One of my players is role-playing to the hilt the archetypal 1 man army. He originally was using an M60 but has moved up to the PK (thanks to the RoF in the original rules which I use) however now he is looking for better.

He had visions of being Blain from Predator but my research on the minigun convinced him he couldnt use one unmounted, the only side-grade I can find is an http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS-77 I dont know whether the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecheneg_machine_gun existed.

Anyone know more about a portable 1 man weapon/mg my player would love? (the charachter has the firearms knowledge - but us Brits dont :p)

Finnish M/28 rifle and Suomi M-31 SMG. If a farmer-turned sniper could kill over 700 Russians in 100 days with these weapons, so can the PC ;)

It's just starting, but the Russians are now issuing the Pechneg as the standard GPMG, and expect to have the PK and PKM replaced by 2012. Of course that depends on the Russian economy...In the T2K timeline, the Pechneg would be quite rare.

He could always got the grenade launcher route - there's a couple of revolver types out there that pack a hell of a punch.

I always liked the idea of the Ultimax LMG/SAW. Having been designed for the Singapore army its fairly neat and handy, takes a 100 round drum and even has a suppressor availiable.
