Greetings,
Sixty six years ago today, Allied forces assaulted the beaches in Normandy. Americans, Canadians, British, Free French forces began the long drive to a final end to Nazi Germany.
Among those brave souls who came ashore was my late step-father, SFC Woodrow Wilson Holland of the 5th Ranger Battalion. It was the continuation of a war that began for him on November 8th, 1942 at Arzew, Algeria and would end with his being seriously wounded during the Battles for the Huertgen Forest.
What they did was an incredible achievement unparalelled in military history. God Bless You All!
