You just had to show that -- it's a sore point with me. It was in one of the two boxed that the Army lost when shipping my goods home after I retired. The boxes primarily contained books; they gave me a lousy $50 to compensate my loss -- it would take more like $2000 to replace all of it! But I didn't have a detailed list of every single item, every book and game title that was in each one of those boxes.

:(

word! There is only one version of D and D...1st edition.

Remember the thrill of having your first character ever to reach second level? You felt like you just conquered the world. That was back when getting out of 1st level was hard.

Same here but Twilight 2000 is my first and only. It must be true love.

Man that brings back a lot of memories.....

Back in the day when swash would be buckled...

When men were men and we acted like men....(Burb, belch, pizza being eaten, beer being swilled)

Now I have GOT to find where the frick frack I stored my old D&D....I have not seen it in MANY a day....but it's here....somewhere....(Frantic opening of boxes, rusling of papers, storage shed being gone through....)

Maybe the thread title should read, "Lost Battle with Twilight 2K -- Wife Must go by May 1."

Agreed. Well AD&D anyways. The original Basic/Expert/Masters etc was what I played first but then along came AD&D where RACE AND CLASS WERE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!!! I never looked back.

I guess I'm lucky in that I managed to find a significant other willing to tolerate (if not outright participate in) my nerdity. We spent all weekend together geeking out @ WonderCon. I guess it helps that she was an animation and illustration major. The only time it really causes any friction is when my teetering piles of crap escape the den and spread to the bedroom, dining room, or living room - usually when I'm working on something "big" that requires lots of reference materials. I only get away with a couple days of that before she's warming up the shredder.

javvellan -the offer

That might have come across as a bit rude demanding proof etc .Just that nobody likes to be taken for a fool, ey ?

Your way of doing it sounds great ,but I wish you would send me a ball park figure on what you want for the 2nd ed stuff -by PM if you would.Or post here -maybe it will incite a bidding war ( with katos blessing if so should be given ).

As for my own thrustworthyness -
I give you my word as an officer and a gentleman.

PMs or email are probably best. International shipping might increase complication and expense so the highest bid might not actually make the most financial sense. Heck if someone is in the neighborhood he might take half the offer just to get it over and done with.

A private decision on these types of issues might prevent someone from feeling unfairly treated.

My wife knows about my RPG books. I know about her craft books. She has her hobby, I have mine. Ain't no way she tells me about my books. Ain't no way I tell her about her books. (After all, I DO want to see tomorrow. :p )

Did you have a price in mind? First one that mentions the "Price is Right" number is the winner? Or is this going to be a bidding war amongst the denizens of the site?

No, I'm not into bidding wars - that's ebay. I just want the stuff off my hands and to be reimbursed for a decent price close to original cost. First good price gets the stuff.

Example: one of the guys on the Acaeum forum paid me .94 on the original dollar plus shipping (e.g., if a module cost $10 originally, he paid me $9.40 + shipping). To me, that's better than the dumpster and it makes it worth my time to package up and take to the post office, stand in line, etc., and hope I get paid. So, away went the stuff.

Guys, I do question this, as this gent has one post. We often get similiar stories at the yahoo discussion site. I'd rather they just said they were a dealer straight up.

*sigh* Google search, term "Twilight 2000 forum," this forum pops up in top 3.

As to me being a dealer.... As I said, I'll send you the stuff first - then you pay if you like, return if you don't. Find me a dealer anywhere on planet Earth with terms like that. Just one.

Well, the minimum I think to make my time to do the packaging, etc., is .86 on the original cost plus shipping (so far I've pretty much used the priority mail boxes because they're the easiest for me). I'm assuming something around $25+shipping for those 3 is fair. If you know better, let me know.

And no, I don't have the Armies of Night one - never heard of it.

Hey, that's me! Like I said yesterday, I had good luck with that so I figured I'd post here. And yes, all the folks who already got all the *good* stuff (according to them), will definitely tell you I'm no dealer.

I can tell you who the dealers are there, though.....
