The wife and I went to our local used bookstore today. She came back with 2 military sanitation manuals (1941 and 1944) and a MP's basic skills manual. She then read through them, commenting frequently to me, about building assault tactics, how to clear a room, and prevent clap amongst the men.
This is "research" for the game I've been running.
Am I lucky or what?
:)

Not my fault. Our minds dwell in the gutter naturally.

Hyu got that right. ANY player doing research is a beautiful thing, IMO. Double it for being the wife.

What is the recommended method for preventing STDs among the men?

You use a cotton swab at the end of a ten inch stick. The cotton swab is soaked in alcohol. Four orderlies hold down the patient while the Doctor uses this swab like a ramrod to scrub the patients urethra. Then a shot of penicillin.
The penicillin takes care of the clap, the procedure after repeated telling of by the Patient, assures an increase in prophylactic usage and decrease in whoring.

LOL! At least it beats the old mercury treatment!

That's what we used to call in the Army being "Rodded off the range."

I should not have read this before bedtime. Or at all.

I couldn't agree more. Brought a tear to my eye.

I've gone through the procedure plenty of times... it's no big whoop.

The manual was rather vague about the specifics, but this does explain why the book says that the patient should be sober for best effect.
You wouldn't want him to forget what happened.

OH and you have to go back to the doctor if there is still blood in your urine or the scrotum becomes distended with urine.
Signs of a tear in the urethra.
Sweet dreams!

Have you met anyone yet, who can self administer this treatment?
That's impressive.

I have seen a link to a .gif that is very relevant to that procedure... but it was very nasty and might also get me in trouble with the mods here.
Note - It wasn't MY link.
