I am starting up a PBEM campaign for Version 1. This will be a lite version where the idea is not to get bogged down on little detail. There will be twice weekly updates. If interested sign up on my forum or pm me.

Basically roll up a ver 1 character and equip with basic gear for your speciality (ie mechanic will have basic tool kit etc) but don't worry about food or other supplies. Also don't worry about a vehicle... you will get to chose one during the opening.

Hi,

Will you be looking after the rules aspect of things as GM (rolls, etc)? I'm interested, but have never played v1 (although I do have the original boxed set!)

I will have the players roll a bunch of dice ahead of time for some situations and apply the results (ie... i need 20 rolls of d100 - i will put those 20 rolls in order you list them - then when a situation calls for a roll - I roll d20 and use that result from my list)

Add me in too - still have my tank crewman that I rolled up but I weighted him to be specfically a tank crewman after we were told by the GM that we woudl have an M1A1 tank.

I can roll a new one that is more generic.

I'm interested. Do you have an idea or theme for the group? I'm interested in a salvage/recovery crew, with an M-88 and maybe a Humvee and deuce and half. Tank crew would also be fun.

We need another driver and the theme is based on the books for now... I want to see how many of the original modules we can get through. I am also looking for an ROTC officer to help screw up things.

Two years after TDM and they're still churning out ROTCs? I think all the new ones are dead. :)

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'd love to take part, so I uploaded Sgt Tyrone Bishop, a pigman. I'm PST, and if I'm not available, feel free to use him regardless. Thanks for putting this together!

Did you want us to equip them as well? I noticed one character did put up his full equipment. I put up just my main weapons as per your request, which in my case as an officer meant a rifle and a pistol.

Cdnwolf
05-06-2012, 06:05 PM
Like I said don't worry about equipment... this is a lite version of the game and we will assume you will have the equipment you need to get the job done... anything special will be rolled for.

Okay the first day actions are up and your input is needed for what happens next.

Olefin
05-07-2012, 10:02 PM
Two things - I added my input but cant see the map - is it the same as the original map in the boxed set?

Two - since you said we had whatever equipment we need how are we set for grenades or light anti-tank weapons?

Olefin

Wolf - sent you a message about the ammo load on the LAV25 - please take a look at it.

For anyone who would like to join us - this isnt a real time gaming but instead a variation of play by mail where we post our actions on a forum and then the GM does the rolls and tells us what happens and then we go from there.

Definitely have room for more PC's as we only have six. Love to have some more people join us.

I would love to see some additional players as well. With this style of gameplay, it seems like it would lend itself to a heavier player base than FtF games. So far the story seems solid, and the use of maps has been awesome. Come join us folks!

Major Johnson looked at his watch for the last time.... five...four...three...two...one...

Bam! Bam! Bam! Major Johnson smiled in satisfaction as he saw the gunner of the BMP-B slumped over and sank out of sight into the APC after Everest killed him. My turn, he thought as he turned back to the surprised sentry in his gunsight and pull the trigger. The guard was thrown backwards as the bullets slammed into his chest and abdomen. Out and down, Johnson thought!

Back by the APC, Bishop opened up with Ms Betty and grunted in satisfaction as his shots from the M60 tore the MG Gunner in half and made the loader dive for cover. The east side was fairly secure and Bishop signaled Everest to make for the BMP-B.

Over by the trucks, once the sound of the M60 started, Stokes took careful aim and launched a grenade from the M19 and swore as it overshot its target and landed too close to one of the trucks. The good news was that two of the remaining Russian APC crew members were caught in the blast and knocked down... the bad news was that the first truck was now on fire!

Diaz smiled as his shots drilled the Russian nearest him... "Thats how we do it in Hollywood!" he said softly and quickly moved to side of the truck ready to take out the soldier inside the truck with the girl. Loud grunting noises and a thud could be heard from inside the truck.

Cooke cursed as two of his shots went wild but was elated as his last shot hit his target in the head taking him down. He ran to the back of the truck that was on fire to provide back up for Diaz.

As Cooke get closer to the truck he sees that two of his shots went into the canvas sides and he notices there is no more noise coming from it. He backs up Diaz as Hollywood peeks into the back of the truck....

"WHAT THE FUCK" Hollywood exclaimed! In the back of the truck the naked russian was dead with the legs of an American soldier wearing a Rangers Patch on his shoulder wrapped around the Russian's neck. The Rangers hands were still tied behind his back. In the far corner, a young woman partially clothed was dead with a bullet from Cookes rifle in her.

"Sgt Bradley Patton Kowalski -Rangers .... at your service... NOW GET ME OUT OF HERE!!"

As Stokes switched over to his rifle, he cringed as shots from the last remaining soldier near the still opened fire on him. The shots went wild and Stokes fire a burst in reply. DAMNIT he thought as his shots hit all around the Russian.

Everest managed to make it to the BMP safely and opened fire on the remaining Russian by the machine gun.

Bishop continued to lay down controlled burst on the machine gunner.

From Johnson position far to the south he assessed the situation and decided that except for the truck on fire everything was under control, so he crawled to the soldier he wounded and scavaged as much as possible off the body after slitting the dying man's throat.

The APC commander and driver are still unconcious and the fire is starting to get bigger on the truck.

So please verify this for me. The GM/Admin will put the details of the characters actions in the "Battle part 1" section.

Then the characters are to put our subsequent actions in the "Player imput section".

Or are we to put our actions following the Admin's post in the Battle pt 1 section too?

Oh boy am i confussed.:p

Major Johnson and the rest of the team slipped and slid their way to an outcropping over looking the Warta River and looked upriver to the ford they needed to cross. At that point the river was about 3 feet deep and looked firm. The three vehicles could make it across no problem.

What was the big problem was the snout ... and the rest of a T-55 Russian tank sitting on a small bluff over looking the crossing. A small farm house with a barn and stable was also visible and at least 3 or 4 outpost guarded by marauders. Major Johnson seriously doubted their puny 30mm gun could even scratch the paint on the tank.

Okay guys I need to know who is using the AT-5 and where and what everyone else is doing. You decided that a twilight attack would be best because it will give you enough light to get into position before you attack. You can get a clear shot at the side of the T-55 at about 350m from one position but then those people have to move before they can attack the rest.

Please mark on the map where everyone is.

Ryan will stay in the BMP with the motor running waiting for the single to advance to the river edge and lay down fire.

Cdnwolf
06-05-2012, 04:25 PM
Stokes has the best chance with the AT-5 so he will move to the best position to hit the T-55. The AT 5 has only 2 rounds.

The BMP with Everest and Cooke are out of site on path ready to rush to waters edge and lay down covering fire.

Bishop and Kowalski will move to river's edge and set up M60 and PKM to lay down fire.

Diaz will stay back with Johnson and move forward once the BMP hits the river. They will seek and destroy anyone they can.

Nice to be back on the forum again - just wanted to post here and thank Cdnwolf for the opportunity to play again over the past few weeks. Has been interesting to say the least (including getting my character get blown out of a BMP that just ran over a mine!) Definitely taught me the essential role proper recon plays in the game! (luckily only with a banged up left arm to show for the lack of said proper recon - unfortunately not that good for Ryan)

Hmm wonder just how accurate I can be firing an M-16 one handed?

0800 - 0900 HR

Major Johnson looked down at the fever-wracked body of Ryan and the exhausted Diaz and thought that if they didn't get Ryan to a hospital or a real doctor by the end of the day he would be dead. Damnit, I don't care... next town we leave him and hope the locals get him the help he needs.

Cooke came over with the new guy Tanner and after looking at the map, Tanner in his broken English said that he remembers hearing that there was a doctor in the town of Radomsko. Only problem is that the town was under control of some marauders and the town folks hated them. Cooke then gave his good news... both vehicles were full of fuel... BUT now the large still is busted and thats all the fuel they have. The rough journey over the past two days took its toll on it.

With Everest out of action, Bishop, Stokes and Kowalski were taking a crash course on how to drive the 5 ton truck and the HMMWV and how to repair the beast. Bishop also rigged the PKM in the back of the truck and made sure the Browning was working on the HMMWV.

About 0900, everyone mounted up with Johnson driving the HMMWV with Kowalski on the 50 cal and Cooke in the passenger seat. All the extra personal weapons and the AT5 were in the back of the HMMWV. The 5 ton truck was driven by Tanner with Everest, Diaz and Bishop on the PKM in the back and Stokes riding shotgun with the rest of the weapons. Where to team?

AUG 03 2000 1200 HRS Radomoski Poland..

Ryan got comfortable as he could sitting on sandbag he put on his seat after the BMP incident and watched as the Tanner and UAZ pulled out heading south down the dirt road.

"Lets see what this beast can do", he thought as Cooke gave the order to start moving. Grinding gears and deciding to drive with the hatch open he cracked the throttle and set off slowly.

After an hour Ryan's attention was drawn to a small gauge whose numbers started creeping up slowly the further they went.

"Hey Cooke, what the hell does 'счетчик излучения' mean???" Ryan shouted up to the Captain.

"Its some sort of counter... measures outside air... why?"

"Well the further we go down this road the higher the counter is climbing... so what does it measure?"

"Ummm Ryan... it measures radiation level!!"
