Other than being a real beast, does anyone know if these things made it into war stocks after they were completely phased out in the early 1990's... I remeber seeing one on Bragg around 1990, but never again... I'm trying to find out if they'd have gone into War Reserve...

IRL this seems to say they were retired in 1993 along with the M151s. In an alternate timeline with an expansion of Guard and Reserve Units who knows.
IRL I have found several references to this being a hard vehicle to find so I am assuming they were not sold to the public in large numbers. Perhaps due to the fact that ear protection was required to drive them.

In T2K, the National Guard would probably still have scads of them -- but IRL, they've been replaced by the HMMWV and a few other vehicles, and good riddance. They're loud, they're not as mobile off-road as the military was led to believe, and if you want to hear an older military mechanic really bitch up a sh**-storm, ask him to talk to you about working on a Gamma Goat. I dare you.

I have a friend who has a working Gamma Goat, It is a b***h to work on and keep running. Without the helmet and intercom, it is impossible for the driver and passenger to communicate.

They are always available on Ebay Motors in the "military vehicle" section. I have yet not to see one each time I go there.
