Long term forumites will have noticed a change in my interactions with this board since the "DC Group vs Canon" conflict (for more details click here (http://forum.juhlin.com/showthread.php?p=14865#post14865) and here. My production of materials for the group has pretty much ceased as has the effort to constantly improve this forum (I have only made the attachment map, 2 google maps and I only updated the site map when Loren arrived). This is very troubling to me as activities related to the game and making new materials had been a significant outlet for stress and a particular source of joy for me for decades. That is not working right now in any way shape or form and to be honest this board causes far more stress than it relieves.

The most recent interactions have shown me that a the intensity of the "DC Group/Canon" discussion was not only due to simple disagreements, but in my opinion was significantly fueled by personal animosity between the two posters a have recently hit with temp bans.

From my PMs I gather that many people have not understood my statement about leaving the forum if I banned people. I will admit at the time I realized the true reasons for the above mentioned conflict I was full of fury (which is why I took the board down for several hours). While I was not 100% sure I could remove my personal anger from the ban decision making process, I was sure if I chose to remove myself from the forum I could remove any additional personal benefit I might receive from the banning. As I do enjoy reading the forum it would also make what should be a difficult decision even more so. That is why I made that statement at that time.

I will most likely be removing myself from the board for at least the next 2 months. As far a fixing what was broken in me in regards to my passion for this game and this board I am taking a significant break from this board and most of the other stressors of my life. This is all part of an attempt at a personal "reformat". The outcome of such an action is unpredictable, but it is better than current limping along without any passion towards what I am doing.

Given I will be off the internet for a significant amount of time starting May 9th I will most likely be giving moderator privileges (and my cell phone number in case of downtime) to a few members so issues regarding the board can be resolved. I will be sending the requests to them today and will instate those who accept on the 9th.

Hope to see you guys in a bit and play nice everyone.

I hope the break does you well, kato. It's good you're making moderators...it's something I think would have spared you from this particular hardship. I'm sure whomever you pick will do well.

I hope you rediscover your passion for the game. Sometimes, a little space can do wonders. Thanks again for all that you've done to create this place for us T2K fanatics to gather. Take care.

Kato-

I wish you well. I understand very well what you're going through... in the last year I have struggled with many of these same issues. Last year's "battle" took a heavy toll on me and my enthusiasm for the game and this board; the support of my many friends here on the board helped make my later return a joyous event. In January and February I made tremendous progress on the "behind the scenes" material we've been working on, although at times it seemed all-consuming. Since March events completely unrelated to T2k have pulled me away, and other things have been happening which make it likely that further progress will be slow for a while and have pulled me away from here completely. While I'm disappointed with this development, I honestly have to say that stepping away for a while helps you appreciate both what is here and what you've been missing while you're here.

Take care, and I'm sure everyone here will be supportive of whatever your decisions are in the future. As always, we appreciate all the time and hard work you've put into this board over the past few years.

Ah, you made me use Google to understand your post: "Don't let the bastards get you down."

I hope you get the rest you deserve, Kato. You've been the voice of reason on many occasions when my own reason has failed me.
