Fellas, here's a page with a nuclear weapons effects simulator, which enables you to plot multiple detonations in a target area. Some weapons are historically added (Trinity, Hiroshima, Ivy Mike, Tsar Bomba, the Davy Crockett, and so on), but you can enter the yield and the target city, and adjust ground zero as needed.

Enjoy slagging cities, people. I did this morning (L.A., SF, NYC, and a few others).

I don't like this a bit. I used a 2.3 KT from the Cuban missile crisis on two targets I believe are in the listed targets and my house gets caught in both.

Wow, now thats a cool page.
Of course, I spent time trying to figure out just how large an area was wrecked in the Posleen series...

If anyone cares, here (http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/?lat=39.106472447285604&lng=-94.65040687499999&zm=2&kt=1000000000000) is what a 1 Exaton blast would do if set off in Kansas.
Thermal radiation burns for EVERYBODY ON EARTH.
I'm not sure if that circle in the middle of the southern Indian ocean is just some kind of stack overflow or if in fact it would be safe.
That's less nuclear weapon and more like "Ceres went wandering and smacked into us"

It's a shame it doesn't take into account the effects of hills and other intervening terrain.

Just for S&G I went the other way and threw in a "nuclear .22 shell" - something like .0000000025 Mt. The blast radius was a foot or so (zooming down to the scale where 1" = 5m, the blast radius barely took up a match-head sized point on the scale marker), the overpressure was like...a yard, maybe? Etc.
Everybody in 100m is still getting a nasty dose of radiation though.
Beware the guy in MOPP gear confidently carrying only one bullet! :D

Not exactly an instant kill though...
I'm sure that the "survivors" would very quickly rip that man to shreds in retaliation.

Would love to see a map of an EMP blast...

Do you think that could literally blow the atmosphere off the Earth?

Yes. I think it would be irrelevant if it didn't; a radiation pulse like that would leave whatever atmosphere that was left something other than the delicious argon/nitrogen/oxygen mix we know and love.
