I feel the same way about the Spurs (NBA), but it seems like almost every time they lose a playoff game, they choke and don't recover.

I am partial to the Ice Dogs myself. And I seem to recall them spanking your team a few times. That was a good game :)

Still have Montreal, or Philly or Boston or Chicago or Vancouver or Pittsburgh to beat... and its nice to see 3 of the Original 6 Hockey teams are still in the hunt for the cup.

Yes, Shark fans! I originally loved the Blackhawks(still do) and they were my number 1 team, until the Sherks organization was introduced to the NHL. Since they are local I had to come aboard theyre first season.
So for me the ultimate Stanley Cup Final game would be between SJ vs. CHI. That would be killer!

I am in the worse of all situations... deep in the heart of Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wing country and I support the Ottawa Senators.... followed by the Montreal Canadians...

Long time Penguins fan. Sadly, I'm living in a hockey void, southern Indiana, where its all NASCAR and basketball. It doesn't help that I'm also a soccer fan, though I'm psyched that PA, my home state, finally has a team in the MLS. go Union!
But more importantly...GO PENS!!

Having it bad is being a lifelong Bruins fan. We console ourselves with the knowledge that the Bruins are a sufficiently classy club to have let Ray Borque go to Colorado so he could get a Stanley Cup ring before retiring.

I was feeling a bit left out by all the hockey talk, so I thought I'd mention my local team - the Belfast Giants, who are doing pretty well for themselves.

Hockey's developed a pretty good following here in the last 10 years :)

LOL...could be worse...you could be Scottish...we haven't had a sniff of qualification for anything since France 98. Our interest is limited to observing the progress of our neighbour to the south...wonder if they've been practicing penalties this year...;)

Not all Italians. I was referring to the Italian national soccer team. In the last World Cup the Socceroos (Australia's national soccer team) got amazingly far considering our international ranking, but were knocked out by the Italians. The Socceroos weren't even as out-classed as you might expect - they had a couple of ridiculous penalties against them that on later viewing of the video footage were complete bullshit. It seems that when the Italian national soccer team can't win through skill they win through pretending to have been tripped etc. That is one aspect of soccer that I really despise.

:D
we call this going for an Oscar.
It happens all the time and is slowly eroding people respect for the game .Many now call for video surveillance and refs in video booths that can examine in slo -mo what happended.I dont respect the players who use these theatrics no matter price .skill ,name or club.
Nor do I respect the fans that cheer them on .
Socceroos did fairly well - but why do you call it soccer ? It is FOOTBALL in the Queens English -all know this !!
The Yanks ( poor bewildered ba***** ;) ) call it soccer !
Both "Aussie rules spiked shoes massacre ball" and NFL "wear body armour and crash into eachother until injured ball "are games mostly done with the hands !! Why do you try to call it FOOTBALL !! GARRGGHHL !!
The particular theatrical performance by the national side to which you were referring has a name in our end of the woods - it is called "The Spaghetti Sling" or something that roughly translates to that .
All said - bienvienuto all Italian T2Kers -love to have u . You may now take one free post dissing my national side ,but keep profanity to a minimum - and then to the game talk.
(realizing the cheek of this post I conclude by posting a few pointless smileys to take theedge of and dig in )

So soccer would be "spectators beat the crap out of each other and try to kill each other" ball?
