I have recently bough the Suvivors Guide to the UK and want to incorperate a campaign set in the UK but there seems to be a destinct lack of adventure for the UK. I would like other peoples advice and ideas about some mission that the group could be issued with.

I had an idea about trying to establish contact with and MI5 agent in the Duchy of Cornwall controleld part of Britain.
Any suggestion or comments would be appreciated.

Rainbow Six and James Langham, both forum members, have created an impressive array of UK-based resources, most of which can be found in the Forum Map. Take a look and I'm sure you'll find some good stuff.

Here is an idea I got from looking at Milweb

British Army is short of artillery and anti-tank weapons and finds out that there is one in the hands of a marauder band in working condition (fill in the appropriate location and band) - your party is sent to get it for the army and any rounds and spares they have for it as well - to either obtain the gun or destroy it as it is a legitimate threat to their few remaining armored vehicles in the UK

MOBAT L4 120mm Battalion Anti Tank gun

From the ad - "Possibly the most complete MOBAT available, with correct BAT sight, Deac Bren Spotter, fully working breech. Included are Manuals, Correct Tail Board, Manhandling T-Bar. Drill Round, Complete Rounds & Empty Brass Cases. Complete Rounds Storage Tubes, Remote/Emergency Firing Gear, Ranging Card. Spare wheel and tyre, Breech Brush, Camo Pole and Spreader.

This is a LIVE weapon held on a Section 1 FAC and as such you would need a Section 1 Firearms Certificate to purchase. It could be deactivated to current standards at cost.

The MOBAT is easily towed by a Land Rover, Austin Chap or any other vehicle with a NATO Tow Hitch. The gun weighs approx 740kg and is easily moved and hooked up by one man.

This is one of the rarest post war Artillery pieces with very few remaining.. This is also likely the only live MOBAT in private hands."

Thanks for the endorsement Rae.

Redrex, if you haven't come across it yet, my T2K website is here:

http://www.twilight2000files.com/

Whilst not exclusively devoted to the UK, there is, as Rae said, a fair collection of UK material including my own Alternative Survivor's Guide to the UK.

If you're looking for something on Cornwall I'd suggest looking here

http://www.twilight2000files.com/page38.html

http://www.twilight2000files.com/page71.html

http://www.twilight2000files.com/page84.html

If you're looking for more general stuff I'd suggest starting here

http://www.twilight2000files.com/article01.html

Or here

http://www.twilight2000files.com/page30.html

and navigating your way through the various sections:

If you look for the parts in boxed text in particular, they are generally intended to be adventure "seeds".

Bear in mind much of it differs from the published version

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the idea.
If it needed a vehicle to transport it and fuel would be in short supply would the maruders be bothered to move it? If the gun is a direct threat to the British army a castle of fort on a hil could be a good location for it what do you think?

Having it dug into a position commanding approaching roads would be a good idea - and you could be meeting with the MI-5 agent about the gun and how it needs to either be captured or dealt with before the British Army makes a move against the Duke

Using your guide I have a few question as the Duke has almost all of cornwall would Truro be the 'capital' of his kingdom. Second how could i implement the soviet PoW as the book says that they took St Austell but in your version the Duke would presumably have a high concentration of soldiers there to guard the Brewery. Quick google search has revealed that the only other brewery that would be around at the time in Duke owned land would be one called Sharp's. This being so how do you think i could incorporate the Soviets in to the campaign?

Yep, Truro is the de facto Capital; I have Rose splitting his time between RNAS Culdrose and Tregothnan House outside Truro (Culdrose serves as his military HQ, while Tregothnan House is his “residence”).

If you want to include former Soviet POW’s in significant numbers I’d suggest a couple of options (note iirc the canon Guide has the Soviet strength in the hundreds (I don’t have a book in front of me but 700 rings a bell – these suggestions probably wont work for that sort of number)

As bad guys you could incorporate former Soviet POW’s into Duke’s forces, either as reinforcements to the existing Brigades or as a complete unit (I think I did some work on a complete unit serving with the Duke’s forces some years ago but it never made it into the final Guide. I’ll see if I can find it, but it’s on an old laptop so it may take a while.

If you want them as good – or neutral – guys, you could have them in Exeter backing up the Exeter Defence Force, which could create some interesting tensions between the Exeter forces and the Soviets or you could put them in somewhere like Barnstaple or Taunton. You could even put some of them in Plymouth as part of the Government garrison.

Royal Ordnance Factory Nottingham, first opened in 1916 and first opened as an ROF January 1936 was one of a number of Royal Ordnance Factories created at the start of World War II

The sale of ROF Leeds to Vickers plc and closure of the Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF), Enfield, both had their effects on the site: RO Leeds, causing a considerable amount of vehicle and vehicle-related work to come to Nottingham; and RSAF Enfield, causing the Small Arms Facility in South Shop to be implemented.

By mid 1987, the South Shop has become disused and was in a semi-derelict condition. The building was remodelled and converted into the Nottingham Small Arms Facility (NSAF). A Small Arms proof and test range was built in what was once an air-raid shelter, and a tube test range installed.

Finally a building was specially constructed to house the MOD Small Arms Museum collection – known as the Pattern Room which iss a collection, or master set, of every weapon made at RSAF Enfield and ROF Nothingham

Sounds like a great place for an adventure, is it intake?

Nottingham was the target for a nuclear strike in canon so it may not have survived.

I think that a good location could be betweem Bude and Holsworth because its close prosimity to the Duke's land could be an opertunity for ther Players to try and pursude the Soviets to help Government force or The Duke.
I have also discovered a alternative power plant near there that uses manure food waste and the like to generate power. That I feel would be a strategic location for the rebuilding of the South West of England and both Playmouth and The Duke would want to incorperate it in to territory.
