An alternate method (https://therantingsavant.blogspot.com/2019/05/twilight-2000-character-creation_25.html) to determine the maximum starting Terms for a character in advance rather than during character creation.

I modify RAW by rolling a 1D6 for every term that isn't of a fixed duration (ie a 4-year college or 2-year Army enlistment). I justify this by saying sometimes you "do the daily grind day in and day out on autopilot" (for a roll of 6) to "you have an eventful term (for a roll of 1). Thus my ages can vary wildly just by introducing the D6 as a "randomizer."

I like that, I think I'll implement it for my future games.
