View Full Version : T2K player looking for game
Isochron

I have rolled an American Special Forces Medic SGT using V1 rules, willing to re-role using what ever is best for the game. Would like to play Twilight 2K using Twilight 2K rules.
New or already going game is ok with me.
I don't like the idea of playing by post, seems like the game would move along very slow. Would prefer a regular once or twice a week on reasonably consistent days and times. My schedule is usually flexible. Live on Pacific Coast of US.

For those wondering, I would like the game to be voice over internet. I currently have TS3 and Skype and willing to get Ventrilo if needed. I am also willing to try and virtual table top that may be needed.

VTT is awesome the problem is coordinating with three different time zones and nailing down a date.

Well, I see a little interest, a second person wanting to be a player in a Twilight 2000 campaign.

Isochron and Guncrazy, don't be too disheartened. Many members here drop in only once in a while but if you bump this thread every week or 2 I'm sure you'll get more replies if you give it some time. I wish you both good luck in getting a game going or joining an existing game.

I'd be interested. Rolled a Canadian Corporal up for V1 recently.

I'd be interested, but it would be tricky with time zones- I'm 8 zones east of CA when I'm at home, and when I'm at work anything up to 6 zones further east, with an inconsistent work pattern...

We seem to be getting a player base, now we just need a person willing to be Game Master. I think 3-4 players isn't a bad start then add a couple more as the game progresses if the Game Master wants.

Hoping for a Game Master that would rather play on Voice Over Internet rather than by post. One or two days a week at consistent times.

Ive posted before that I woudl run VTT game.
Two problems:
1. Im in California (Pacific Mtn time) and nailing down a day that everyone can play.
2. I'd run REFLEX rules.
A new problem is I just started a PBP game that has me hopp'ng!!

Isochron's in PST himself; I don't know where guncrazy is located but I'm only in EST and am available a wide variety of hours. That said, I have no idea what REFLEX rules are.
To be honest though, while I'd be fine with VTT or OpenRPG, PBP is really my my style.

I'm in EST time as well. REFLEX rules are the ruleset for the twilight 2013 game.

I think we now have about 3 or 4 players interested in a voice over internet game, not a play by post game. All we need now is a game master and to work out when we can play. We can use Skype, TS3 or Ventrilo.
I have now rolled up a character for 2.2 as well.
So for Version 1.0 I have a US Army Special Forces Sgt who is a Medic.
and for Version 2.2 I have a USMC Force Recon Captain.
I have never looked at the 2013 rule set.
Some of not all of the other players have rolled up compatible characters as well.
The people, other than myself, that have expressed interest are;

Yeah, that's what I thought they were. I don't have v2.2 or 2013, though I think I got a guy who might be willing to part with some v2.2 stuff

I have the 2.2 version as a PDF that I can send to you if thats the rule set we end up using.

I'll roll up a character within the next few days (I'm in Beirut for work right now so I don't have access to printouts); I have v1 and v2.2 pdfs so I can use either ruleset. I've just installed skype, or I'd be keen to explore some of the virtual tabletop options.

Cool, still looking for a Game Master. Seems those are hard to find and thus we don't know which rule set we will be using.

I think Ill have to look into VTT a little bit, I have a WEIRD schedule but I have some ideas for running.
Also Isochron, you might look for game conventions in your area. I found a haul of T2k Players and GMs there. I even got to play for the first time in 17 years as opposed to running all the time.

I will have to check google once in a while for conventions. But until I find one I will have to keep this thread going.

Hey, I'm new to the forum, and to the game. Only played once over mIRC 6 months ago, with the V2 (2.2 I think?) rules. But I've read over the book so many times that I think I have a good idea of what to do. I've done some RP before in the past through mIRC, though never through voice-chat, so I'm interested.
At any rate, I was wondering if there was still interest in this, though I'm obviously looking to play, not GM (since I'm way too inexperienced). I have Skype, and I can probably get a hold of any other program. I'd have to see what we were doing and then I could break out a character.
I'm in Arizona, and in retail so my hours are screwy due to the holidays, but I have plenty of free time.

I still have my v 2.2 stuff saved on this computer, so I've generated up a US Army Ranger Staff Sergeant, but as for v 1, that was in my old computer that is now dead and gone.
Here's to this taking off, I'm eager to give this a go. I've only done RPG stuff either by posts or on mIRC, so I'm interested to see how this goes over voice.

Rnitze, you wouldn't by chance be willing to run a game over Team Speak 3 would you? I know of a AD&D tabletop that can be used for dice rolls and mapping unless you know of one more suited to T2K.

Doesn't look like much luck; the nearest for any type of game is two hours away.
And I can't find the topic anymore, but here's something related to the use of merchant ships in a nuclear disaster. (http://alternatewars.com/WW3/WW3_Documents/Post_Attack/USNRDL-TR-659/USNRDL-TR-659.htm)

Eh as u can tell by my limited time on even this site, i only really get to play a few times a year.... so not really, i do use TS3 though... my suggestion.... gather your materials and see who among u would ref a game... its actually not too bad.... just takes practice....

Hey wow, I remember that thread!
But seriously, I'm open to having another 1 or 2 players. Like Iso said, we're using the 1ed rules. We've already run one session, but I can work you in easily enough if you want in on it. We're using Skype to communicate and Google Maps as our game board, so it's slightly important you have a Google account.
It runs from 5PM-9PM American EST.
