Hey folks, just thought I'd let you all know that my daughter Julia Rose was born at 2359 on Wednesday 9th March. She had a bit of a rough start with breathing problems, but she's already bouncing back and although she's still in special care she's off oxygen and started feeding normally this afternoon :) She's absolutely beautiful and I am in no way biased :D

Congrats!!!!
You do know she is going to have you wrapped around her little finger...tea parties, makeup sessions, and all before she turns 4!!!
And speaking as a proud father of one....you will never regret any of it!
Enjoy!

Awesome news! Is she your first girl? I have been a little taken aback by the...earthier aspects of diapering a little girl. Talk about having the mystery taken away.

Thanks everyone :) Julia is doing pretty well now. She's still in special care but she's doing pretty well. Minor setback last night when they had to put her feeding tube back in, but apparently thats pretty common. Basically she was just too tired to eat on her own. Heading back up to the hospital now to see how she's doing today.
For those who were asking, this is our second daughter - we also have Teri-Anne who is four. As a friend said to me yesterday - "Two daughters? Time to get a gun licence" :)

Who needs a license.....? ;)
Even if the police raided your place and found a mountain of weapons and ammo, all you need to say is two words and they'll nod knowingly and walk away - "two daughters".

Hey Tigger
Congrats. I hope Mother and daughter are well.
My wifes family had had 13 girls born in a row (including one of my own). Then, i cracked it, we had a boy! 13 daughters and granddaughters before the first boy was born. Surrounded by so many girls we're not sure if he's going to grow up a ladies man or gay (not that theres anything wrong with that)!
Enjoy the kids.

Hey, Tigger!
Hope you, Mom and little ones are all well.
You did not mention but you DID light the big cigar??!!??
I support what Leg said. Two words that any police can empetize with..Teenage Daughter
And you can always copy what Bill Engvall said to any future suitor of his daughter....
"That's my little girl. Whom I love and cherish. And I know you will do the right thing by her. 'Cause I ain't got no trouble going back to prison."

Belated congratulations, for the birth as well as getting out of the hospital. [Been there, done that.]
Among board-wargamers, we say: "May all her wars be cardboard."
Re:daughters, A friend of mine used to point out that he had a dirt-floor basement in which to hide bodies. And a shovel.
