my post count on the RPGHost forums a bit embarassing.

I personally voted for a fresh start but I will follow the will of the masses. Of course my super duper admin powers allow me to break ties ;)

I was totally ambivalent when I created the poll but all the new lurkers becoming members makes me think that a fresh start is in order.

If anyone wants a post reduction due to posts on boards outside the T2k one, I am certainly willing to do so.

If we don't update the post count/reg date I will still probably post a thread with the numbers just so the data is not completely lost.

This Poll will close October 1st.

A new start might be fun. Anyway we all have archives

My vote is for a new start. I think the new lurkers, like myself, will find it more comfortable, too.
And in 2018, the idea that I was in this forum since the beginning will make me smile as I read the new posts. :)

A fresh start it is.

I am posting the post counts and registration dates for posterity purposes only. If I don't the data will be lost forever. Blank information after the name probably means that RPGhost lost the data in the last purge.

Interesting, I had been around the RPGHost board since aug 2004. I didn't realize it had been that long I had been lurking. I came across TW2000 after I began surfing the web. I had seen it on the store shelves at the time, but was busy playing traveller and boot hill. The rest of my never did seem like making the move to a new game back then.

My time with TW2000 consists of reading through the material and letting my imagination run wild. The wife and life keep me very busy most of the time.

Here's to many more years of imagination and the fun to be had.

Sure, but can I add my original post count when I was Jester7 too? That one was really high.

Sure let me know and I'll make the adjustments. Luckily moving forward this will not be a problem as I won't make the same mistakes that RPGhost did :D .
