Is excellent idea, comrade!
Especially "The Holy War", which is truly a fighting song, if you get the translation.

Of course, if your Soviet team is air-assaulting a position, it has to be the 1812 Overture. And of course the Zampolit explains:
"Tchaikovsky. Scares hell out of the Yanquis.";)

Indeed. No self-respecting Marxist-Leninist would be caught dead playing Wagner to inspire the troops. It would probably be grounds for arrest by the KGB!

So, apart from the 1812 Overture, what other things would the Reds play to inspire the troops? The Soviet National Anthem? The Communist International? It's not like the Russians are lacking in classical composers to call on for inspiration. Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimksy-Korsakov, Borodin, Stravinsky, Prokofiev. Any suggestions?

"The Internationale"

not only heartens the comrade at the front, but it helps the confused proletariat forced and mislead on the capitalist side to see truth and throw off his shackles !

Liberation is at hand !

I've always wondered what the assault in Apocalypse Now would have sounded with The Who in the background...or better yet, Jimi Hendrix...

Nah, I'd love it to be Jefferson Airplane, with "Somebody to Love" blaring out of the loudspeakers! Heck, Grace Slick could scare just about anybody when she got wound up!;)
