View Full Version : Firing at multiple targets
Bon dia!
Searching for some opinions… Do you apply any modification to the character firing at more than one target in the same combat action (semiautomatic mode)? I think (but I’m not sure) that v2.2 limit the maximum number of targets to 3, but without any modifier to do so. I’m thinking to raise the level to Formidable(x1/2) for the second target and to Impossible (x1/4) for the third, plus any other modifier caused by recoil, etc. Too much difficult? Any suggestion?

we use the 3 target rules in our v 2.0 game .
If aiming the first shot is aimed ,subsequent shots are always quick shots ( 1 level more difficult at same range.)
example : range close ,aiming for one phase and then firing 9mm pistol :
1st shot is aimed
2nd shot is quick shot -1 range banner longer away ( use medium skill)
3d shot is quick shot (and also use medium range skill)
With a pistol skill of 5 there is 50 % chance of hitting first round,30% second round and 30 % chance last round.BUT! recoil penalty may apply and make % chance even lower.
If at same range ,I think it is too difficult to demand 1/4 skill for third shot .
1/2 skill for second shot in our rules equals quick shot and is acceptable. Also recoil penalties set in and can act as negative modifier .
Lastly in RL , with a .22 pistol ( low recoil) I am able to pop of three rounds at three different targets at same range in 5 sec without feeling it too difficult .As I am not a very good shot with a pistol I would say that the rules are OK as far as I can judge them.
