So like i stated in a previous thread, i'm lucky enough to have a group of people that will be playing T2K F2F. This Campaign will be starting on Saturday July 16th and will be for about 6-8 hours. We will be playing once a month and i though maybe i can keep a running journal on the site for those interested.

I currently have, including myself, 5 ppl confirmed. And another 3 undecided. Ages vary from 18 to early 40's. Of the 8 ppl, only 2 have any past Military history and 2 (myslef incl) have some Loss prevention-security backgrounds.

I will be playing the V1 but with mods (Homebrew i believe is what it's called on here). For example, if you are a Combat Medic i will equal that to the rough equivilent of a Paramedic. But if you are a soldier with the "MED" skill i will consider that the equivelent of say First aid-CPR first responder. I have added a service branch/speciality of "SOG" or "Advanced Infantry" (unable to finalize) and Sniper as the speciality. Roll of 7 and CON 12. Skills:SNP 50, RCN:20, DIS,GS and FO all 1/2. It's also a .95/close-.85/med and .75/Long. However if somebody wants to purchase as a background it costs double. And the modifiers are base modifiers of .6,.3 and .1

I have never read any literature on T2013 or v2 (to my knowledge). Therefore the timeline i have re created is both accrediated to myself and to StainlessSteelCynic on his post here:

http://forum.juhlin.com/showthread.php?t=2760

It has been slightly changed (years anyways) to match current world affairs. My setting takes place in 2013. If there is any demand i can post my alternate timeline. As for weapons, i will use anything the guys want that has been in service as of 2011 and it must have access to details on the internet. E.g. wiki. Otherwise i am simply going by what the game offered.

There characters must be from a NATO country, preferably CDN, USA, GB, GER, or another Western European country. If they fall from another NATO country then they must explain to me how they end up in Poland, as i am also using the modified spring Offensive leading up to the fall of Kalisz. Sorry but i can't find the link to it. Also, i will allow all PC's to have 2 weapons to start the game with. These are the 2 they were issued. A AR/LMG and a pistol. If they dont choose the PST skill, then just the one gun. Any other weapons they want will need to be bought; and i will allow 2 more. But the PC must always let me know what they have on them and what is stowed away.

I will start listing my NPC's tonight. I will have 2 of my PC's done for tomorrow. Then my last 2 either just before July 16 or right after with a Journal.

Let it begin:

Please write a journal!
In my opinion we have a lot of Orbats & Gun-related rules in the forum, but not enough bits of stories around the actual games.

Looking forward to read about your adventures!

Heh, heh. It may seem like that but you're relatively new here. There have been lots of campaign stories in the past.

That said, campaign logs from current games would be most welcome.

So we had our 1st F2F game yesterday and what a blast. I havent played T2K since the mid 90's. Glad my wife doesnt mind, as long as i dont mind be called a "Nerd" by her, LOL. We had a last minute cancellation but otherwise rolled pretty good. So below is my Journal:

07.01.2013

0000 HRS - Units have returned to NATO F.O.B. Freedom at the Pratt & Whitney factory in the southern location of Kalisz. They quickly grab some chow and hit the bunks for a few hours of shut eye. They have been engaged with the Polish 10th Tank Div. and Russian armies from the 21st Motorized Rifle Div. for almost a week. Ivan really wants to take over FOB Freedom.

0400 HRS – Mortars and artillery start landing within 1 KM of FOB Freedom, and the base is on full alert. Units from the 5th Infantry Mech. Start to load up there vehicles for what is believed to be a minor engagement as their defences into the city are still entacted.

0420 HRS – 3 of NATOs check Points into Kalisz from the N-NW have been taken over by the Polish 10th Tank and Infantry Divisions and word from the North East and East is that Russian 21st Motorized Rifle Div. have engaged US infantry Positions and will soon break thru.

0450 HRS - Polish forces are now 2 KM away from FOB Freedom and Russian forces have gotten to the River and have started entrenching there mortar teams and assembling there T90s.

0530 HRS – Major General Shultz call the Full retreat of NATO forces any which way you can. His last words are Good luck; you’re on your own! Realizing that they have 30 minutes to leave Major Matt Cheung quickly organizes a 2 vehicle squad. Major Cheung orders Captain Krausse to go into the Signals bldg, only 20m away and grab whatever you can. Major Cheung then orders 1LT Chan to take SSGT Bennett and SGT OShea into the Armoury DOUBLE TIME and grab whatever you can. The Major then orders SGT Derry and SGT Benoit hitch up the 2-1/2T trailer to the HMMVW which had a Medium still and jerry cans and to guard the HMMVW and LAV25. Meanwhile the Major runs into the CP which is only 20M away.

0540HRS – Captain Krausse returns with 2 tins of Coffee. The Signals bldg had been completely gutted earlier.

0550 HRS - SSGT Bennett and SGT OShea return with 2 ammo crates each of 5.56N and 7.62N unbelted ammo. They quickly load into their LAV25.

0553 HRS – Major Cheung returns from the CP with a accordion style case. There are 12 maps inside that the Major hasn’t checked yet, Plus he returns with a tactical wall map (30x36} and the last known locations of Polish and Russian forces Baltic and Central. Plus the location of NATO command, Northern Poland Baltic.

0605 HRS – LT Chan returns from the Armoury with 1 - M82 Inceptor Body Armour, 1- slightly dinged PVS-14 NVG and a cs of Shotgun shells.

0607 HRS – After quick conversation between Major Cheung, LT Chan and CPT. Krausse they determine they are going to escape Kalisz following the railroad east until it intersects HWY 12 east. There if the HWY is clear they will escape on it. Otherwise they will trek off-road. At the crossing they discover it’s not safe and they head off-road SE for 4 HRS to the edge of the woods West of Zloczew.

1020 HRS – The Team sets up camp. An inventory is done of what goods they have. Major Cheung discovers he has a Map of working rail lines thru Poland. Afterwards they do a roundtable of Introductions and discuss their short, medium and long range goals. Short term was decided to go SE towards the town of Radomsko and then head North towards the town of Rawa Mazowiecka. The entire time trying to avoid contact with Reg. Forces and Parties x2 our size.
The medium range goal is to make it to NATO Baltic command in Karlino, Poland. There Long range goal is to make it back home to the USA and Canada.

07-17-2011, 06:05 PM
1230 HRS – The unit sends out a 3 man Patrol east to the HWY where there unit is looking at crossing. SGT Derry goes with his M82 Barrett as cover once they get to the HWY. Major Cheung and Lt Chan also go out and are lightly armed. The Major is armed with 1-UMP45 w.silencer, MARS x4 scope and the Lt has a SCAR-H. After the 2 safely cross the HWY they start to Patrol the other side. Lt.Chan notices a reflection from something metal from the sun in a group of trees about 300M NE of their location. They creep towards the trees until they are 150m out when SGT Derry confirms one man armed with an axe and shovel exiting the tree line.
The group observes him for 15 minutes. He is starting to dig what looks like a foxhole. Lt. Chan moves to the tree line still 150m away and Proceeds into the light brush. His intention is to slowly creep to the location of the man flanking him. Major Cheung continues to crawl forward until 100m. At this time 2nd man armed with a shovel comes out from the trees and starts talking with the other man. They can now smell smoke from an unseen fire. They are now both digging. Lt Chan gets to their rear Position and discovers a 3rd man. His back is to him and he appears to be asleep in front of the fire. An AK74U is slung on his shoulder. Major Cheung crawls to 20m out. Lt Chan radios what is seen. Major Cheung advises the Lt to silently knock him out. He then advises Sgt Derry to keep eyes on the left soldier and he is going to stand and order them to halt and raise their hands in Russian.
Both do as they are instructed. Meanwhile Lt Pistol whips the 3rd and knocks him unconscious. Thru ESY-INT they discover the 2 diggers are conscripts ordered by their Platoon commander to set up an L.P. and wait for any NATO forces escaping from Kalisz. They are both lightly armed with AKMs and 1 mag ea and are 39 and 20. They alert them of the 3rd being there Drunk SGT. They also discover that there are 2 more LPs set up between Zloczew and Wielun. But they have no Radio. The other half of their Platoon will drive to these LPs getting Intel. This ½ Platoon is located in Zloczew, while the rest of their Regiment is in Sieradz.
Major Cheung realizing they cannot take these 2 with them executes them. They carry the unconscious SGT and meet up with SGT Derry and return to their camp.

1820 HRS – At the camp a group of 3 men go and forage for goods to put into the still. Meanwhile, the teams Mechanic Performs maintenance on the LAV25. Shortly afterwards the Russian SGT awakes, gagged, blindfolded and tied. Major Cheung INT-ESY and discovers that the SGT is willing to give them info in exchange to let him go. He informs them of the City of Krakow and how it’s a neutral location with a ton of trading Possible. Anything from food and Gas to AMMO to a way back to the States (wink wink}. He also confirms his Battalions size and location which matches the other two story. After getting all the Intel that he believed he could get Major Cheung executed him, silently. The team discusses weather to go to Krakow or to continue on their route. The latter is still agreed on.

2200 HRS – The 3 man group returns with enough MUSH to fill there still.

2220 HRS – UAV flies over there location at a descending level. A few minutes later it crashes just north of their location.

07.02.2013

0000 HRS – Group sets a 1man guard and tries to sleep.

0430 HRS – Team is waken by the sounds of Tank fire, Artillery, Mortars and small arms fire to a Position North of them. In the distance, explosions can be seen.

0445 HRS – The sound of a fast mover is heard coming from there south going north. A single A10 Warthog flies and engages enemy forces north. The unit guess that it’s around 5-10 KM away. They determine to immediately leave there location and travel south to Wielun and do a Recon of the town.

0500 HRS – Team departs.

0620 HRS – Team arrives ½ KM West of Wielun. The sounds of the Battle are still heard in the distance, but faint. They set u a 3 man recon unit (same as Previous day} and go closer to town. They recon for 6 hours.

1250 HRS- Recon team returns and briefs. A small town of about 35 houses, a few businesses and a School. All bldgs are 1 story except for the School. About 2-3 Platoons of men, wearing Polish fatigues. All are lightly armed with only 1-RPK and 1-RPG spotted. On the top of the school gymnasium is a make shift watch tower. The school yard is fenced and a motor Pool is located. Only a few UAZ-469 are there. There is support and civvies. A MASH style tent with a Red Cross on it, assumed to be a Polish med center. This too is in the school yard compound.

1310 HRS – Team decides to bypass the town and to travel a km south and cross the 2 HWYs and recon the Bridge about 1km Southeast of Wienlun.

1400 HRS – Team Recons bridge for 1 hour. After the all clear they cross and Proceed on HWY East to Radomsko.

1800 HRS – Team arrives at Radomsko. Recon and notice around 30 houses and a large vehicular tent but are Unable to see inside. Around 50 armed marauders with bolt action rifles, SKS and a few AKM.

2000 HRS – Overhead another Jet is heard. An F15. Moments later a loud explosion and an ejection from the cockpit is seen. The marauders hoot and holler while a BMP starts and exits the tent. A dozen men jump on and it starts driving north towards where the Pilot should land.
Hastily the team unhooks the trailer and the HMMVW and LAV start moving north as well off road. They are around 2 KM West of the BMP which never notices the 2 vehicles.

Enroute the LAV commander agrees to intercept the BMP when it turns off the HWY and West into the fields towards the now landed Eagle Driver. The HMMVW will Proceed North and turn East at a Range of 2KM, stop and SGT Derry will unload and arm 1 of their 2 AT4s. Then he will fire on the BMP.
Once the BMP turns off-road the driver notices the LAV at 1.6KM and opens up with a small burst. Shots go wide. Sgt Derry then fires his AT4 (Misses roll} and shot sails wide left. He then gets back into the HMMVW and it drives 500m closer. The LAVcontinues on its intercept, but still doesn’t fire. The BMP continues driving right at the Unseen HMMVW while the guns aim but do not fire at the LAV. The 12 men have now jumped off the BMP and are literally running at the LAV.
500m closer SGT Derry gets out, aims and fires his 2nd AT4. (Roll hit}. Hit BMP front right. DMG causes a major explosion! The dozen men are now thrown around from the blast. The LAV continues after the explosion of the BMP and the Gunner focuses on the men with his 25mm M242 Bushmaster. The Gunner fires a burst of 100rds of H.E until he’s at a range of 30m.
SGT Derry gets back into the HMMVW and they drive towards the BMP until 30m.

They Dismount. Major Cheung and Lt Chan take the North and Sgt Derry goes south. They proceed in a skirmish line north to South 5m apart. The driver stays at the HMMVW lying down. He does fire a magazine prior to the skirmish line being formed. SGT Derry fires a 40mm HE towards the cluster of men. The other two start with 4 rd bursts as they proceed towards the BMP. The return gunfire is sporadic at best, but enough to Pin down Sgt Derry at 10m away. Major Cheung will end up using ½ his UMP45 mag, but rather than blind fire he will aim and concentrate on exact shots. All 3 kills proving lethal as he gets 2 head shots and a mouth shot on 3 separate marauders.
Lt Chan manages to unload his SCAR-H and afterwards gets a confirmed 2 kills. Meanwhile SGT Derry does manage to get a kill, hitting him 3x with his burst after no longer being Pinned down. 2 Thigh shots and 1 belly wound.

TOTAL AMMO USED was 1x20rds 7.62N, 2x30rds 5.56N, 1 40mm HE and 15x.45ACP. Plus 100x 25mm HE and 350rds x 7.62N belt fed for the M240 on the LAV.

Not amused Igor takes Major Cheung to the side and whispers Auschwitz! Then walks back to the group. The team leaves town and goes back to their trailer. Thank you. Our next date is set for August 13th. I'll update it then. But later this week I need to update with one of my PC's that I didn't get a chance to breif on earlier.

Very tru on this point. There was some discussion on this point briefly prior to but the risk of the pow's telling their units the approx size and strengths outwayed those of letting them live. Plus the major is a cynical bastard with a grudge.

I already have a plan for them on this point (insert dr evil laugh)

Chapter 2 – Free City of Krakow

*Update*
Since arriving the group has managed to set up a base perimeter around there camp which is 200m away from the road. They have foraged the earth and have 6 days worth of Ethanol created. They successfully hunted a small Deer. After cooking it the first night they rationed off the balance and froze it. They have enough meat for 5 days at 2 meals a day. Jerky was also made from the Deer.
It has started to rain and the avg.daytime temperature is 10 Celsius. They have managed to fill the remainder of water jerry cans from the rain. Both the LAV and the HUMVEE have had there weekly maintenance work completed. The group has done daily reconnaissance of the village of Slomniki. It has a few hundred villagers and appears to be of no threat.

JULY 11TH
0600 HRS – The team decides the it’s best to travel to Krakow and see what they can get. Items needed are Cold weather gear, .50 ammo for the Barrett, food, Diesel and medical supplies. The team combines there monies and the team has $10,484 plus some shotgun ammo for trade.

0700HRS – The team heads south towards Krakow, but stop in the town of Slomniki for some last minute trade. Upon entering the village they are immediately greeted by an older lady and man. Both in their mid 40s. Lt Chan exits rear right of the Humvee and stands watch. Major Cheung approaches the 2 and attempts to communicate with them. They don’t know English or Russian and he doesn’t know polish. The lady does notice his American flag and smiles. She asks if he’s Airborne 101st or so he thinks. So Sgt Derry is called over because a} he speaks polish and b}he’s 101st Airborne. After a brief conversation Sgt Derry and Major Cheung go inside their house and the remainder stay guard at the vehicles.

Inside they are given a feast of breads and fresh milk. Major Cheung notices a 101st airborne jacket on the back of a chair. Its the same as Sgt Derry’s and has Sgt stripes and the name of SGT pastier on it. The Major alerts the Sgt and Derry starts questioning the family on the owner of the jacket, and the lady goes into a back room. Out comes Sgt pastier and 2 AWOL polish soldiers.
After happy hellos the two Airborne soldiers catch up. Sgt pastier hasn’t been seen since the 101st jump into Gdansk at the beginning of Operation Black Dragon. Derry is told of his bad landing and how his squad was separated from the rest of the company. After travelling south for a few days and getting ambushed by the Russians he met up with this beautiful lady. She was recently a survivor of a NATO bombing raid of her village where her family lived. Only she and her brother survived from her family. When their paths crossed it was the Florence nightingale affect.

He escorted them south to the village of Slominki to live with their Aunt and Uncle and there 2 sons (who by now have left the polish army}.
The team agreed to stay here overnight and at first light the next morning head south into Krakow. Sgt pastier gave the team a heads up of what Krakow is all about and what to expect. Lt Chan started to treat the seriously sick with what equalled 20% of his antibiotics and gave another 20% to the village for future use.

The balance of the night was catching up and some minor drinking.

0600HRS – The team starts south towards Krakow. But the HMMVW and Sgt Bennett will stay at the village. The LAV will take the team to the Old city gates and drop them off, come back to the village and come back 48 hrs later to meet them.

0700HRS – Come across a ambush sight. 4 destroyed Humvees. Major Cheung checks his thermal and notices one heat signature 60m away in the woods at the tree line. The team moves up to the site and secures it. They then notice the sheer volume of damage done here. All 4 Humvees are stripped of anything useful, the 10 dead bodies around the vehicles are naked or near naked with their gear also taken. Upon finding the lone heat signature they also see about 15 more bodies shot execution style.

Lt Chan quickly assesses the wounded soldier and gives him med care (MED-paramedic-ESY} once the patent becomes stable for the short time that he is, the team discovers he’s LT Schaeffer, US Army B team 20th Special unit Green Berets. His mission was to secure the 2nd half of RESET. He has the 1st half but the two halves don’t work together without each other. He tells them where in the lead humvee he kept it and that he believes Sgt Cutler is working for the Russians. Prior to dying he will tell the team what Reset is. How it is a operating system and how it will start the use of wide spread computer usage again, and how the Russians can’t get it.

Once he dies the team will check the lead Humvee for it. After 15 mins the find a hidden box under the commander’s seat. Lt Chan attempts to open it with his K-Bar knife. In the process of getting the box open he slices his left hand and will require 4 stitches. Inside the box is the paperwork end of reset and the pages of script. Also is photos of Cyryl Jedrzej the creator of the Anastazy OS, his assistant Marek polizy, Sandra Michal (who is Cyryl’s GF} and CIA agent Jozef Kolek.

0915HRS – At the 1180 block we receive fire by Rpg out a 3rd story window to our left. Sgt Derry and Lt. Chan dismount and run to cover in a crater 10 yards away from the LAV. Major Cheung gets his webbing caught on the LAVs external load and is unable to dislodge. Meanwhile the LAV aims its 25mm M242 Bushmaster at the 3rd story window and lets a burst of 100 rds HE. LT Chan notices while scanning the building a body in the window of a
2nd floor suite. He awares Sgt Derry.

Major Cheung is now free and runs to the building that they are taking fire from and scans across the street, now covering the LAVs flank. Lt Chan now notices another Rpg tube in the window on the 2nd floor and empties a magazine into it from his
SCAR-H.
Immediately afterwards Sgt Derry uses a magazine into the same window. Major Cheung sees a body in a 2nd floor window behind the team and also empties a magazine into it from his Ump45. The team now starts to advance down the street in a cautious-defensive manner. The LAV is no longer taking fire.

The team is asked a ton of questions regarding their reasons for coming to Krakow, what are their current state of small arms and ammo and there length of stay. After they are questioned there papers are taken to a clerk to process. They notice the mid 80s IBM computer being used and the LAN lines connected to them. Lt Chan is approached by an ORMO guard and he speaks in ENG-50% to him. He asks him for a smoke. Lt Chan gives him a whole package of Camel smokes. They go outside and chat for a minute. Lt Chan discovers the place to go for women or drinks are the Na Zdrowie bar.
After 1-1/2 hours and $1600 fee to enter Krakow they are given each a green 48 hrs pass.

A back room for staff and 2 bathrooms. There is also a grand piano on the stage and a dj booth that doesn’t work anymore. The bars coolers have power via generator but the room is lit by many candles. Lt Chan talks to a female bartender who surprisingly knows English. He orders a Heineken and 3 vodkas. Total is $50

Lt Chan seeing that he has something here asks the Bartender her name, and she responds’ Tanya. He asks Tanya where he can find somebody here in Krakow. She suggests the Hostel down the road. Lt asks if she know Cyryl Jedrzej. Taken back, she says RESET and Lt Chan now taken back nods yes. Tanya says she will be starting her set soon but for him to meet her here after 0000 HRS.

Meanwhile Major Cheung notices a older man in his 50s sitting in the VIPs section dressed in a ORMO uniform. He is drinking a glass of Brandi and enjoying a cigar. The Major orders one of what he’s drinking and has it sent to the ORMO officer. Upon receiving it he motions for the major to join him. They have some small talk via Sgt Derry as a translator. He is introduced as Commander Marek Serochy. The Major asks him where he can buy ammo, medical goods and diesel. Marek says that he will be back tomorrow from 2000-2100 hrs to have his regular 2 drinks and at this time he will have some answers for him.

The team discusses what has be gained and decide to leave the now 200 plus filled room and check out the other bar in town. Just before leaving they notice a large element of ORMO in the room watching them as they are really the only well armed unit there.

The make there way to the other bar and notice ORMO are there with 2 UAZ armed as something just happened. They decide to go to the hostel and check for Cyryl and to check in.

2130HRS – Check into hostel for night, $200. No Intel gained on Cyryl. Team rests until 0000 HRS when they go back to Na Z bar to meet Tanya.

JULY 13th
0000 HRS – Team is back at the bar. Tanya is off stage and now talking 3men in the Vip section. The main is a large man wearing a Blue adidas track jacket and sweats and has a stockless AK74u SMG slung on his back.** based off the sniper in Behind Enemy lines** The 2nd is a man wearing a golf shirt and slacks. A revolver is holstered. The 3rd is a male wearing blue jeans and an US Army jacket with SGT Cutler as the name.

At the entrance is 2 men wearing black leather jackets, KGB looking for sure says Major Cheung. They make eye contact and the KGB agent moves his left wrist to his mouth and talks into it, and then moves.

0030 HRS – Tanya now leaves the vip and leaves thru the main door, but makes eye contact with Lt Chan. The team shortly afterwards leaves thru the door. Tanya is now a block left of the bar and standing at the corner. The team follows, but along the way notice that 6 men in leatherjackets are now following. When Lt Chan gets to Tanya she says go 100m down the block and waits. The team runs and waits while Tanya detours the KGB.

They now meet Tanya and go to her safe house. There she informs the team that she is CIA and acting as a DBL agent with the KGB. And tomorrow at 1300HRS she is to meet with Cyryl and Josef (also CIA} and us the B Team and escort Cyryl and RESET to Germany. The Major informs Tanya on who we are and how we got RESET, and how Cutler fits into all this. The decision is made for the team to meet Tanya at 1230 HRS and the team goes to the hostel for sleep.

1230 HRS – Team meets Tanya and they go to the Na Z bar, as Tanya has a key to the back door.

1310 HRS – a frantic blonde woman enters the bar. Once everybody realises that it’s Sandra, Cyryl’s GF they start to worry. She informs them that Cyryl and Marek went to meet with Josef last night, but Cyryl had a bad feeling. He gave the reset disks and cards to Sandra and said if he doesn’t return to give them to an American unit. They didn’t return and they were found dead this morning by the ORMO. When asked if she had the RESET disks she said No but she will bring them by the bar tonight after 2100 hrs. She then leaves. The team lets her leave.

1330 HRS – The team agrees with Tanya to lay low for the afternoon and to meet back at Na Z bar at 2000 HRS. We all go back to the hostel.

Major Cheung and Sgt Derry make their way to him. Lt Chan and the LAV commander go to Tanya. They buy a Heineken and vodka, $50. Tanya says that she will be performing at 2100-0000 hrs and to watch for Sandra. Meanwhile the Major agrees to pay $5000 in advance to Marek for 2 x 205L drums of Diesel fuel, which can be picked up tomorrow morning at 0800 from the Wawel Castle.

Major informs him that our LAV won’t be back in time and if we could use ORMO radios to contact him. Request is denied as Marek states this business is from his p/t job thru Gus, NOT an ORMO job. But he says to come to ORMO HQ tomorrow at 0800 and he will give them another day pass. The Major agrees and just before leaving the Commander offers a job to the team. If completed he will return their cash and pay them in diesel fuel. A package is coming from Western Poland on the 15th. If we could intercept it and kill the messengers he would pay dearly, on top of the diesel. The Major says he will get back to him.

JULY 14th
0000 HRS – Cutler and the 2 men enter the bar and go straight to the VIP section. The Blue tracksuit man goes to Tanya and they start having a heated argument. Lt Chan notices as he is inadvertently elbowed a few times by his motions. The language is unknown to the team, but sounds Slavic. After the argument he goes back to his table.

0020 HRS – Sandra and a group of 6 armed thugs enter the bar and sit at a table. Sandra looks wasted, maybe of Heroin or Cocaine. Lt Chan approaches her. She is really unresponsive. One of the thugs says in polish that the RESET goods are now for sale to the highest bidder. Loud enough to draw the attention of Cutler, Tanya, us and the KGB. One of the bouncers goes to the thug and tells him to quiet down, but the thug opens up on him with his AKM. Our team drops to the floor, as does Cutler and his team. Tanya is tackled by the blue track suit man and Sandra screams and hides under the table. Only the KGB and thugs fight this out, very quickly as the ORMO respond immediately, like they were outside.

0030 HRS – Everybody, incl. staff are told to leave the bar by the KGB and ORMO, Except for Cutler and his 2 men. They stay and have words with Sandra. The team now discuss with Tanya there next move a few blocks away. Tanya is determined for them to go back and to kill for the goods, as she guarantees that Cutler has them now! The team agrees and they double time it to the bars back entrance.

0055 HRS – Tanya enters the bar and comes back a minute later stating that Sandra was dead on the floor, without the RESET discs. The team goes around to the front and scans the dark marketplace for Cutler. They see him, his 2 buddies and 2 KGB men on the other end of the square. Tanya suggests that they are going to the KGB safe house and that we should breach the house. It’s agreed and we make our way there.

0115 HRS – The teams only 2 flash bangs are used. 1 thru the main floors window and the other threw the 2nd floor window. Sgt Derry enters and turns left. Major Cheung is 2nd and turns left but aims at a 45 degree, sees 1 KGB knocked down. The major shoots, but fails weapons check. Quickly switches to his .45 and dbl tap him. The LAV commander is 3rd and goes into the back room thru the main room, fails weapons check but the man in there isn’t able to shoot because of the concussion of the flash bang. The commander switches to his side arm a .45 and shoots the man.

Lt Chan is 4th and goes upstairs (in a U shape} and once on the 2nd floor sees a stumbling KGB man. The LT knifes him in the throat. 5Th was Tanya with her 9mm, but when she followed the LT she turns right and gets shot in the stomach and drops. The LT goes towards the room and unloads a magazine into it, hitting 1 man. He reloads yells 1 MAN DOWN and checks the room. He sees the man in the blue tracksuit using the bed for cover reloading. The LT unloads 3 rounds at him. 3 hits, but as he gets hit, he pulls his trigger. 1 rd via ricochet hits the LT.
The LT is hit in the lower regions of his M82 ARMOR. It doesn’t get penetrated but sustains 5 points of damage and might piss blood for a week.

Cutler was downstairs where the LAV commander was. The SGT takes the reset disks and the team leaves with a wounded Tanya. They make it outside where she informs them that she actually is with the Israeli intelligence and the CIA, and how they need to make sure that RESET makes it to friendly hands. She then dies.

0119 HRS – The team leaves Tanya and dbl times it to the Hostel, but keeping in the shadows hiding from the ORMO.

0158 HRS – back into their hostel room.

0800 HRS – Go to ORMO HQ and see the Commander. He issues another 24 hr pass for the team. Takes the Major into his office and tells him that last night was the type of people he needs working for him and Gus, referring to the KGB raid. The Major nods but has to decline, including declining on his previous offer. The team leaves to verify with the guards at the castle that there fuel is in fact there. Arrangements for a 0600 hrs p/u of the fuel the next morning.

0900 HRS – reach the castle, verify and leave. Notice that entrance guards are ORMO, but inside the castle walls are mercenaries’. They leave.

1000 HRS – go to the College and discover that medicines are made there, under ORMO guard. Unable to convince the guards to sell them anything.

Great write-up. Inspiring to read a T2K adventure like this.

Good events like being caught up on your webbing (Cheung). After a brutal start (group executing soldiers in the first session) good to see the group is co-operating with the environment like talking to the old women, giving a whole pack of smokes to the ORMO guard, reconing the town and checking prices before purchasing anything.

I like how Commander Marek Serochy has his "regular two drinks" each night. It doesn't sound like much - but in the T2K world its probably expensive and 2 drinks is all thats available.

Behind Enemy Lines is a great movie, like the reference.

Ooooh. I dont know it i would have told Tanya the group had reset so soon after meeting her, even if she claims to be CIA.

Well done with RADS reading at Kielce, smart for the party to be checking.

Pacing an adventure is one of the hardest things to get right, although probably easier in a face to face session. I like how theres action, activity and options in the city. But the pace is high and the group moves on and is travelling again across unknown territory.

Update – July 16th team arrives to a small concealed location at 1500 hrs, 10 km east of Plock. They stay the night on watch for any enemy forces that may have followed them. The next morning, they send out a Recon team and they discover an abandoned farm house about 1 km east. They radio to the rest of their team and they move the LAV and Humvee.

They send the next 8 days foraging the area for there still and do maintenance on their vehicles. They also do a inventory of their ammo. Sgt Derry and Capt. Krausse discover that they forgot to reload 3bxof 5.56N and 1 bx M26 grenades after they left camp Prior to going into Krakow. (Missed rolls by 2 NPcs and 2 Pc from our last get together}
Notes –
Sgt Derry successfully fixed their broken NVG, ELC-ESY
Lt Chan’s hand is really infected. Constant antibiotics and ½ the teams Naproxen.
25% of the teams food has been consumed and no successful hunting to replace it.
It’s getting colder, due to the nukes. Daytime temPs are a consistent 10 degrees Celsius and -5c nighttimes.
Every day they can smell something like a oil refinerary.

July 26th
1800 HRS – Major Cheung decides to take Lt Chan, Sgt Derry and Sgt Bennet close to Plock for a recon as they are ready to continue NW in the coming days. They travel light; Sgt Derry takes his M4 and his M82 for cover. They will drive the Humvee to 500m of the town and walk the rest. Before the war Plock was a oil refinery city of 80000 or so. But no Geiger measurements.

1900 HRS – The team notices that THERE IS ELECTICITY to a 1/3 of the city! To the NW there is 1 flare stack and an up grader. To the SW there is a small Hydro station. They get into the Humvee and Proceed to the refinery for a closer reccee.

2000 HRS – the Refinery is in fact making something, but the security is tight! At least a Battalion of Russian Reg force soldiers, AA, AAA and SAM bunkers . Also a few BMP and T72s. The team stays until 0300 HRS and decides to head back to camp. They will come back tomorrow night to reccee the Hydro station.

July 27th
1200HRS- They can hear but are unable to see a helicopter. This goes on throughout the day.

1800 HRS – The same recon team make their way back to the city, this time they continue south towards the Hydro station via off road. This time they see a lot of military vehicles on the HWY, including military refuelling tankers.

1900 HRS – about 100m away from city limits by the Hydro station. Some abandoned houses with no electricity, but for the most Part the locals have rebuilt this town. The team makes its way by foot to a 2 story brick building about 1 block away from the hydro station. They go onto the roof and observe the area for a few hrs. The hydro station is just as armed as the refinery is, but there is also a helicopter in the compound. After 2200 hrs the team makes its way back to the Humvee and goes back to the camp.

July 27th
0600 HRS – The team saddles up and heads towards RyPin. Avoiding the crossroads by a few km off-road. The LAV is seriously low on ammo for their 25mm. Only 66 rds of APFSDSDU and 120 rds of API.

0800 HRS- the team reaches RyPin and they do a very brief recon of the town. They don’t see any military soldiers of vehicles. Against the recommendation of the LAV Crew and SGT Derry, the team drives right down the middle of the town. They never encounter anybody but a few towns folk.

0815 HRS – about 15 KM north of RyPin the encounter 2 UAZ-469s armed with .50cal and soldiers. They are seen at a distance of 100m. The LAV and HUMVEE drive off the hwy at a 45 degree and observe. The UAZ stop in a defensive Position on the hwy and the crew gets out and aim their guns down range towards us.

The decision is make for the LAV to drive at them and to open up with their API rounds. Once the HUMVEE Passes Sgt Derry is to unload into it with their Mk19. A minute later they do this. The LAV uses 100 rds and shreds the UAZs and almost every soldier. After it rams thru the 2 UAZ, the Driver does a 180. Meanwhile the Humvee notices 2 more UAZ from behind them coming from the RyPin area. They radio the LAV thus making it do the 180. Sgt Derry unloads12 rds from the mk19 into the 2 UAZ they Pass.

After the Humvee does a 180 it goes to the left side of the LAV which is diagonal on the hwy 10m away from the first 2 UAZ and facing the 2 new UAZ at a range of 200m. Lt Chan and Major Cheung get out and go left to observe the situation. Meanwhile the LAV and Humvee start taking small arms fire from the furthest most UAZ (first 2}. Sgt Derry unloads another 12 rds of 40mm HE into the 2 UAZ. But the rounds are still being shot. Major Cheung and Lt Chan both use a magazine into the closest UAZ and reload. Then Major Cheung manages to get a view of the soldier, he’s basically taking blind fire at the LAV. The Major aims and unloads at 10m 3 rds from his UMP45.

Sgt Derry then advises that the 2 new UAZ are at 100m and now he sees a tank at 400m. He waits until the UAZ are close enough to open up again. However at 20 m away they stop to our surprise. We engage them with the LAV, MK19 and the 2 on the side of the road. All direct hits with no immediate return fire. Major Cheung rolls a M26 grenade at the new UAZ and adds to the collateral damage. Meanwhile the tank is now closing at 300m. Sgt Derry is the only HW skilled soldier and he dismounts the Humvee and grabs the 2 AT4 and starts to get them ready. Lt Chan grabs the 2 extra rds and spots.

Just then the tank is identified as a T72. And with that a Plume of smoke exits its barrel and a shell lands 40m behind the team. The LAV commander advises to split up and he directs the LAV to go across the hwy and advance towards the T72 off-road. Meanwhile the Humvee and Major Cheung go left off road hoping to avoid the T72. The T72 continues to 200m out and it turns off-road towards the Humvee at a 45 degree, and fires another round. The Humvee turns a hard right and starts driving towards the T72.

Sgt Derry attempts to lock on the T72 and fires. Roll misses and shot sails wide. Meanwhile the LAV turns to its left crosses the HWY and drives to intercept the T72. Sgt Derry grabs the other AT4 while Lt Chan starts to reload the used one. Just before he locks on the LAV fires a burst of 6 (combat rd} at the T72 from close range with its APFSDSDU. Just as the rolls to hit are made the T72 fires again at the Humvee.

- LAV 2 hits out of 6.Oblique with hits 6 and 9. T72 has a 6 wear value giving it a 70 at TS and a 350at the c-HS. 3d6 dmg is 18x5 for 90. Round clears thru turret side and kills driver.
- 2nd rd with 3d6 is 30 x 5 is 150 damage, bringing c-hull side down to 50 from a 200.
- Sgt Derry fires his 2nd AT4. At close range needs 27 to hit. This time rolls a hit, at T72 left oblique as well. Rolls a 5 front hull side. Dmg3d6 is 12x30c means the T72 is destroyed and crew is killed.
- T72 last shot. Gunner is 80 LCG. Rolls a hit and due to it getting hit as it fires the round hits just beside (5m} driver side door. The Humvee flips sideways towards the Passenger side. After it stops Major Cheung is noticed lying on the ground.
Lt Chan (Combat medic} runs over to the crash site with Sgt Derry. By the time they get there the LAV is just Pulling up. The LAV drives in front of the Major and aims downrange towards the T72 in case there are any survivors. Sgt Derry goes to the Humvee to see if the driver survived, which he did not. The LAV commander grabbed the fire extinguisher and douses the flames.

Lt Chan assesses the Major MED-PAR(MED}. The Major has massive shrapnel along his left side, a Piece of thick metal in his left knee, a compound fracture of his left forearm and is unconscious. The GM roll A 10 (for the total amount of rds the major has until very bad things will happen if he doesn’t come too}. 1st round he successfully rolls against his CON and comes too.

After 15 mins the fracture has been stabilized, Morphine has been administered; knee has been wrapped and bandaged. No immediate stitches are done. Shrapnel has been removed and the Major is being observed for his possible grade 2 concussion.

The balance of the team salvage what they can from the Humvee, incl- 6cs NATO MREs, cold weather gear, Portable laser designator, burnzomatic torch, Motorola gang charger, radio for humvee, mk19, fire extinguisher, M82 Barrett but no ammo of any kind. The still and trailer were never detached and thus were destroyed.

0930 HRS – team boards the LAV and goes off-road east towards Chelmno.

1100 HRS - Team arrives and does a lengthy recon of town. Notice that there is a battalion worth of Polish and Russian forces guarding an intact bridge! The Capt. and the LT decide the route they need to take to get to Karlino must go North thru Gdansk and Tczew where the 2nd Marines were once held up. If they are still there then the Major will get the medical attention he will need. The town and bridge are a no go so they latch up and since the LAV is amphibious go north along the river a few km and will cross. By 1400 hrs they have crossed and go NW towards the town of Swiecie and into the woods for night.

*note, the medic will check on the Major every 20mins while in the LAV and every 45 mins once we are camped for the night.*

July 28th
0600 HRS – Team makes their way North until they cross the HWY outside of crossroads, then back to the HWY and cross it going East. They will travel North off-road until they reach Tczew (one of the last known cities where the 2nd Marines were}.

1000 HRS – Team makes it to 1 km SE of Tczew where the LAV commander notices the back end of a vehicle in some small woods about 100m north. Lt Chan is advised by the GM that the major is stable so the Lt and Sgt Derry will go and insect the vehicle.
After making their way to it they are greeted by12 US Marines. After some greetings the LT radios for the LAV to come up. LT Chan is a Marine so he has a brief reunion. The team is briefed by the Marines. They are a 12 team LP, and have been there for 3 weeks observing Tczew. The city was over run on July 7th, shortly after the fall of Kalisz. The Marines retreated North to Gdansk and set up a 2000 man base with 8 M1 and various other vehicles.

1300 HRS – the team loads up and make their way North to Gdansk.

1430 HRS – team enters Gdansk and goes right to the Marines camp. The major is immediately taken to the hospital and the rest of the team is debriefed. During the debriefing they advise them of the following-
- Operation reset is handed over.
- Location of Plock and the Hydro AND refinery.
- Various other info that was collected over the Past 28 days.
1700 HRS – Team is given a make shift sleeping quarters. The LAV crew is given base jobs and the LT and the SGT are moved into rotation for the next 8 days. Similar to the jobs the Marines had in A few good men in Cuba. Watch towers.

July 30th the Major is released from the hospital and 1 week light duty.
Aug 5th the Major rejoins his team. The team is re assembled into a Recon unit via the LAV.

AUG 6th – 0800 HRS the team hears on the radio the details to OPERATION OMEGA and given the details on TF34 and the 09-23-2013 departure date.

Chapter 4 – Going Home

Update: Upon the team hearing of Operation Omega over the radios, the three NATO bases immediately went into a “Lockdown”. It was nearly 72 hrs until they were able to verify the authenticity of the message. It was a looping message and there was no immediate answer on the 3 radio frequencies offered on the message.

The 3 major NATO bases in the near area were Camp Nicholas, located at the Gdansk airport. This was home to some of the 2nd Marine Division. Camp Bush was the main HQ for the 2nd Marin e division located in the town of Bialogard, And Camp Trudeau at Karlino was the home to the Canadian ACR. These 3 bases and everything in side of its radius were known as the Iron Triangle.

The acting commanders of the two Marine camps decided of the next 48 hours that the 2nd Marines were not going to participate in Omega, but rather they were going to continue fixing the USS Carter Hall. The Carter Hall hit a mine and started taking on water. The Marines managed to get her into the harbour of Gdansk and set anchor down. Repairs have been under way for months (since the start of Operation Black Dragon in July). The head engineer figures a completion date of Mid April, 2014 (6-7 months away) for it to be sea worthy again. The damages were not extensive, but enough to prevent the ship from crossing the Atlantic. The Carter Hall has 89% Fuel stores available.

All Marines are to participate in the scrounging of raw materials (welding, food, steel & metal works) and assisting in the repairs of the USS Carter Hall. If any Marines do attempt to leave, it will be considered an act of treason and consequences will apply! The USS Carter Hall holds approx 2200 marines plus crew. X3 this quantity if their forward cargo decks are empty of equipment for the 1 –2 weeks Atlantic trek. As there is approx 5k – 7k Marines currently in the iron Triangle, only USMC personnel will be guaranteed passage on the USS Carter Hall. If space is available, then CONUS: EUR forces will have the next available spaces. Then NATO forces.

After 1 week has passed since operation Omega has been announced, any Non US Marines wanting to leave the bases can do so, but they are to leave as they came.

No extra ammo, food or fuel will be issued to NATO forces. Hearing this offer the team is up in the air on their immediate options. But to further confuse them,
Lt.Chan (an active USMC) is asked to join General Watt, Col. Jessup, LT Marks and Agent Miller (Looks like Matt Damon’s character in “The Green Zone”)in a meeting. Here LT Chan is given 2 options.

Options A) accompany Agent Miller (CIA) to Bremerhaven with the plans to Operation Reset. Ensuring Agent Miller is never in harm’s way. Once at Bremerhaven the team is free to leave Europe on Omega.

Option B) Stay here at Camp Nicholas thru winter and in the spring leave back States side with the rest of the Marines. However there is no guarantee that the rest of the team will be able to accompany them. They can, however, escort Agent Miller to Bremerhaven on their own.

Lt. Chan has 1 hour to brief the team and decide. Being that Bremerhaven is only 12 hours away they are to leave at 2000 hrs that evening. The weather is brisk with light rain. Temp is 5 degrees Celsius.

*** PC notes Major Cheung’s agility has been reduced by 3 and has a fatigue level of -1 due to the injuries he sustained during the firefight in chapter 3.

Lt Chan’s left hand is no longer infected and is healing nicely. He is up to 75% full usage. ***

August 14th
1930 HRS – Lt Chan briefs the team on his meeting. They decide to take option A. Lt Chan goes back to inform the General. Then Agent Miller accompanies Lt Chan back to their barracks. Agent Miller has 1 FAMAS, 1 M4 w/ACOG and a .45. Once they get back, two USMC personnel are leaving the barracks and a new NPC has been introduced to the team. His name is PFC. Roger Murray from the US Army Combat Engineers. Murray is from Stillwater, Ok and is a VERY LOUD and OPIONIATED individual. (Looks like Jeremy Renner’s character from the Hurt Locker). The team spends the next 30 minutes getting to know both Agent Miller and PFC Murray while they load their LAV25. General Watt issues 2 barrels of Diesel plus full ammo for the LAV. Agent Miller has a Black Range rover SUV.

LVI
12-23-2011, 03:32 PM
2100 HRS – The team departs. They go off-road west toward Lebork. Maj. Cheung is driving Agent Murray in the Range rover. In the back is PFC Murray. SGT Derry and Lt Chan are in the back of the LAV25.

2200 HRS – They approach the town of Lebork. 2 drivers both failed there Alertness roles. Prior to stopping and doing a reccee of the town they start taking small arms fire from a tree line just outside of the town. They immediately take defensive action and turn right (North) and head towards Wicko.

2210 HRS - The Range Rover’s warning lights start coming on and the temp is maxed out. (It’s determined that the engine and coolant system took a hit or two. The team must ditch it.) PFC Murray sets some c4 and rigs a tripwire to the Range rover. Now Agent Miller and Major Cheung ride in the LAV25, and the PFC, SGT and LT ride on the LAV25.

2230 HRS – The team gets to the outskirts of Wicko. The stop and do a recee of the immediate area. They find a small tree cluster and back the LAV into it and set up camp. The immediate Reccee saw nothing come up on their Thermals or NVG. It’s decided to sleep and tomorrow morning at sunrise send a team closer to town.

August 15th
0145 HRS – During Lt. Chan and PFC Murray’s watch they both hear a really load “SNAP” from about 20 feet away, opposite of their position. They are currently on the LAV facing east. The sound is from the east. They both slip down and Murray goes into a prone position scanning the area thru his NVG. Lt Chan also scans from the opposite side of the LAV and does the pre determined mic signal to alert his team.
Unknown to Lt Chan, only SGT Derry rolls successfully to hear the mic. The SGT immediately awakens Agent Miller. The both come from the back of the LAV on its left side and move 20’ away. Meanwhile thinking he has the full team awake, Lt Chan starts walking toward the original location of the sound. He signals for Murray to go to their right and attempt to get a better LOS.

As Chan is getting closer to where he heard the SNAP, he is tackled at the knees. He immediately takes a punch but it fails to inflect any damage. Once they both land, the LT’s helmet, ear piece and mic have come off, and his SCAR-H has fallen. Since the LT is an expert in MMA and Knife fighting he is able to not just take defensive action but take immediate control of his opponent and within seconds has control of him. He drops his left knee into his head once he is controlled and draws his sidearm scanning the area for more of the enemy.

LVI
12-23-2011, 03:32 PM
While the fight was happening Agent Miller notices it and turns on his maglight attached to his FAMAS. He spots a 2nd enemy within a few feet of Chan’s fight and he opens up with a double tap to his chest. Blood squirts over Chan’s face just as he hears rounds from a AR behind him while he started to scan the area.
Within seconds the FAMAS opens up on semi auto for what ends up being the full usage of a clip. Also heard are the sounds of a M4.

The LAV team now awake starts up the LAV25. Seconds later Miller and Derry approach LT Chan, verbally signalling him. Sgt Derry quickly detains the prisoner and escorts him back to the LAV25. Meanwhile Major Cheung approaches Miller’s flashlight and they try to determine what has happened. Lt Chan who is looking for his missing gear asks where PFC Murray was. As the 3 look at each other shaking their heads Murray says over the radio “enemy 20 m from LAV due EAST” and seconds later 5.56n rounds are heard with a mixture of 7.62.

The Major, the LT without his SCAR and Agent Murray run towards the sound of gunfire. But as quickly as it started it stops. Once they get to PFC Murray they discover 3 KIA Polish soldiers. 2 hunched over inside a UAZ469 and a 3rd beside the driver door.
In all, 6 KIA polish soldiers are discovered. 3 form the UAZ, 2 more approx 20’ right of where Lt Chan was (The Agent and Derry had killed them) and a 6th that was beside the LT that Miller doubled tapped.

0150 HRS - Major Cheung and Agent Miller interrogate the surviving Polish soldier. It’s discovered that the team was sent out to track down the 2 vehicles that they had opened up on at the town of Lebork. They have a portable Thermal imager that helped then discover there position in the dark. Hearing this, the team immediately pack up everything and get ready to head out. The Agent strips the Polish soldier of his gear, clothing and boots and tells him to start walking towards the hwy. The team then sends PFC Murray with Sgt Derry to the UAZ and he sets up a c4 booby-trap. They then start on their way towards the town of Slopsk.

0230 HRS – They team is on the outskirts of Slopsk and after a brief reccee discover heat signatures and notice a few armoured vehicles. They decide to avoid the town via the outskirts and continue towards Karlino.
They also decide to simply avoid any towns along the way to Karlino.

0300 HRS – Back on the HWY

0600 HRS – Enter the East Checkpoint of Camp Trudeau, Karlino Poland.
The Team enters the Camp and starts gathering intelligence. Lt Chan and Specialists Claude Benoit (CDN) make their way towards the CP, so Benoit can check in and receive any new orders. However as he has made bonds with his current team he has no immediate plans to rejoin the CDN’s and wants to go home.
The Major and SGT Derry are talking with a few of the CDN soldiers (Voodoos) from the checkpoint. They discover that over the past 1-1/2 to 2 weeks since Omega was announced that anywhere from a squad walking to a battalion driving passes thru Camp Trudeau daily, making their way West towards Bremerhaven. They also discover that Kotobrezg is the HQ of the US army XI corps and that Nowogard is a PPCLI controlled town.

The LT and Benoit enter the CP and a SGT escorts Benoit to an office. They spend nearly 1 hour in there and then the SGT escorts a pissed off Benoit back to the door. Lt Chan is thanked by the SGT and is asked to have Benoit gather his gear form their vehicles and he is to report back for reassignment. Lt Chan agrees and he and Benoit leave. On the walk back to the LAV Benoit goes off and starts in English, but when angry his French kicks in HARD. A lot of “Tabrenacks” are said and “FUCK them!” Benoit then tells the commander of the LAV nothing as he simply enters the LAV gunners chair and stares straight ahead.

Lt Chan says to the Major, Captain Krause and Agent Miller how he is to stay behind and how Benoit says “FUCK THAT and other French curses” So the team seeing Benoit in his chair in the LAV decide to get going south towards the next town.

0800 HRS – Team leaves Karlino without any immediate repercussions of stowing an AWOL Benoit.

0830 HRS - Team passes thru an abandoned town of Ploty.

0915 HRS - Team reccees CDN town of Nowogard. Intel is correct. PPCLI do control it. However with an AWOL Benoit the team goes around the town and continues there way south.

1000 HRS - team passes thru the abandoned town of Goleniow. They do discover a few squads of NATO soldiers camped out, with no vehicle support and minimal defences. They are assumed to be stragglers making their way towards Bremerhaven. The team heads south towards the crossroads, then heads west across the ODER river and towards Locknitz, Germany.

1200 HRS – Team reccees ODER River, crosses the river as the bridges are destroyed.

1230 HRS - Team reaches Locknitz, Germany. Continue West towards Woldegk.

1300 HRS – Team reaches Woldegk. A Town of approx 200. After a brief reccee they discover no military resistance. The immediate similarity is to Amish Pennsylvania. The team enters the town and starts gathering Intel from the locals.

They are informed of the mass NATO troops that have bypassed there town over the past few weeks. Spec. Benoit is still very aggravated by the meeting he had earlier in the day. Cpt. Krausse offers to Benoit a complete makeover. The team will gather what fatigues they have (US military) and redress him as an American. Plus Major Cheung has some dog tags that can be given to Benoit (just in case).

Meanwhile, PFC Murray has made a few new friends. He has discovered a few Horses and since he grew up in Oklahoma as a Ranchers son he knows a thing or two about Horses. He immediately starts riding one and talks Agent Miller into doing the same. Agent Miller has disclosed to the team that he is a Weapons Intelligence expert (WMD, NBC warfare) and has zero background in Horses. Roger spends the most relaxing afternoon post TDM by teaching the team how to ride a horse.

The team agrees to spend the night just outside of town, but the locals will have nothing of it, and the team stays in town. The one piece of heaven for Spec. Benoit is that there is a small creek just outside the town where he and a few locals go fishing.

August 16th
0600 HRS - The team awakes and starts getting ready to depart. The LAV25 crew takes one of their 4 drums of fuel and refuel the LAV25. The team agrees to stay and do a routine medical on the towns sick with Lt. Chan’s MED-PAR skills. They stay until 1400 HRS. They then depart west towards the Harbour town of Wisner.

Along the way a few American soldiers are passed as they are marching on the highway.

1600 HRS – The team is on the outskirts of Wisner. They estimate the town has about 4000 ppl plus a very large contingent of German militia and Reg forces. The team enters the town’s east checkpoint. Here they are asked a few standard questions from a very uninterested German soldier. Upon approval he informs the team that since they are heading to Bremerhaven to expect a lot of unfriendly German soldiers along the way. He says that most of the troops around here feel spitted and abandoned by the Americans and NATO.

1700 HRS - The team heads south towards Schwerin. Along the way they pass a Platoon sized American force of soldiers on the side of the road eating chow. We wave and continue southward.

1730 HRS – Team is on the outskirts of Schwerin. We agree to go off-road west towards a cluster of trees just east of Hamburg. The team and its leaders are taking caution from the warnings they received back in Wismar.

1830 HRS – The team reaches their destination and set up camp. They will stay until sunrise tomorrow.

August 17th
0600 HRS – Team assembles and starts getting ready to drive. Wear value roll against the LAV crew is successful and the LAV starts and the team heads SW towards the HWY.

0700 HRS – At the 5 way interchange just east of Hamburg the team reaches a major US convoy heading west. Approx a 30 vehicle column. Agent Miller wants the LAV to pull up to the lead M1 so he can get them to stop and he can gain some Intel. Upon doing so he we discover that this column is a mixture of the 9th Mech and the 11th Mech US divisions. Plus a Battalion of mixed NATO troops.

0730 HRS – The team heads SW at the 5 way interchange and once at the next “Y” the go west.

0800 HRS - We encounter a burnt out HMMVW and approx 100 yards down range are 4 soldiers on foot. We proceed to them and discover they are survivors of the HMMVW. They are members of the 50th Armour div, US National Guardsmen. They were confronted by a platoon of German soldiers who wanted to be payed off in order for them to continue. When they denied payment the Germans opened up on them. The HMMVW managed to inflict some serious damage to one of the Germans HMMVW, but there’s got destroyed, with their gunner still on the .50 cal. After the brief firefight the Germans scrammed due West.

Major Cheung offers a ride to the 4 soldiers and the LAV25 heads towards the ELBE River crossing just south of Hamburg.

0845 HRS - As the team is about to cross the ELBE river when their Geiger meter goes off. MOPP suits on. Every player gets 11 rads/ea.

0900 HRS - At the 5 point interchange just west of Winsen. Come across
5 - HMMVW and 2 - M2A2 Bradley’s. Major Cheung inquires and they are units form the 1st Calvary, 3rd US Corp, based in Southern Germany. This 2 platoon unit has broken off from the rest of their unit and is heading to Bremerhaven. We ask if they can take our 4 National Guardsmen and they agree. Lt Chan tells them to “get the Fuck off my LAV!”

The team heads due SW until the road ends, approx 75 km away.

1100 HRS - Once at the crossroad they encounter a heavily armed German checkpoint. Here a bit of negotiations are made for safe passage to Bremerhaven. The team gives up the following: 2 Javelins plus 2 extra rds., 3 AK74 plus 26 mags, 3 AT5 plus 9 missiles, 2 AKM plus 7 mags and 2 drums of Diesel fuel.

1200 HRS – Teams heads north to Bremerhaven, along the way passing a lot of US Army and NATO forces marching.

1300 HRS – Enter the outer compound of Bremerhaven. Well armed checkpoints, concertina wire and minefields around the outer compound. Various AA and AAA, Mortar and 105mm pits. At least 20 Leopard III tanks and various NATO and US APC, HMMVW and jeeps.

1430 HRS - Enter the inner compound of Bremerhaven at the Harbour gates. All vehicles are handed over to German Armed forces and any extra ammo that can’t be fit into our Molle are handed over too. Entire team including Agent Miller check in with US personnel at the checkpoint. Upon check in all items are checked in, including firearms, and weighed. Anything over 100lbs is asked to be stripped by the soldier and re weighed. Once the 100 lbs maximum (or less) is achieved then all personal are escorted to their new living quarters until departure date (09.23.2013)

*** The team does PT daily and other various duties. Mostly in the assistance of the handling of new US personal leading up to the 09.23.2013 departure date. Any soldiers in specialties ( Medic, Mechanics etc) are asked to assist when needed.

Norfolk, VA took a 1MT airburst thus causing extensive damage to the cities deep water docks. Only a few of the buildings were still standing and since the TDM, US crews have been able to slowly repair one deep water dock.

Update: Task force 34 arrives at Norfolk, VA on Sept 30th. The team is on the 2nd last ship to dock and disembark. Upon arriving all personal are ushered into a large warehouse for pre staging. Very similar to US customs but without the attitude of border agents. Here every US soldier, NATO soldiers etc are verified by papers then advanced thru one of 8 bay doors.

Our team enters the most common door, and largest. Door #8. Here they walk down a corridor (approx 20 yards) and into yet another staging area. Here they are waiting in another line up for about an hour. There are various Army personnel located throughout both staging areas. More of a security detachment than anything. There are also some Red Cross personnel around offering assistance to anybody needing some. They have assigned a few “Donut Dolly’s” to hand out some smokes, chew and cigars to anybody wanting.

While the team is waiting for the line up to move, they notice 3 personnel wearing black fatigues and a black beret. They are all armed with UMP-45. They start to scan thru the personnel in line and once they make their way to our team they stop and radio somebody. Shortly afterwards the 3 men ask our team to follow them. They agree to after a brief conversation (basically trying to find out if they are in trouble). They are escorted into a back room where they are reacquainted with Agent Miller. Here Miller explains to them that his superiors want to meet the men who so bravely risked their lives to make sure Operation: Reset made it back into friendly hands.

So the team is taken by Agent Miller and the 3 other agents into yet another room. This time it’s a large briefing room. Here they are introduced to 3 men from the CIA and 4 star General Roscoe Robinson. They spend about 30 minutes talking with the CIA and just like that they say thank you and they leave the team in the hands of Agent Miller and the General. The General now has the privilege to hand out 2 battlefield promotions. Major Cheung has been promoted to Lt. Colonel and Lt. Chan has been promoted to Captain.

“Gentlemen, we are in our darkest hours here in America and we must continue to pull ourselves up to defeat the many tyranny’s that have set afoot onto US soil. We are facing the enemies on 3 fronts, here in the US. Our primary concern is what we have been calling the ‘Texas / Mexican front’. The enemy, consisting of large numbers of the Mexican army, various Central American armies that have been against US interests for years, Cuban and Russian forces have taken over most of the state of Texas. The Northern front has stalled at the Red River. However there are large numbers of enemy forces throughout New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California.

There is also a large enemy force located in the Inland NW front. The Chinese were able to send, what we believe to be, suicide forces via air and sea. These units strike precisely after the TDM and we have been unable to remove them since. The heaviest armed units are the PLA Mech units located in and around the SF bay area. They also have some AF capabilities and a few small naval vessels throughout the bay area. Not enough naval to withstand a strike from our fleet if we are ever able to get what ships we have left together to make a final push.

The PLA units run north from there No Cal HQ, thru Oregon and Washington. There is not much in the way of Chinese armor anymore, maybe a few tanks. Most of what they had was lost in the battle for Vancouver. But what the PLA do have is a large qty of tactical battlefield nukes at their disposal. And they have used them! Finally, the PLA forces continue north from Washington and into the Canadian city of Vancouver, BC. They have been engaged with Russian forces and US/ Canadian forces throughout the greater Vancouver area for the better part of a year now.

The Russian forces that I mentioned are part of the Russian Aleutian front. Russian airborne and army units via sea managed to invade Alaska and south towards Queen Charlotte Island. Their southern advance towards Vancouver was cut off and now they are separated. It’s basically a free for all in this area between the PLA, Russian and NATO forces. We have also been informed that key Canadian locations were attacked by both Russian forces and North Korean forces working with the Russians. Intel has been limited, but we hear they have made a guerrilla style war happen throughout the BC / Alberta Rocky Mountains. Plus other key locations including the Oil sands in Ft McMurray and Calgary.

Finally there is a home bread threat that is known as ‘New America’. They are basically a home grown terrorist group. Very right wing, ultra military and have been recruiting for years, underneath the FBI’s eyes. They consist of a lot of ex military, law enforcement and simple citizens. They don’t have a large area, but what they do own is starting to spread like a wildfire.”

With this being said, the team is informed that they are going to the Texas/Mexican front. They all say their goodbyes to the General and agent Miller escorts them back to the staging area. They are then sent to a secure US base for the next 3 weeks while the specifics of what is about to happen is finalized. The team is reissued their guns, ammo and equipment from when they arrived in Bremerhaven. Rumours run rampant thru the base, now home to 80% of the TF34 arrivals.

On October 21st , the team boards the USS John C.Stennis and they are transported south to New Orleans. Only a few of the German merchant vessels that made the trek from Europe are able to be used for this massive assault. These ships are formed into the make shift battle group along with the Stennis. The Navy was able to acquire some old F4 Phantoms and A4E Skyhawks to go along with the few
F/A-18 Hornets that were already on the Stennis. Fuel wasn’t going to be the long term issue for this assault. Man power and munitions were. Therefore the air support for this assault was going to be very limited.

Once the battle group arrived in New Orleans on Oct 25th, they are met by the USMC carrier, the USS Kearsarge. The bulk of the invasion forces on the few German ships are left on for the next few days. The men who are part of the land invasion depart the USS Stennis and make their way via US army 5T trucks to the new FOB located around the Lake Charles area of Louisiana. They arrive by Oct 26th.

The current state of Oil and Gas recovery in the state of Louisiana is briefed to the newly arrived units. It’s as follows:

A) Oil rigs Gulf region. Pre TDM there was well over 200 Oil platforms operation in the Gulf of Mexico. However with no refineries and deep ports available for ships to transport the unrefined oil all of these platforms stopped operating. However there were 8 fixed oil platforms that were separate from the other platforms on the Louisiana shore located in the Vermillion Bay area of SW Louisiana (approx 50 km south of Lafayette). These platforms were not harmed by the nukes.

There initial exploration was to be temporary, with above ground pipeline to 3 inland refineries. Only the pipelines itself in and around the blast sights were damaged. It’s taken until June 1st, 2013 to get these pipelines operational again and for 2 of the Oil platforms to also get operational again.

The Military has set up large scale defences in and around both operational Oil platforms. Also are the crews living quarters. Since operation and fuel availability, UAV patrols have resumed along the Texas border and along the pipeline. There is also an increased militia and military presence for patrols.

B) Refinery’s Louisiana. There are currently 2 operational refinery’s located in the state of Louisiana, plus a 3rd one once the flow of oil is increased. The 2 operational refineries are at Krotz Springs, 30 km NE of Lafayette and the Princeton refinery in the SW suburbs of Lafayette. The 3rd, on standby, is located at the Cotton valley refinery in Calumet, 40 km East of the Vermillion Bay platforms.

Like with the oil platforms the Military has set up large scale defences.

The Krotz springs refinery has 2 operational upgraders, one for Diesel and the other for Gasoline. The Princeton refinery has only one operational upgrader and it’s for JF4 (Avgas).

The invasion is called “Operation New Texas Dawn” and will commence on Oct 31st, 2013 at 0600 HRS. A brief OOB for the invasion is as follows:

Northern front – (Day 1)4k troops will advance from Oklahoma City, cross the Red River at Witicha Falls joining up with another 3k troops from Lawton, Ok. From here they will advance by convoy south down I-35 to Waco, TX.

Unless this convoy is attacked they will plan to invade the Mexican Nationals in Waco for day 2. This front consists of the 49th armoured div (USNG), 95th infantry div (USA-R) and various small units of volunteers and militia.

Eastern front-(day 1)Units from the 85th infantry div (USA-R) from camp Beauregard, 98th infantry div (USA-R) which has become known around these parts as the “I-10 Brigade” from Lake Charles and ½ of the 197th infantry brigade Mechanized from Memphis, Tn. They are also located in and around the Lake Charles region.

Plus 1k troops from TF34 that have now positioned them in the Lake Charles region. There is a logistical division involved with rear duties, including medical and fuel transportation to the units at the front.

The 85th is to advance to the Bridge city Wal-Mart where there is a HQ of Mexican Nationals.
The 98th is to assault the Orange county airport and secure the runways so the USAF can advance their A10’s and UAV’s from Barksdale AFB in La.
The 197th Mech is to advance to Beaumont, TX.

Various scout teams will need to do a pre invasion assault on various key locations to assist in the immediate success of the invasion.

Southern front, Strike force Alpha – (day 1) USS John C. Stennis battle group will invade with 11k troops the city of Brownsville, Tx. They will have the use of small landing crafts, helicopters and tugs to assist in the all day landing. The majority of these invasions forces are involved in this landing so air support is available.

The troops involved in this are all former TF34 soldiers, so a more battle hardened group than the reserve and national guards’ unit’s in the North and east.

Southern front, Strike force Bravo – (day 1) The USMC with volunteers from the USN is to land at Corpus Christi TX. They will have approx 2200 marines using 6 LCAC. On these is 3-M1, 9 -Hummers, 10 -LAV25,
3-M2 Bradley’s. Plus ½ a air wing of AV-8B Harriers and ½ a squadron of AH-1W Cobra’s

OPERATION #1 – SABINE PASS
October 30th
1900 HRS – The team is given there mission briefing: There is a small radar site on the top of the Sabine Pass lighthouse. Plus there is a 2 rocket SAM-7 launcher and some AA guns. Their mission is to destroy the Radar sight and all military weapons BEFORE 0600 HRS. There secondary objective is to take a prisoner. There are roughly 12-24 lightly armed Mexican nationals controlling the sight.

There is no Air support or support of any kind for this mission. Upon completion they are to radio their success and wait for back up in the way of a PBR and 2 armed Tugboats. Furthermore they are to stay and await further instructions.

After the briefing the unit assembles at their vehicles and does final weapons and ammo checks. They will be leaving into Texas at 0300 HRS so a few people try to get some sleep.

October 31st
0300 HRS - Red striker 1-9 crosses the border in to Orange TX.
0415 HRS – Team minus Bradley cross bridge on the southern outskirts of Port Arthur. Hummers make a skirmish line and advance towards the lighthouse. LAV stays back 100 yards and will give support fire. Bradley will stay on original side of the river and advance with the team. The Bradley was too heavy to cross the bridge, so it will give fire support to the team if needed.

Bravo 2-6 is on the far left flank and the gunner is aiming at 2 sentries. The balance of the .50cal hummers are aiming at the 2 tents and jeeps that are beside the lighthouse. Bravo 1-6 will fire their 40mm at the SAM.

At 30m out the sentries are alerted by the oncoming team and we open fire. In the first 3 rounds the assault is a Turkey shoot. By the time the team is at the lighthouse the 2 tents and 2 jeeps have been destroyed. Bravo 1-6 lets out 10 rds of 400 HE at the SAM and various scattering Mexicans and scores a direct hit on the SAM.

The Bradley see’s a few Mexicans attempting to get into the AA guns, so it lets out a 100 rds from the 242 Bushmaster 25mm and stops all people in its way.

In the mean time Bravo 2-6 has scored hits on the sentries and has now stopped on the teams left flank. The 2 medics on board (driver and commander who is Cpt. Chan) set up a perimeter behind the Humvee and await the call for medics. Lt Col Cheung`s Humvee sets up beside the Light house and Bravo 3-6 and 4-6 are instructed to enter the lighthouse and go to the top where the Radar equipment is at. They are to destroy it all, however if they take resistance they are to come back to the entrance and set the c4 around the base and blow the light house.

LVI
01-25-2012, 09:32 PM
By 0425 HRS they enter the light house with Medic Chan behind. Bravo 6 actual will cover the entrance and Bravo 1-6 has troops on the ground confirming the kills of the enemies.

0426 HRS - Just as the teams enter they start taking fire from inside. 2 members of bravo 3-6 are immediately hit. The team pulls back and Bravo 6 actual will pull up, front right facing the entrance. As the teams back up they throw a few frags into the opening. As the frags blow and the 2 wounded soldiers are pulled out of harm’s way, a burst of fire from inside hits Bravo 6 Actual. (GM rolls the required 1% for a human hit on blind fire). While commanding from the passenger seat, Lt Col Cheung gets hit by a bullet. He feels the bullet hit his left shoulder. It passed thru his M82 and has inflicted 4 points of damage. He quickly applies pressure and scans for the enemies.

Meanwhile the LAV notices 2 bodies on the light house roof with RPG`s, and it lets out 100 rds at the roof. The engineers will need 4 mins to set the c4. Meanwhile the 2 wounded members of Bravo 3-6 are being triaged by the medical team.
- Member one took a thru and thru on his left knee. He is missing most of it and is unconscious. The blood loss has been incredible as the bullet destroyed an artery. Cheung applies bandaging but he will eventually die.
- Member 2 took a shot in his Pelvis. Cheung applies a clot gel and morphine.
-
0431 HRS - The wounded are quickly placed into the medical Humvee and all vehicles leave the projected blast radius.

0432 HRS - Engineers blow the c4 and the light house falls. Bravo 2-6 stays with the LAV back about 100 yards from the target area. The balance of the team goes back to mop up. Lt. Col Cheung confronts Cpt Cheung and he will quickly bandage him up.

0435 HRS - The team calls for an immediate medivac for their 2 wounded. The request is denied. The LAV and Bravo 2-6 make their way back to the team.

0515 HRS – Cpt. Chan call time of death for member 1.

0520 HRS - Cpt. Chan removes the bullet from Lt Col Cheung`s shoulder. Does a quick stitch and gives Advil for the pain.

0600 HRS - Medivac has been confirmed and by 0615 HRS wounded member 2 has been taken away.

The team does security until back up arrives via PBR and Tug boats at 1200 HRS. Thru the past 6 hours the radio has been nonstop with talk of precise Mexican Artillery on the Wal-Mart and Orange county airports. These 2 locations are inflicting major damages to the US and they don’t know where it`s coming from.

At 1300 HRS a UAV has spotted 2 artillery batteries at teh Oak Bluff region in the Nederland – Port Arthurs region.

1500 HRS - The team is advised of the co ordinates of the artillery battery and they are to go to the specified grid and destroy the guns.

OPERATION #2 – OAK BLUFF ARTILLERY BATTERY

The team is to advance NE to the Oak Bluff national park where 6- 155 mm howitzers are located. These guns need to be destroyed so the US units can continue their advance. The UAV`s show 6 guns, 4 machine gun nests, 2 of them at the entrance and one BMP-3 and approx 50 soldiers.

The team will have access to 2 - I.R. Guided missiles launched from their base in Louisiana. Upon destroying the guns they are to advance to the southern portion of Beaumont TX and reconnect with their units.

The Northern Battery has a machine gun nest 10m north of it. There is another nest 10 m south and the southern nest is another 10m, the nests are shaped like a “L”. There are 2 nests at the entrance to this location about 20m south west of the Southern battery. At the entrance is a BMP3 and there is a road going north to the other battery. Between the road and both batteries are 2 parking lots.

Bravo 6-6 Heavy will engage the BMP with the Hellfire. Afterwards it will advance to the Northern battery, assist in destroying the Northern nest and call for the Missiles. The M2 has a Vehicular laser designator on it, so it will mark the northern target.

Bravo 5-6 Heavy will take out the first nest and then proceed to the southern battery and take out the middle nest, then fire on the southern battery.

Bravo 6 Actual will assist the LAV.

Bravo 1-6 will proceed north down the parking lot and protect their assaults northern portion.

Bravo 2-6 will take out the farthest nest and wait at the entrance for wounded.

Bravo 3-6 is to help take out the middle nest, and then assist on the southern battery.

Bravo 4-6 is to go counter clockwise around both nests thru the wooded fields and assist from the far right the assault of the northern battery.

1630 HRS – Assault starts. M2 hits on all 4 Hell fires on the BMP. It’s destroyed. Bravo 5-6 Heavy uses 100 rds on the nest and rips it to pieces. Bravo 2-6 manages to get a few hits on the far nest. Capt. Chan gets out and throws a grenade and empties a magazine in to it.

All units then advance to their designated locations. However after the M2 takes out the Northern nest and turns on the Northern battery, personnel from within the battery notice what is happening and start taking defensive action against us.

Bravo 3-6, already down personnel attacks the middle nest. However they start taking fire from the Northern Battery and a round manages to penetrate thru the door and in th the drivers gut. The Humvee veers left for a few meters and then stops.
Bravo 3-6 calls for medical help from Bravo 2-6. 2-6 proceeds to 3-6. While this is happening the M2 calls for the missile strike and is told “ETA 2 mins for the first, then 3 minutes later the 2nd”.

Bravo 3-6 driver is severely injured, so the passenger and rear right engineer get out and go to the driver side door and pull him out and drag him to the rear. The .50cal in 3-6 is cover firing.
As the driver is pulled out another round hits him, this time left upper chest. Seconds go by and 2-6 pulls up behind 3-6’s humvee. Sgt Derry is using cover fire from the .50cal too at the soldiers of the Northern Battery.

Meanwhile 4-6 and 6-6 Heavy use up a few hundred rounds into the Northern battery to suppress them.

As the wounded driver of 3-6 is being dragged to 2-6, the right soldier (rear engineer) is hit by a bullet. He drops immediately. Capt. Chan goes to him and picks him up. He then carries him back to 2-6. Meanwhile as he did drop, the other engineer picked up the driver and also carried him to 2-6.

2-6 makes its way back to the entrance and the gunner of 3-6 drives the humvee to the entrance too.

A minute later the first missile destroys the Northern battery. When this happens Lt Col Cheung takes his portable laser designator and marks the Southern battery. A few minutes later it hits.

A few minutes go by and members of 1-6 and 5-6 Heavy confirm the death toll and the destruction of the 155’s.

Meanwhile, Medic Chan assesses the 2 wounded.
- Driver took a hit to the Liver, thru the body armor. Cheung rolls against PARMED-HARD and fails! He miss diagnoses this injury. The drivers 2nd wound is in his left lung. Once the body armor is taken off they discover a sucking chest wound. Time of death is called at 1645 HRS.
- The Engineer was shot in the lower Abdomen. Cheung rolls against PARMED-HARD and successfully diagnoses the injury. He administers a clot gel, morphine and pelvis brace. He is put on a spinal board and strapped into Bravo 2-6.
1700 HRS - Red Striker 1-9 advances towards Beaumont, TX.

1830 HRS - Team reaches Beaumont, TX and discover the engineer has passed away.

Red Striker one radios main unit.

Love this thread - if its ok I may start a thread of my own detailing the game we played that went for quite a while before it folded up. Love the details here. Wish I had written it all down but remember a lot of it - and we actually did the Black Madonna first and then Krakow (mainly because of the choice of roads we took during the break out)

Love how it brings back memories - keep going please

I'm glad ppl are still reading my thread. We are still a group but we just haven't been able to hook up since our February campaign. Which btw is still in note form on my desk. I just need the time ro write it up and post it.

We generally meet up one sunday night a month, but my family was sick with the flu and I had to cancell. We are trying to arrange for april but it probably won't be until may again. But then we'll do 2 in a month to kinda catch up.

The note taking, for us, is easy as my secretary has roleplayed with me since junior highschool. Afterwards he gives me his chicken scratch and I translate it onto a spreadsheet. My goal is to have a book one day, lol.

I will do my best this weekend to get our last meeting done and uploaded onto the site.

Later.

OPERATION #3 – BRIDGES OVER TROUBLED WATERS

2100 HRS – Red Stryker 1-9 meets with elements of the Eastern Front Recon teams and they create a secured camp at the Municipal airport. Not too much remains of the airport. Craters on the tarmac and no buildings are standing.

November 1st
0000 HRS – The balance of the Eastern front arrives.

0100 HRS – Lt. Col Cheung is briefed by Gen. Hall and his advisors.
Red Striker 1-9 is given orders to Recon 2 major bridges West along I-10. The first at Cove, TX and the second at Channelview, TX. The General advises him that UAV intelligence has shown the bridges are still intact and now we need our Engineers to take a look see and determine if our units are able to cross them. The Eastern teams’ day 2 goals are to get to the Sam Houston Parkway / East Fwy intercept and split into 2.

0120 HRS – Lt.Col Cheung quickly tells the team to get some sleep and at 0600 HRS he will brief them on the mission.

0600 HRS – Lt.Col Cheung now briefs his team on their upcoming mission. They are to recee two bridges at Cove, TX and Channelview, TX and get our engineer team the ability to determine if they are able to be crossed. The bridge at Cove is about 40 km west of Beaumont, TX and is approx 1.6 KM in length and has some type of towers located at both entrances and in the middle. Possibly a command / watch tower by Russian or Mexican forces.
The 2nd bridge is located 15KM west of the 1st bridge and is located at the Lynchburg reservoir in Channelview, TX. This bridge is only 200m

LVI
05-15-2012, 03:05 PM
Our primary obj is to secure the bridges and allow for engineer units from within our squad to look at the bridges to determine if they are ok to cross. Our secondary obj are to take out all enemies. As for the enemies themselves, they have been seen around the bridges however we are unable to pinpoint there nationalities. Because the bridges are too valuable to lose there is no support available. However if they are away from the bridges and require support they do have access to land based IR missiles from Louisiana. Once both bridges have been secured the team is required to radio Battalion and wait for them to reach them. This mission needs to be completed before 1800 HRS
*Also noted is the fact that we lost 2 team members yesterday, both from
Bronco 3-6, so a member of Bronco 4-6 now joins 3-6. Now they each have 4 members. The current weather is nothing like the Gulf area has been use to. The temp. is expected to be around 35 degrees and very overcast / windy from the gulf.**

0610 HRS - The Lt.Col also give the team a update of the invasion as a whole:

The Eastern Fronts 2 primary objectives are close to being taken. Both the Walmart at Bridge City and the Orange county airport will be secured by 1200 HRS.
The Northern Front was able to advance with little to no resistance and has reclaimed Wako, TX.
The Southern Front (Strike force Alpha) has been unable to secure the beachfront at Brownsville, TX. Due to the poor logistics of the ships they are using to the lack of proper landing crafts. As of 0400HRS approx 70% of the TF has landed but they are facing almost 25% casualty rates. Where they are having limited success is with the limited air support from the John C. Stennis air wings.
(Strike force Bravo), the USMC element, as of 0400 HRS claims to control 80% of the harbour and bay area of Corpus Christi, TX. This includes Oso Bay, Truax airfield and as far south as Waldron field. And they figure by the end of day to control the southern portion of the city as far north as the cross town expressway and east towards Del Mar college.
0625 HRS – Red Striker 1-9 starts on their way down I-10 towards their first objective.

0650 HRS - The team is now 1KM away and start there Reccee. They notice 2 -1 story make shift command towers located at the entrance to the bridge. In front of each tower is a foxhole with both sandbag and concrete defences. There is nobody in the foxholes. Lt.Col Cheung decides to send in bronco 1-6 to take out the left tower and bronco 3-6 to take out the right. Bronco 6 Actual and bronco 4-6 will wait in the wings as support and Bronco 2-6 will stay back in case of medical. Bronco 5-6 heavy and 6-6 heavy will guard there rear.

LVI
05-15-2012, 03:07 PM
0700 HRS – The 2 teams attack immediately after the LAV unloads 100 rds of their 7.62mm into the towers and the M2 unloads smoke at the towers. Bronco 1-6 drives full speed towards the left tower and immediately starts taking small arms fire. The gunner, (PFC Cecil Hebert) unloads 10 rds from his MK19 into the tower. *Cecil is a Newbie to role playing and his rolls suck*. He gets 2 hits and both are on the second floor.
It appears to bronco 1-6 that once they get to the entrance the entire left portion has been destroyed by the 40mm. The team now gets out of there humvee and breaches the door into the tower. After a flash bang is thrown into the entrance they enter and notice a ladder leading up. They throw another flash bang upstairs (approx 8’) and Cecil leads the way up the ladder.
Once at the top he scans the towers 2nd floor. He sees a dead body to his right and he proceeds to take 2 steps inwards when a Mexican national comes at him with his rifle butt. Meanwhile a 2nd soldier has now climbed up the latter and is getting his M16 ready. Cecil is surprised and his coolness under fire is a 2 so he takes the butt to his head, but it actually hits his helmet. No damage.
Cecil regains his composure and managed to defend himself on the Mexicans next strike. Cecil takes down the Mexican and then he pulls his .45 out and unloads a magazine at him, hitting him twice, once in the face.
Bronco1-6 then secures there tower.

Meanwhile Bronco 3-6 goes full speed towards there tower. 3-6 gunner unloads 20 rds from their .50 into their tower. Once at the entrance they get out, breach the door and proceed to take out the occupants of their tower. However they are taking some serious fire so Bronco 6 actual and Bronco 2-6 are called for backup. But before they arrive a well thrown M-26 grenade blows up and takes out the 3 surviving Mexicans upstairs.

0720 HRS - The first 2 towers have been secured. They obviously caught them by surprise, however looking down the bridge at approx 750m they notice 2 more identical towers. This time they know we are coming. Since the bridge hasn’t been cleared to let heavy armour on Lt.Col Cheung makes the tough decision of not allowing either Heavy onto the bridges until the bridge has been cleared. Then the team quickly discuss how they want to proceed.

0730 HRS – It’s been decided to allow both heavy’s to the base of the bridge and possibly support the advancement if needed. Then bronco 6 actual and bronco 1-6 will advance on the left side towards the tower. Cecil will support with the MK19. Bronco 3-6 and 4-6 will advance on the right side.

LVI
05-15-2012, 03:08 PM
0731 HRS – The meeting has been interrupted by gunfire directed at the team. Hastily the teams rush their new objectives. Capt. Chan yells at Sgt Derry to get his Barrett out and to see if he can support the attack. Bronco 2-6 will stay back at the entrance with the heavy’s.

0733 HRS – Bronco 3-6 & 4-6 get to their tower first and with the least amount of resistance. Shortly afterwards Bronco 6 Actual and bronco 1-6 just arrive. They are greeted by small arms fire from the tower.

** As the teams are approaching the mid bridge towers Sgt Derry is able to take out 2 soldiers with his Barrett. These soldiers were ½ covered by the foxhole sandbags at the base of the left tower. **

As Bronco 6Actual approaches and turns to a 45 degree right they take serious rounds from the enemy. To their 6 o’clock is bronco 1-6 starting to unload with Cecil’s 40mm MK19. Bronco 1-6 is also starting to take rounds. However once the 40mm start hitting the tower the rounds slow up.
Bronco 6Actual has taken hits. The Left rear passenger has taken a 5.56N round to his right forearm. And the .50cal gunner has been hit by a .50cal (ironic). He was hit in his right Bicep, ripping the lower part of his arm off and causing major bleeding. Immediately the gunner is knocked unconscious and falls down the gun port and onto the right rear passenger. Lt.Col Cheung calls immediately for Bronco 2-6!
Upon hearing the call, Bronco 2-6 rushes to the midpoint towers without
Sgt Derry. The Sgt will continue with support with his Barrett.

Meanwhile Bronco 3-6 and 4-6 proceeds to take out their tower. 4-6 puts down a fury of fire onto their tower and 3-6 will breach the entrance and upon the breach will wait for the clear call from 4-6. Then they climb the ladder and clean up. They also assist by firing on the Left tower from there tower. Once the firefight is over they manage to find one live Mexican soldier. 3-6 escorts him down and to there Humvee.

Bronco 2-6 makes it to the towers just as the firefight has finished. Capt. Chan immediately goes to the right rear door and assesses the passenger. He appears to be tangled up with the gunner and he is full of blood. It takes Chan a few seconds to realize that this soldier has been trying to subdue the bleeding of the gunner and the blood on him is from the gunner. Once he realises this, he gets the passenger out and assess the wounded Gunner. Rolling against PARMED: HARD has successfully diagnosed the injury. The soldier is unconscious and bleeding out. He tries to stabilize him but within a minute the gunner has died.
Meanwhile the other medic, the driver and an EMT goes to the left rear passenger who is now outside of the humvee. He successfully rolls and stabilises him. Once Chan is finished with the now KIA, he determines that the other wounded has a broken forearm from the bullet as well as a bullet wound, thru and thru. Chan administers meds and wraps the wound.

0800 HRS - Cheung now interrogates the POW. He gains little in the way of major Intel but enough to determine what to expect in the way of resistance at the last set of towers 750 m away. Cheung blindfolds the POW, and ties his hands. He will put the POW with the wounded and KIA into 2-6; and they are taken back to the Heavy’s to drop off. Then 2-6 will p/u Sgt Derry and head back to the ½ way point.

*** Cecil notices once the firefight is over 2 dead Mexican soldiers that were hit by Derry’s Barrett. One has a gaping hole where his right shoulder/Trap once met. He bled out instantly. The other’s right arm is almost off at the Bicep. His M16 is still gripped in his hand. He too has died from a loss of blood. ***
0815 HRS – Bronco 1-6 gives a soldier to Bronco 6Actual and they again advance to the right tower. Bronco 3-6 and 4-6 takes the right tower and this time
Bronco 2-6 will advance from behind down the middle. Derry will fire the .50cal at any targets.

Bronco 1-6 and 6Actual once again take fire, but very limited and all small arms. Once they get close enough Cecil unloads another salvo of 40mm into the left tower. He gets 8 hits and the tower implodes and they are still 30m out.

Bronco 3-6 and 4-6 start taking fire from their tower. However as the left tower has imploded Cecil now directs his remaining 10 rds onto the right tower. 3-6 and 4-6 get to the entrance once the 40mm have stopped. They can see that there are Mexican soldiers retreating into the city on the other side (approx 20 m) away. 6Actual tells them to follow. Meanwhile 1-6 is told to breach the right tower.
Cecil reloads his MK19 and 2-6 is now beside 1-6 and will cover with there .50cal while 1-6 driver, commander and rear passenger go and breach the tower.

After they open the door and have thrown a flash bang in they enter. The first 2 soldiers in are immediately shot from above and the 3rd who hasn’t entered yet yells “Ambush, 2 down” and proceeds to blind fire into the entrance.

Sgt Derry unloads his .50cl into the tower and Ct Chan runs to support the 1-6 commander. As does both the driver and commander of 6Actual (Lt Col Cheung).
However Derry’s rounds are effective enough to successfully kill any survivors left in the tower. Cheung also calls for 2 M26 grenades to be thrown upstairs too just as a precaution. Once 6Actual is able to secure the tower, Capt. Chan and the other EMT manage to pull the 2 wounded soldier out and start to treat.
0830 HRS – Capt. Chan has rolled against his PARMED: HARD and discovered that one of the soldiers (the rear passenger) has a entrance wound at the base of his neck, thru his body and out his rectum. Thou he will die almost immediately for the short while he is still alive he is a Quadriplegic. The 2nd has a sucking chest wound PARMED: ESY and Chan administers a clot gel, morphine and tells Lt.Col Cheung that we need a medivac ASAP.

Cheung radios for an immediate EVAC with 2 priority WIA and 1 serious WIA, 1 Friendly KIA and 1 POW. Battalion confirms and will send in a UH60 shortly.

*** In total 50 rds of 40mm HE, 200 rds of .50cal, 5 x flash bangs, 7 x M26 Frags, 5 rds .50 (Barrett), 400 rds 5.56N and 100 rds of 7.62N were used by
Red Striker 1-9 to successfully take the 1.6 km long interstate Bridge. ***

0830 HRS – 1330 HRS: The remaining engineers from 3-6 and 4-6 inspect the bridge for any signs that our heavy armour is unable to be supported. There conclusion is the bridge is fine and any affects that linger from the nukes that went off a few years earlier would’ve been noticed.

0850 HRS – Medivac arrives with another 4 - UH60. They have a platoon dropped off to stay as sentries.

1400 HRS – The weather has turned for the worse. Light rain mixed with flurries of snow have started, making driving and climbing very difficult. Plus there is a cold front from the North about to collide with the southern winds off of the Gulf.

1405 HRS – Red Striker 1-9 regroups and continues towards the bridge at Channelview, TX.

1420 HRS – The lead Humvee (Bronco 1-6) Geiger meter starts going off. Everybody’s Geiger’s start going off. All players roll for RADS.

1430 HRS – Red Striker 1-9 reaches the Channelview Bridge. After spending the next 30 minutes observing the bridge for hostiles they agree to send a Recon team onto the bridge, cross it and observe the far side.

1515 HRS – The recon team reaches the far side without contact. After briefly setting up a small compound they radio for group 1 to cross (Bravo 1-6, 2-6 and
5-6 Heavy). Once they are across they expand their perimeter.
The balance continues to maintain a perimeter on the east side of the bridge.

1530 HRS – 1800 HRS: Engineers inspect the bridge and afterwards their conclusion is the bridge is safe for our armour to cross.

1800 HRS – Lt.Col Cheung radios battalion and informs them that they have reached their destination and that the bridges are safe to cross.

*** The team rolls 1d6 for every 1 hour they are in the radiation area. They are forced to stay for 3.5 hrs, therefore roll 1d6 x3 for rads ***
Upon radioing Battalion the team advances approx 9 KM west until they reach the Sam Houston / East Fwy connector. Its approx here where there Geiger’s are no longer picking up Rads.

1930 HRS – Recon units from the Eastern forces meet up with Red Striker 1-9, who has set up a perimeter1/2 km east of the connector, located at the Triumph Hospital Parking lot.

2015 HRS – The main units have now arrived. The elements of the East force are now starting the long process of refueling and getting more ammo. The Logistical units that come with group refuel and give some ammo to Red Striker 1-9. Fuel isn’t the issue but ammo is.

2100 HRS – It is a now a snow storm outside. Temps have dipped to 25 degrees.

2200 HRS – Lt.Col Cheung has a meeting with the General and his advisors. He briefs them on the mission. It’s been noted that thru the past 40 HRS his team has lost the following: 3 – KIA, 2 – Critical WIA, 1 serious WIA = 6 total. Furthermore Cheung asks for some reinforcements. The General informs his aides to assign him some reinforcements.

2300 HRS – 2 – USAR (MOS 1x infantry, 1 – Logistics), 1 – US Army 3rd cav. Reg. Ft Hood, TX (MOS Engineer E-8 first Sgt.) and CIA agent Miller greet Lt.Col Cheung and inform him that they are now part of Red Striker 1-9.

2330 HRS - The team tries to sleep as there is a major briefing at 0400 HRS.

November 2nd
0400 HRS – Agent Miller, Lt.Col Cheung and Cpt. Chan meet with Colonel Bennett and the General to discuss the day’s actions.

“As of 0300 HRS elements of the Northern front’s recon units have arrived at George Bush Intl. Airport with zero resistance. We are now sending 80% of the Eastern Front to meet with them and set up a new FOB. The balance will advance south to Ellington AFB, or what’s left of it. There they will set up another perimeter and await further instructions.” Red Striker 1-9 will be part of the advance south to Ellington AFB. The Eastern fronts and the Northern fronts WILL unite at George Bush Intl airport this morning. Damn this weather but we must not fail! However the Southern front (strike force Alpha) has run into serious troubles. Due to the lack of proper landing equipment, stronger than expected resistance and the horrible weather there advance has stopped! They are experiencing almost a 50% casualty rate. Only 75% of the forces were able to land and there inward push has all but stopped!
Strike force brave on the other hand has successfully driven the majority of their enemies west and currently have men on guard at the Corpus Christi Intl Airport. They have recon elements advancing to Cal Allen and Robstown and control the entire Harbour. Our units move at 0600 HRS”.

0500 HRS - The snow has let up for now, but the road conditions are horrible. Plus there is a warm breeze from the gulf creating a wet humid mist in the air. Making visibility very, very difficult. The temp is sitting at 19 degree F and isn’t expected to warm much higher than 32 degrees.

Sorry for anybody who's been paying attn to my thread, but ive gotten really lazy. So here is a new story line, but i still have 2 more to create. I will try to get those done before Sept 15 (our teams next meeting)

Chapter 7 – Operation New Texas Dawn part 3

OPERATION #4 – INVASION: ELLINGTON AFB

Overview: As of Nov.2nd the weather isn’t expected to let up, so the 3 battalions from the Northern front will advance without support west. 1st and 2nd battalions will go straight to San Antonio while 3rd battalion will advance to Austin. Currently all 3 battalions are at George W. Bush waiting for word. These 3 battalions will depart at 0700 hrs.

The Eastern front will send 3rd battalion, incl. their support battalion (under strength) and Red Striker 1-9 south to Ellington AFB once the weather lets up. ETA is sometime in the next few days.

November 4th
0100 HRS - Word has come down to the team that even though the west ward advance is slow we are continuing with the southern assault at 0500 hrs.

0430 HRS – Word starts to come across the radios that the assault towards San Antonio has been ambushed by the Russian forces just miles before they reached their target. No word yet on the status of 3rd battalion.

0500 HRS – 3rd battalion starts is southern advance to their objective. They have been briefed and expect minimal resistance. Joining Red striker 1-9 is CIA agent Miller. Agent Miller is in Bronco 6-Actual and has Intel regarding the base.

0600 HRS – 3rd battalion arrives to their pre-strike co-ordinates. Elements of 3rd battalion are units from the 1st armoured division. They have been split into 3, with the main force (4-M1A1, 4 – M2, 4 - M113 and 2- HMMVW) striking thru the Northern end of the base.

The battalions M60 tanks (4 – M60, 8 – HMMVW) will be striking from the south thru the fence line and Red striker 1-9 plus the majority of the HMMVW(x18) and 2 M-1 Abrahams will attack from the west (front gates) where they expect the least amount of resistance. The strike will commence at 0800 HRS when 2 – A10’s will drop there ordinance on selected targets to open up the AFB’s fences and berms that have been made by the Mexican Nationals. Once the A10’s have unloaded all 3 sections will advance to their targets from there waiting area, approx. 2 km’s away.

The main objectives of the strike is to take control of the AFB and its 2 main hangers. Red Striker 1-9 will take control of the outer gates and the bases inner gate 1km away. Then advance into the airbase and assist in the taking of the hangers.

0800HRS – Right on time (with overcast and light rain 34F) the A10’s strike and the advance is on. Within minutes Red Striker has reached the main gates and faces immediate resistance form 1 – M48 tank entrenched and various RPG tank hunter teams. The column is led by the 2 – M1’s, so the M48 is taken out quite quickly.

0810 HRS – Red Striker advances past the outer gate with no casualties. But the main hwy the team is on has a 100 degree turn left to enter the main outer gates then there is a 1 km straight stretch until they reach the inner gates. The immediate 4 groups of 2 vehicles manage to turn in to the 1 km stretch without any resistance. (2 – M1 / Bronco 5-6 & Bronco 6-6 / Bronco 6-Actual & Bronco 1-6 / Bronco 2-6 & Bronco 3-6). All units behind them start taking heavy fire from Mexican units that were waiting until they could strike.

In the first salvo, 50% (9/18) of the HMMVW from behind are hit by RPG’s and HMG.

0811 HRS – The southern team radio heavy resistance and that 2 of their 4 M60s are destroyed and the balance of the team is trapped and taking fire from all directions. Not knowing the resistance Red striker is facing in the latter parts of their column Lt.Col Cheung advances 4-HMMVW from there column to advance south and not to turn with their team. These 4 HMMVW never make it the 1km south to help out. Around the same time, Cheung is unable to make radio contact with the Northern teams.

0815 HRS – in the first 100m one of the rear HMMVW has been hit by an RPG, thus bringing the number up to 14/18 HMMVW now destroyed.

0816 HRS – 200m mark Red Striker losses another 2 - HMMVW from the rear of the column. Unknown to Bronco 6-actual, the team has lost control of the outer gate and the balance of the HMMVW behind Bronco 4-6 & Charlie 6-1 ,and Charlie 6-2 & 6-3 are all now in flames. The few soldiers that had jumped out are in a fierce fire fight.

0817 HRS – 300m mark and Tango 1 (right M1) takes a RPG and is disabled. However Tango 2 manages to fire an rd down range at a M48 waiting at the inner gates. Direct hit!

0818 HRS – 400 m mark and no hits, but the column is held up while the crew of Tango 1 jump onto Bronco 5-6. Meanwhile the units in the southern advance call for a full retreat while somebody get onto the radio from the Northern advance and advise whoever is listening that there advance is over and they have lost all vehicles. Agent Miller speaks up and advises Lt.Col Cheung that we need to retreat ASAP.

0819 HRS – 500m mark and Bronco 6-6 takes a RPG blast and stops in its tracks. Before the crew is able to dismount and get out it blows into a fireball! Since the column is now stopped due to this, another RPG manages to hit the team, this time from behind. Taking out Charlie 6-2. The blast form bronco 6-6 knocks Bronco 2-6 onto its side (driver side). Captain Chan and SSgt Derry manage to get out without injury, but the driver is knocked unconscious behind the wheel. Derry and Chan attempt to retrieve him, while Bronco 2-6 takes heavy small arms fire. This causes it to start on fire.

0820 HRS – In the chaos of this firefight, Cheung turns to Miller and asks him “Why are you here, and what do you know?” Miller tells Cheung that if this mission was to fail, he has the permission to call in a tactical nuke to the AFB. “Cheung, your team was a pawn, used to probe the strength of what was here” Cheung is pissed and says that they are not retreating just so we can launch ANOTHER nuke onto American soil!. Miller states that there is only one shot at this!

0821 HRS – Derry and Chan now have the driver out and move him to Bronco 3-6. Meanwhile another 2 RPG blasts hit, this time killing Charlie 6-3 and Charlie 6-1.

0822 HRS – 600m mark and a lucky grenade shot from a 40mm hits Bronco 1-6 in the rear right axle. The crew gets out and jumps onto Tango 2. Cheung assesses the situation. Units remaining: Tango 2, Bronco 5-6 Heavy, Bronco 6-Actual, Bronco 3-6 and Bronco 4-6. Cheung glares at Miller and radios “All units, full retreat, I say again, full retreat! Code word Winter Bobsled!” Miller tells Cheung that all units need to be at least 2 km away from the AFB in over to not be in the immediate blast. Miller also says to Cheung that he will not call in the strike until we are off base.

Cheung advises his driver that at the 700m mark there is a road going west and to turn there and pin it to the rendezvous point. Cheung radios what’s left of his team to turn at the 700m mark and pin it. Bronco 6-actual turns and waits for his entire team to turn. Tango 2 turns and when he does cuts off Bronco 5-6 Heavy. 5-6 takes a RPG to the rear axil of the LAV and it is now unable to move. The crew gets out and jumps onto Bronco 3-6 and 4-6 which make their way around the LAV and once past 6-Actual, peel there way south until they reach the chain link fence.

0826 HRS – Bronco 6 Actual, Bronco 3-6 and 4-6 and Tango 2 make their way back to the HWY, where they proceeded to go to the primary meeting point. Once there they wait until 1000 HRS before Miller will make the call. During this time all radio contact with the rest of the units in 3rd battalion has ceased and we are unable to make contact with Elements of the Eastern front at George Bush airport.

1000 HRS – No units arrive! Miller has a blast if conscious and decided against calling in the Tactical nuke. The team does a quick pow wow and decides to head west along the Sam Houston FWY.
Along there slow ride they do not encounter any resistance from the Mexicans, or from any local gangs & Militia (Texas Legions).

The maps of the region show Cheung and Miller of a large park near Cullens blvd just south of the Sam Houston. The team heads there. Just before the South FWY and the Sam Houston inner change the team notices a major blockade. At least 4 armor vehicles. But since they are about 1-2 km away they are not sure. So they turn off at Cullen blvd and head south a few blocks. At the corner of Cullen and Fellows they notice an old garage. They pull up and hide their vehicles in the 3 bay garages and leave 1 HMMVW outside.

1045 HRS - The team hastily sets up a CP and guards, plus a LP across the street. Chan does an inventory of the few medical supplies he has, as he lost all of the bulk gear he had in bronco 2-6. He has a fully stocked M82 med bag, plus 4 clot gels, 4 morphine auto injectors and 1 Epi pen. Plus the defib. There are 20 men, so Cheung sends out a 4 man patrol.

1300 HRS – Patrol returns with a wounded USA-R soldier. He has a broken clavicle and a thru and thru in his right quad. Chan assess with his PAR:MED(MED) and uses 2 clot gels for the quad and stabilizes his clavicle the best he can. Chan advises Cheung and Miller that he will need serious surgery in the next 36 hours our he’s gonna die.

1330 HRS – Patrol is advised to recon the South FWY and SAM Houston to see what kind or armour is there.
Meanwhile the team settles in for the long haul.

1930 HRS – The Patrol returns with word. It appears to be TL base of some kind. They didn’t realise that the Texas Legions had armor. But there is 6 technical, and approx. 2- M48 tanks positioned at either side of the bridge (which is still intact). But they were not able to get close enough as they had multiple patrols and an outer and inner compound.

I have some questions.

In a couple places, you said that the gunner in the LAV fired 100 rounds of 25mm HE at the bad guys. This seems a little excessive, but its been a LONG time since I've even read anything from 1st edition. How many rounds does the LAV carry? How many does your group of PC's have? How long does it take to fire that many rounds from the Bushmaster cannon? I remember how in 1st edition, every 'shot' was 3 rounds, but even taking that into account, if "fired 100 rounds of 25mm HE" isn't a typo, then your players expend ammo at a rate that makes even me a little sick (and I *love* to burn ammo, both in games and in real life). And how in the heck do they resupply?

Could you clarify this a little, please? Thank you.

I remember how in 1st edition, every 'shot' was 3 rounds...

That's only small arms (up to and including HMGs). Autocannons fire one round per "shot".

And how in the heck do they resupply?

Could you clarify this a little, please? Thank you.Sure. Firstly I run somewhat off edit. 1. Iirc I touch base slightly on this on my first few posts. The m242 has 3 fire modes, single, semi and full. It's something like 100 rds per minute. So the pc who ran the LAV decided for those cases to blast them up. I don't allow all rds to be hits, obviously but rather I have a predetermined qty that can hit per rd.
What I hate and try to avoid is the rpg trap during a firefight where the pc can shoot only "x" rds per combat rd and low and behold the enemy is killed off in 4 rds. Meanwhile the pc had only used half a magazine. So to try and have the pc experience the loss of ammo I tend to advise my pc's of ammo usage. Sometimes it might look like overkill, but otherwise they will never have that sensation of Needing more ammo.

But my pc's have a hard time replenishing there ammo, mess, food and fuel. I just don't type every single non essential phase of my games, especially since I usually type the minutes up a few months later based off the chicken scratch of notes Ed leaves for me.

I hope this answers and if need be I can clarify and even take advise from my other T2K brothers
