View Full Version : Player Aid /gaming Aids To Make Players Game Easier

As we already have a GMs AID thread with helpful links etc and the picture thread that helps a GM build his session I was thinking of something along the same lines for a player.
Many of the proposed posts are what makes some of the fun in the game so I guess not everybody will take to this thread.
I was thinking :
Player Character equipment lists : maybe several ,one for a light sneak patrol ,another for a battle type scenario -and then there are the climatic /enviromental variations. Some items will not be allowed /available by some GMs -but could easily be edited out in that case. I am thinking guns, ammo, supplies, gear, little tidbits to make it "human" etc maybe an explanation to some of it like " these things run on regular AA batteries that are common in civilian areas" etc
Player character contacts list: just a few names and ranks and words about some of the contacts a PC might have like " govt.contact: .Joshua Haider, age 38 ,IRS,Milwaukee, good hunter"
or "foreign military: Sgt.Ramiro Esteves,Columbia, age 29,heavy weapons specialist ,3.Inf.Regiment,Medellin,married to ex girlfriend."
Tips and advice : player sharing their strategies and advice to enjoy the game and keep the PC alive a little longer " always stay back with a sniper rifle -gets you further inm the long run" etc

well I m ust admit that having 2 double-barreled sawed of 10 gague shotguns has saved me a couple of times...mainly from other players...I allways load them with buck and slug in each just in case.....

10 gauge slug? Just in case huh? Please oh please tell me you meant to say other PCs rather than other players. Or do you Viking types treat gaming as a high stakes blood sport?

lol....characters were the rihjt word I was going for - players are more prone to alchahol induced knife demonstrations that end up on a trip to the hospital....as a side comment the wounuds are allways selfinflicted....

it wasn't a knife; it was a sword. It wasn't a demonstration; it was an act of defiance. I tried to warn you, I recall...
"You should be careful with the sword. Put it back in the scabbard, and let's play on."
"NO, it's my sword, let me show you something cool! Look what I can dooooOOOOOohhhh..."
"Don't tell me you cut yourself?! Is it bad?"
"I weed to fwee a dottor (finger in mouth)"
In the end we all had a good, hard laugh. That was shortly after you left, general "local" Pain. LOL

well what you really said was
"be carefull there..."
and I answered
"yes it's very sharp"..swoooosh----(ungh...)(silent scream)
(blood streaming everywhere like a cheap manga movie)
then HQ came back from the toilet and said
"can't I leave you guys for a moment without an incident"
It actually says on the medical report "cut himself on a wakishasi"
(Rum and Coke was involved.....)
I and HQ was inspired after wathing some episodes of "Trailer Park Boys"
(which I higly recomend to anyone here)

as they say in trailer park boys -Ricky -
"we are wathing the stuff in the thingie there" -meaning that the question what is made into a verb that means " checking out " or "answering the question of what by finding out "
na.
his typos are horrible- no defending that one .
I give up.
to get back to the fun stuff - his wounds
General Pain is definently the player who has sustained the worst damage during sessions .Over the years he has cut himself several times having to rush to see a doctor, fallen out of his seating arrangements ,stubbed his toe and bruised his knuckles in th ensuing rage ,burnt himself and had his house burnt about 25 % down -thank God for the insurance and his parents car crashed .(by another player -thankfully the General doesnt drive)
I guess I have forgotten some -but as he says -Rum and Coke has been involved.

well ,he did come back to finish his session a few hours later. It is incredible what kind of damage a 19.99 samurai blade can do though.

aye.
I always pack "a 9" when going to a FtF in case some of the boys decides to second guess a GM call. Those situations get ugly fast.
I kid.I kid..
Its a .45
