Depends on what you want drawn, and how much you'd like to pay for it. :)

Sure... just as long as i get credit for my work I don't mind. :)
I have friends of mine from when i was in the navy who still use my artwork to illustrate their characters. And that was twenty years ago.
Damn... twenty years.... it doesn't feel that long ago. It really makes me feel like an old broken down... well, you get the idea.
But back on track... money isn't the only thing i take in payment for my art. So don't worry if you're as skint as me ($1170.00 a month VA disability only goes so far you know).

LTC Mackenzie Cahill (yes, she's the daughter of the Sheriff in the picture above), a female officer who started out her career in the Army working Military Intelligence but has found herself leading a 'battalion' of troops who made the breakout from Kalisz. Her callsign use to be 'Hardbody'... but now it's 'Hardcore Six' because, well... she's sexy as hell, but still hardcore about getting everyone back home.

Cool work - you are gifted.
Sometimes i see drawings in rpg-publications, and asked myself "why to hell did they hire THAT artist?" (Like the ones they used for the early TNE-books - just my opinion, never liked the illustrations there).
They should have hired you, instead. But besides the option of making money with that talent, i am sure its pretty satisfying to look at your work, once you finished, huh ? Keep it up!

Believe it or not... my artwork will be in the new edition of the Morrow Project RPG that's coming out around the end of this year. It's in layouts, and only needing my artwork to finish it. So i'm drawing all kinds of people pictures to illustrate it. And most of my pics for it can be used for Morrow Project and Twilight 2000 type characters. :)
I was doing the layouts, but unfortunately my desktop computer died and all the work i had done on the layouts was lost... but the guys putting things together said not to worry about it since I was having problems with my computer working with the program they were using, and had someone who was doing a faster job of layouts than i was. Just to focus on the artwork.
I'm also trying to draw gear pictures... but for some reason, that takes alot longer than people pictures for me to draw.

Since the Falklands war the bergen is pretty much the iconic symbol of the parachute regiment and their determination to do what it takes, regardless of situation.
The plan was for the paras to deploy via helicopter in an airbourne role, similar to the US air-mobile units. the ship that carried most of the transport helicopters was attacked by the argentines using exorcet missles and most of the helicopters where lost so the Paras loaded everything they needed in the Bergens and marched from one side of the falklands to the other.

For the above character pics what size to do draw them generally. The detail you get is incredible and I was wondering how much it is reduced in size.

i normally use 8 1/2" x 11" stationary type paper. it's the same touch and feel as the expensive sketch paper... and comes in at a very, very cheaper cost.
And i have gotten my hands on .005 and .03 art pens that allows me to do even sharper detail work. :)
i'm working on a cover for the V1 box cover... i posted the first part (the Humvee) that is going to be in the background. and I am working on the characters who will be in the foreground... planning on using the look of some of the characters whom are on the v2 cover for a couple of them.
When i do the Merc 2000 cover artwork, i'll post them here too. :)

That is interesting. I have had a love hate relationship with my old refillable rapidographs and have not done much serious drawing since the newer disposables with finer points have come out. Any brand recommendations?
I also just now found out that 0.2mm mechanical pencil lead is available on the internet. I gave up searching for that 15 years ago. Maybe with these new facts I might start drawing again.

The last picture (the black haired beauty in the nearly transparent shirt) would be the embedded journalist form our campaign...
Angylina Sharareh Teymūrtāsh of the WBN (Westinghouse Broadcasting Network) News Channel. She's Persian-American who's 'stage name' is "Anglyina Sharareh"... who is one of the four field correspondents in the European theather who make up the lineup for the "On the Frontline with..." news show.
the picture above is her after she stopped being self-concious. because she started out wearing alot to cover her body (inculding head scarf), but after Kalisz she slowly started to become more open.

Pierce Brosnan? I've got news for you -- Roger Moore was the best Bond!
natehale1971
08-15-2011, 09:40 PM
((Thanks to a total cockbite grammer nazi I went in and corrected honest spelling mistakes))
Brosnan captured the best aspects of Connery and Moore... and if they would have let him make the last two movies that they were going to have him do, i think he would have nailed the role. Connery and Moore both liked his time as Bond. :)
Of course they say Dalton was a good Bond, but I never really took to him in the role. He was the placeholder for Brosnan thanks to the BS going on with Remington Steele (they canncellled the show and had told Brosnan he could have the role, then reniged at the last minute).
I love Connery and Moore as Bond.
The three of them make the best James Bond. :D
it was just the fact that Brosnan was in the right age frame for the Bond in my universe.

It's Pierce Brosnan, not "Broson".
Stop being so picky. If you go through all the posts on the board, you'll find that they're rife with mistypes and misspellings. And that's what most of them are -- mistypes, and not people not knowing how to spell things. We also have a lot of foreign posters who don't have English as their first language. And there is a lot of bad grammar as well. No one cares, unless someone is using it as the basis of a joke (in which case you should put a smiley in to indicate that it's merely a joke and not a critique). As long as it's understandable no one cares about misspellings, mistypes, or bad grammar. Get used to it.
Nate, don't even pay attention to that post. Keep posting pictures!

I misspell it once?Four times in the same post (twice in one sentence), which constitutes a pattern, not an accidental typo. I didn't, and haven't, commented on other spelling mistakes in this, or any other, thread on this board. Misspelling proper names isn't the same as making other typos, especially when it's done repeatedly, indicating that the writer probably doesn't know what the guy's name is. Flaming me, as several people have done, for politely pointing out the OP's mistake is far ruder than my trying to correct his mistake.

oh.. well EXCUSE ME mr. nazi.
do us all a favor and stay out of this thread. if all you're goin gto do is throw negative critism about a damn typo around. if you would look where it fucking matters i've spelled it correctly. and considering the fact the guy in question would be laughing his ass off seeing the misspelling instead o facting like a total cockbite like you are.

NO you are rude. most on here know my writing style and that if i flip letters or miss them it's a typo that comes naturally due to damage to my fingers and a minor case of dsylexia. YOU are the only one making it an issue, everyone else on the site was enjoying the artwork and offering advice to make better pictures. or asking what i use to do them.
if you don't like it, the fuck off and stay out of the threads i start.

Whoa, Nate, I understand that you're upset but you already made your point in the second-last of your posts. I think going in for another crack in your last post and telling another member to f**k off is taking things a little far. I lose my temper sometimes too but dude, seriously. This 'person' chose to target me with his grammer nazi crap Targan, and that is what is pissing me off. Does he do that with anyone else on this site? yes i have a mild case of dyslexia and nerve damage in my hands that has caused my mind to move faster than i can type. I went from being able to type like there was no tomorrow without ANY errors.
The second post was made because said 'person' went in and changed his post that i was responding too. Not just for a second crack at the guy. to to respond to all the crap he added about people defending me being rude. When he was the one being rude in the first place by bringing it up the way he did, without ANY HISTORY of correcting other people's spelling mistakes.

Nate, I'm not going to get into whether or not you have a legitimate grievance, and I understand you're upset. We value your contributions and that's why I'm being nice. I didn't want to have to spell it out but now I'll make it clear. Telling someone to f**k off in open forum is unacceptable behaviour. You have been warned. I got to agree there -- just ignore the guy. There are several members of this forum (luckily, none of them have posted for months) that I simply don't answer, regardless of what they say. Just put him on your s**t list, and leave it at that.

well.. if i can find players and Co-GM's for it.. i've actually built a forum for the game (that is located at, http://www.twilight-2000.fleet-connections.org/ )... i've not put any game system info there.. and still building the background timeline.
I was playing a really good PBEM called "Good Luck, You're On Your Own" but we've not heard about anything from the GM in a very long time... and there was a couple of other PBEMs that i had been part of that died out as well.
if you or anyone else would like to help me get it off the ground please let me know!
As for artwork, i'm pretty cheap when it comes to my prices. sometimes i even go with stuff in trade.

Nate
I spotted it the other day but I thought it had already been played or was underway.
I had heard of the Good luck game but didn't know much about it. I have only attempted to play one game PBEM and it was set in Africa but it died out.
I would like like to help in some way if you can think of something let me know.
I have a bunch of ideas for a game myself but doubt I will ever do much with it I might instead make it into a story or a book. Seeing the stuff for your game was veyr inspirational as though.
I'll definitly be talking to you about your work then!

NateHale, AMAZING artwork here, very nicely detailed! :) I like your renditions of Sharareh the most, she's gorgeous.
Do you prefer to do artwork for T2k, or would you be willing to do artwork for other genres? I am trying to to get back to writing a somewhat modern/scifi/fantasy/horror fic universe I've had on the backburner for a while. I'd be more than happy to pay for commissions, but might have to wait a bit yet as I am still attending school and money's a bit tight at the moment. :(

Shar is sexy as hell isn't she? :)
I do artwork for almost every genre... Sci-Fi, fantasy, modern settings, all of them. :)
Heck, if you think the detail work on these are good. You should see the adult artwork I do. :)
And I know about tight budgets. I only get $1170 a month on VA Compenasation and Pension (and I currently trying to get my Social Security Disability). It might take me a while to get artwork done, i just signed a contract to do artwork for another gaming company who wanted some character portraits drawn up.
That and my new meds for my migraines and pain management has me kind of... well, out of it.
Just let me know what you need done, and we can work out how i can get paid (be it with money or in trade)

Hmmm....does an entire collection of White Wolf RPG materials interest you in any way?
I used to play plenty of Vampire, Werewolf and a bit of Mage long ago, but as I said, long ago. I got all the stuff taped up in boxes and I can't keep carting it around, I'd rather sell it it someone who might be interested rather than just throw it in the trash. I tend to get very sensitive about trashing books of any nature, dunno why...
I have a small collection of D&D materials I'm unwilling to part with though, VERY old stuff. But too many good memories attached to them, so I'm unwilling to part with those. :P

Sure, give him a holler. Only problem is it's all taped up in unmarked boxes stuff into various corners, so it may take me some time before I get to it, and get it all cataloged and arranged. :(
World of Darkness was okay....but I had certain issues overall with some of the game mechanics and overall playing style. Perhaps it's just me, but I felt the way they were going with the game overall sometimes felt a bit too "emo" for my tastes, among other things.

You're inspiring me to start drawing again. I'm not nearly as good as you are, but it'll be fun to get out the pencil and see what I can do. :)

Thank you. :) Drawing helps me sometimes deal with the loneliness and stircrazy nature of my life. If my drawings inspire you to draw again, i'm glad. :) i think everyone can draw SOMETHING if they just try.

Thank you for the compliments... sorry i've not been around. Been dealing with alot of issues in real life. My Social Security Disablity was finally approved, and my VA Disability was raised from 60% to 70%! i am now actually able to not only pay my rent and utilities and actually have money left over to buy food now! and I will actually have the money to go to the UK to see my sons whenever my so-called wife will let me go and see them! I am looking forward to get to go see the boys. I just hope that she lets me see them soon.
I've also been able to get some drawing supplies that i've really wanted to get for years (such as a scanner that can handle 11" x 17" pictures and a real drawing table). I've used this Godsend to go about retaking over my life, i've been taking the time to redecorate the apartment with my things instead of my "wife's"... For the first time in my life i was able to actually buy a TV from the store and not second or third hand. and it's one of those werid new fangled flatscreen TVs. That's been a real thing that i can't believe that i was able to do.

Hey Natehale, good to hear from you again, and glad there's some positive news.
If you're still drawing and willing to do comissions, I definitely have some ideas about character portraits, vehicles and such that I hope you might be interested in doing for a fictional series I'm working on (fanfic though, so no profit on my end). I should be looking better financially within the next few months hopefully, so let me know if you're still interested.

I know this isn't Twilight 2000 related.. but i thought i'd share it with you guys. I've been working on my own Comic Book.. and this is one of the main characters in The Liberators. My primary character when i play superhero RPs... and thus, I introduce you to my meta-human super-soldier alter ego.

At risk of coming off like a nitpicker, he looks to me like the "new guy" they found for the Captain America suit.
That said, the artwork is wonderful!

Impressive as always Nate.
For the above character pics what size to do draw them generally. The detail you get is incredible and I was wondering how much it is reduced in size.
Hi there Kato! Hi there Bullet Magnet!
Yeah... you should have seen the look on my face when i saw that. The 'new guy' was Bucky... yes THAT Bucky. The one that fought alongside Cap in WW2 and was killed by the bomb blowing up. The one that Stan 'The Man' Lee stated was one of the only two people in Marvel Universe who had died and would STAY dead. That hack Brubaker brought him back as the 'Winter Soldier'.. a soviet assassin who when he wasn't killing people (like Wolverine's wife, and cut out his unborn son from her belly...) they kept him in a cyro-tank.
I normally draw my pics on 8.5" x 11" heavy duty stationary paper (it's the same paper as the quality sketch books at a very reduced price, for the same price for one of those sketchbooks that have maybe 100 to 150 pages if you are lucky at the art supply stores... you can buy a couple reams of that paper at 500 sheets a ream)... the paper draws good, looks good and holds the markers really good. if you want, i'll get the information of the paper so you can order some for yourself. :)
The American Patriot Costume is a design that is well over 12 years old. Heck, the original design had alot of harnesses, pouches and holsters on it that was what American Patriot worn when I first created him to play the TSR Marvel Superheroes RPG back in 1989.... His name comes in part from the nickname that the Marines i worked with use to call me...
The only real differences in his appearence has been the addition of a mustache to his goa-tee... and i didn't put his energy pistols, throwing disks and fighting sticks in this pic... because they made the costume look too busy when i was in pencils.
If anyone knows of a good wallpaper that is of a fluttering american flag... i really need a good one for the background. I'm working at cleaning up the scan of color version of this pic. I plan on sending the large Black & White to my youngest sister and see what she can do with her incredible digital coloring skills.
Yes, so far "The Liberators" has been a family project... Any of my brothers and sisters in spirit on here who wants to help me with some character designs... please let me know. At the moment i've got some background characters and a couple bad guys worked out... along with the three main characters; Freedom Eagle (she's alot like Hawkgirl, her civilian ID is that of a reporter or social worker), Iron Maiden (a female Tony Stark... just without the arc reactor in her chest) and American Patriot (a super-soldier like Ultimate Captain America: can lift 3 tons, regneration, exceptional agility, exceptional senses and a metabolism that has left him pretty much immune to toxins).
I've got the concept for a few characters done... just not what they look like.
Namely Shango... an African God of Thunder, Drums and Dance. I've figured out his fighting style (it's alot like caporellia, but incorporates his long handled double bladed battle ax), i've got an idea for his primary job in his civilian ID (he's a steel barrel drummer). I just haven't been able to come up with his costume. I want it to look believable representative of the kind of clothes that come from the area of Africa he's originally from.

This is a 'real world' version of his costume. And yes... I'm actually making this costume. I've actually got an engineer friend in Canada who's also a blacksmith who's making the shield... and it'll be capable of stoping most small caliber weapons!

Proposals for the Logo for the Comic book company that i've been working on... Over the next week or so, i'll be posting all of the preliminary comic logos for the company...
I need some help with something I'm trying to design... esp. coming up with the name of the Comic Company/universe that I've been working on. At the moment here are some of the ones that I've come up with...
"American Comics"
"Freedom Comics"
"Freedom First Comics"
"Liberty Comics"
"Liberty First Comics" uses the Liberty Tree as a major part of the logo.
http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr81/rspake2064_1999/Liberators/Liberty_Comiks_logo-1.png
"Patriot Comics"
"Bulletproof Comics"
"Cuppa TEA Comics" (the idea for this logo is to incorporate the image of the first Tea party where rebells thosed all that tea into the Boston Harbor.
"American Patriot Comics"
"American Comics"
"AVC" (American Vaules Comics)
Any suggestions for names or logos, i'm open and willing to hear want anyone says to make it better.

yes... the American Patriot and the comic universe is a project i've been working on for a while. And on many levels it's starting to shape up... though i realy could use more help in creating the universe and the other characters that will populate it.
I can do some commissions, but i won't have the turnaround that i use to have unfortunately. It can take me a while to get to draw something. usually due to issues popping up. And my volunteer work in the community.
I had a really big thing happen in July during Heroes Aren't Hard To Find convention when i got to see Stan Lee. I'll be posting that story in a little bit. :)
Since I was not able to buy tickets for my sister and myself online for Heroes Con 2012, we had to be there early Friday morning to buy them in person,
so i wasn't able to buy one of the tickets that would have meant that I would be getting a meet and greet with Stan Lee.
But... when we arrived that early morning, a big truck pulled in after us, and the driver didn't have the money for the parking so i simply paid for them.
It turns out he was in the Navy the same time I was (just in the Pacific Fleet), we ended up walking together to the con...
and talked about the Con and how I was there to hopefully get to meet Stan Lee. Now it turns out he works for Stan Lee Productions,
and the truck I had paid for the parking was carryin th tee-shirts and goods they were selling at the Con.
And he said that he's gonna do what he can to get me a sit down meeting with Stan Lee! I didn't know what he was gonna be able to pull off the next day, but I did have high hopes.
I guess the lesson really is, Play it forward.... because you never know when and what good karma is gonna come back and reward you with.
That Saturday we got hit with badnews, my sister was forced to go in to work that night after she had set up the day off three months prior. And they regniged on her weekend off.
And they were disappointed that we'd not be doing what they wanted to originally do (we later learned it would have been a two hour dinner with Stan Lee at one of the restaurants in the area).
But we were able to set up a time on Sunday for the meeting. And it went... amazing. Though he told me something that I really didn't want to hear. I got five minutes to meet and talk with Stan Lee.
My sister and I were so gobsmacked that we forgot to get a picture. He saw my artwork, and said it was good. Very good. And he liked my sisters artwork (more anime inspired than my style... but he still found it very professional). We both were overcome by the fact that he was so much like our grandfather. He stood just like my grand dad did, and wore the same kind of clothes.
When I told him about my life, and how so many people call me a hero... and how much that hurt, because I really don't feel like a hero. I've been thrown away to many tmes to be a hero, since heroes aren't expendable, disposable or something to just throw away.
He looked at me, held my arm and smiled and said, "If someone thinks you are a hero... then you are a Hero."
When I started to cry and smiled and said that it's okay. he took my hand and smiled and that it's alright. That people call him their hero, and that he doesn't feel like he's anything special either. And that if you've inspired someone, or they think of you as a hero. Then that's what you are to them. And to let them feel that way.
he then took the picture of American Patriot that i was giving him, and well... take a look.
http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr81/rspake2064_1999/American_Patriot_Pic_Signed_SL-smll.png
He then looked at me and smiled and said, "Richard... you said that I know a hero when i see them, and you are right. I do know real heroes when I see them. And now, you have proof that you are."
My sister and I are hoping that the people standing around while we talked posts the videos that they were taking. because, I really am hoping that i remembered everything accurately.
He's full of so much energy. And he said that he really loved meeting all the fans, and he was amazing. he said that everyone needs to do what they love to do as their job. and that way they are enjoying it, and it's not so bad... you enjoy it. and you can be doing it for as long as possible. and it will keep you young. he even jumped down five steps, hit the ground and did a little 'ta-da' moment pose.
it was an amazing weekend.

Samson (Samal rishon Moshe Davidi, IDF - Ret. aka "Samson 'Sam' David"), Costumed Israeli Meta-Human Powerhouse (PL10/160pp.): Like all Israelis, the man known as Samson had served in the IDF where he learned Krav Maga. And while he was a lot stronger and tougher than his contemporaries… he showed very little desire for the use of firearms, and specialized in unarmed close-quarters combat. When not working as a construction worker, he took part in ultimate fighting championships where his natural strength and fighting talents were honed so well that he was a reserve IDF hand-to-hand combat instructor. It was during a Palestinian terror attack upon a local school that his meta-human powers became evident when he rushed into the severely damaged building… bracing himself under a broken support beam, he was able to bear the entire weight of the building upon his shoulders and keep the building from collapsing until it was safely evacuated. And once he had let the building collapse many where stunned when he dug himself out of the ruins, none more so than himself… that night his mother told him that he was descended from the biblical hero Samson, ironically the local news agencies had used that same name to describe him in all their reports about the incident. Samson has refused to cut his hair ever since learning this, feeling that he shared the same weakness as his ancestor. Samson chose to protect his family and loved ones, and left Israel for the United States of America. His earliest costume consisted of the outfit he had worn as an Ultimate Fighter: a white tank-top style tee-shirt with a blue Star of David in the center of his chest, a pair of dark blue reinforced fingerless gloves, a pair of dark blue elbow pads, a pair of dark blue-gray IDF combat pants & a pair of black IDF combat boots.
