Well this must be incredibly embarrassing to the French intelligence agencies:

Damn that sounds like the kind of high level defection you only read about in Tom Clancy stories

This sort of thing must be a nightmare for the French and other Western intelligence agencies. The colour blind multi-cultural brigade classifies people like this as French, but in reality they are anything but and have no loyalties to France. And with Muslim fanatics the ethnic or national origin of someone is even more blurred as all they see is the Muslim world against everyone else. America has already had problems with American Muslim soldiers going mad and killing other American soldiers, and US citizens of Chinese origin working within the military industrial complex and passing on secrets to China. Luckily its still a rare occurrence but you can see the reasoning behind the interring of people such as Japanese-Americans in WW2 despite the distaste of having to do so.

So, um, which Muslims are the fanatics? Can you suggest a test to administer before hand?
Or, even though it is a rare occurrence, we should ban all Muslim-Americans from any government service (losing about 95% of our non-foreign hiree Arabic and Farsi translators, not to mention people with cultural insight)?

Actually its quite easy to test but it would be highly controversial - which would be a check of where they worship and what they look at on the internet.
With political correctness gone amok it would be probably impossible to put in place - but considering the acts of terror on US soil that have already occurred here I would be surprised if it isnt already happening

Forgive me for stating the obvious and being culturally insensitive! Next time the spirit in the sky tells them one of these fanatics to go out and kill people we all should be more understanding.
Would you like to tell me where I stated that all Muslims should be banned from any government service? And what has a special forces soldier expertly trained in demolitions and Western intelligence practices turning into a fanatic and running amok in the Middle East got to do with a law abiding foreign language translator?
You may not think your at war with the Muslim world, but many of them living in the Western world think their at war with us. Could you name me one Western country who's resident Muslim community is not plagued with Islamic extremists, or any other community by either nationality or religion that causes so much anxiety?
As I stated it must be a nightmare for all Western intelligence agencies because in liberal democracies they can't legally discriminate against people on the basis of their origins and religious beliefs.

This seems to be getting heated and as the original post says it is OT.
I don't see productive conversation emanating from it so I am locking it.
No real bad blood yet, but I don't want to go down that path.
