OT - Fallen Earth

Played it a few years back, was a lot of fun and because it was tough to level up and did not have such lazy things as instantly packing/unpacking your vehicles into your backpack (instead you had to park them in a garage run by an NPC), the other players were really quite good (friendly, helpful and appreciative of the idea that you had to earn your way through life!)

Back then it had a crafting system and a skill system but the skill system was level based sort of like D&D and everybody could craft exactly the same stuff as everybody else. You could build your own vehicles (of a very limited variety) if you had the levels but again, everyone could build exactly the same as everyone else.

It's been through a few updates but I haven't been tempted back since it went Free-To-Play (F2P). It's been my experience on a few MMOs that over half the F2P players are whiny, selfish bitches who expect every other player to facilitate their desires and the game company to give them what they want. Because the game companies still need to make money, they sometimes give in to whiny players for fear of losing customers and the game becomes way to easy as a result.
