Need some backstory to explain why your Polish PC (or, if you GM, a Polish NPC) hates the Lublin communist regime, but don't want to go with the tried-and-true, yet somewhat cliche, "his/her family was imprisoned"? Well, here's an alternative- an Orange Alternative:

Or, for a little flavor, describe graffiti of dwarves in whatever Polish city your players happen to find themselves in. Once they know what it means, they can use that knowledge to find sympathetic civies or partisans. It's kind of like the Jesus fish of communist era Poland.
