I have been reading through this topic, online and in the rule book

So from I read for military promotions, a player was role a number equal or greater than the number specified on his career chart?

Based on this I was thinking that

a. If the member wants to apply for an OCS slot after promotion to Corporal (OR-4) then he would have roll three number higher than the normal promotion roll as this promotion is based merit

b. In addition to characters getting promoted at the beginning of the character last term (the war term) there should an additional roll for a Battlefield Promotion which’s happens at the end of war term. This would two points higher than normal promotion, as it would base on combat performance. A roll of three or more above the normal promotion number would be a Battlefield Commission for an NCO or higher position for an officer IE he or she is a Captain get promoted to Major and is given a CO’s job.

As an example lets look at the career path enlisted infantry for this path to get a promotion one must roll 6+, DM +1 if INT 7+

Scenario #1

The PC wants to apply for OCS, PC must roll an 8+ or if he has INT 7+ it’s a 7+

Scenario #2

Battlefield Promotion and Battlefield Commission

At the end of the war term the PC rolls for promotion.

If the PC rolls an 8+ or if they has INT 7+ it’s a 7+ they are given a Battlefield Promotion

If the PC rolls an 10 or if they has INT 7+ it’s a 9 they are given a Battlefield Commission
