but considering the number of Japanese airraids or other attacks on the US mainland it is also likely that the Army engineers did it to have tasks to occupy them at hom erather than at the front ;)

Targan 04-30-2008, 05:09 AM We here in Australia suffered Japanese bombing on our mainland, the worst being at Broome and Darwin. We also had Japanese mini submarines enter Sydney Harbour and sink a couple of ships.

TiggerCCW UK 04-30-2008, 10:40 AM Awesome camouflage job. Although we didn't get hit by the Japanese here in Belfast we did get pasted by the Luftwaffe. As a percentage of total population killed/wounded Belfast was the most heavily damaged city in the UK. The shipyards and aircraft factory made us an attractive target.
