Originally from Tien An Men. Could be T2K
(Edit removed one picture as I felt it had too much gore. I had established a precedent on this so it is only fair. Kato13) |

Here is my first attempt at something post apoc. http://games.juhlin.com/images/forum/ChicagoStreet.jpg It still needs work IMO (more garbage?), but in general I am prone to overworking my art so I decided to put this out there once I hit my self set time limit. Original is here http://elbalsero.net/ChicagoStreet.JPG |
cool
yeah -more garbage -but pretty cool imo.
keep em coming ! |
haha
put some debris and maybe a couple of bodies or stray dogs...or perhaps some kind of symbolic painting (in blood red color) to add to the mood . a more depressing weather couled be an ide or even an airplane stuck in one of the skyscrapers...
but all in all nice touch... keep em coming... I myself haven't had so much time left for desing-work lately..just got to know a real sexy dubstep-dj-girl - and she is a lot more tempting than the keyboards on my computers.... ( I had to edit this post mentally a couple of times...now that we have a female member....;)) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubstep |

The first thing I thought was get rid of those damn flags!
The second was "is this place supposed to have been nuked?" Where's all the damage? The rubble? The scorching and blasted skeletons? |
Quote:
As I have said in earlier threads Chicago would have been spared in the initial strikes. The nearest nuke strike was over 25km away. This area of the city (central downtown) was not even exposed to .1 psi of overpressure (not nearly enough to break the windows). I did add soot to most buildings as I expected there to be nearby fires. The flags are torn (that took me like 30 min), it is just hard to see at that size. I am going for 3 years after TDM (2001). I have seen abandoned flags that are 5 years old with no damage. I am going to add more clutter as I have time (maybe 45 min per weekend), but adding new elements is much harder to make realistic that removing or transforming existing ones. |
The vehicles could do with some work too. They look a bit too polished. Better check on what models were available at the time as well - I've a feeling a couple of them are post nuke production.
