Just a quick question
On the army blue class "A" service uniform I notice that officer's have a colour on their rank bars.
I have only seen light blue, is that the standard colour or is it colour branch thing.

It's a branch thing....
Infantry is light blue.
Cavalry & Armor is yellow.
Artillery is red.
Medical is maroon.
Quartermaster is buff.

Yep, all about branch. :)
Blue: Brave but.. ;)
Red: Smart and Strong
Maroon: Smart, and really smart.
Buff: Profile Warriors
Yellow: Greatest, best, most awesome people on the planet. Chuck Norris wishes he was this good!
Yeah...
I think its pretty obvious what Branch I was in.

Isn't that the same colors they used to put on the stripe on a soldiers pants back in the days of the Civil War and through the Old West time period?

I believe that's still on the pants of the "mess dress" or "dress blue" uniform.

You have the color wrong for infantry -- it's blue, not yellow:p
