What are your best source materials for game reference?

A) this site. By far the most useful. I've done plenty of research for my f2f campaign from here.
B) wiki via google. Provided I know what I'm looking for it has so much info.
C) my t2k books and .pdf files. And I have them all.

D) several books by Concord Publishing (Nice pics!) and very few Osprey Men-at-arms and Elite.

Jeez, I have a small book room next to my room, with lots of reference material by various authors. And though they've treated me a little harshly (those who have been here a while know that story), Janes is still some of the best reference collections around, though you have to double check their information often. The internet is also a gold mine; sometimes some little thing I've seen here or even just heard a blurb about on TV or NPR will spark a web search that can go on for hours. I turn what I find into PDFs for later use. The collection of books that Gun Digest puts out provides a lot of fodder for future research, though you better do that additional research. Magazines such as Small Arms Review, Special Weapons for Military and Law Enforcement, Combat Aircraft, the Year in Defense series, Armor, Infantry, Soldier and Soldiers, Janes Defence Review and Asian Military Review (when you can get them), Defense Technology, Combat & Survival, and Air Power International are good for information. (And pay attention to the ads as well -- they can spark more research themselves.)

Of course, you never do your research from only one site or reference, if it can be at all avoided. You learn that if nowhere else the first year in college, and if you have a good educational system (like we used to have in this country), you learned that in 5th grade. (Oh well, don't get me started on the educational system in the present-day US.)

Mostly DoD material that needs to be fact checked against assumptions.

I am following one fellow who seems to have uploaded every US and several Allied FMs from WW2 and later.

Awesome material. The Dept of War seried Combat Lessons from 1941 - 1945.

The 1e boxed set, my copy of World's Greatest Aircraft, How to Make War (1991 edition, I think), uh...Sir John Hackett's two "WW3" books, you guys and the internet :)

Scribd to me is sort of a hit-or-miss resource -- I have a subscription, because I find enough interesting stuff to download -- but I rarely find what I was originally looking for. But in the process of what is more often than not a fruitless search from the standpoint of what I was originally looking for, I find lots of other interesting stuff that may be useful in the future or is worth downloading because it's just plain interesting or humorous. My advice is to get a Scribd subscription ($9 US per month), but don't expect to be able to use it like a document search engine -- it works nothing like a search engine like Google or Bing.
