NVA was the East German response to the creation of Bundeswehr (West German Army).

This is from a book I bught many years ago.

Luftstreitkräfte der NVA (Air Forces of the NVA).

It lists every aircraft in inventory at the 30/9 1990 witch I figure it’s the last day they counted everything since both Germanys reunited shortly after.



The following numbers should be read as follows.

Name on plane followed by Nato code .Total Number/ Number available at 30/9 1990

Every time I see "NVA" I think "North Vietnamese Army." I guess it comes from having both a father and stepfather who are Vietnam Vets.
