man, this makes me want to finish up some of the many that I started a while ago. Just need to find the time.

I just got the M48A5K from the UPS man. It's a nice kit! Not much to show yet, I need to wash all the parts in warm, soapy water to remove any mold lubricants that might prevent paint from sticking.
I'm planning a diorama showing the tank with a patrol from the 101st Air Assault somewhere in Iran circa 2000. I'm planning on a paint scheme similar to the "Iran" scheme shown in the original US Army Vehicle Guide. |
I use 15mm stuff from Peter Pig and Irregular Miniatures.

I just wanted this thread not to be forgotten!
Has anyone some newer pictures (or older ones, if you like)? I'd really like to see pics of T2k related minis or dios. Hey, Dave, anything new from your M48-project? And, Nate, have you ever made photos of some of the "big boys"? Right now I'm working on some WH 40k Space Marines - the planned Hummer-diorama had to be delayed. But I'm really looking forward to it:). |
I've done injustice and injury to a couple of Empress figures recently:

Well, here's some really bad photos of my version of the Wisla Krolowa in 1/72 during the in process stage:

BT, those figures look great. I build 1/35 scale models quite a bit. usually WWII. I do fairly well with weathering the vehicles but the figures , I just can't seem to get them to look realistic. Any advice or websites you can give me? The camo design and colors look perfect. You even have fingernails on them. How did you get the burlap camo on the helmets?

@ Weswood:
Hey, that's cool. Building a ship to play an adventure with ... I like it :) @ Tegyrius: Your doing injustice to yourself :) Those minis are looking very good! @ Odie: Thanks a lot, mate! Your vehicles look stunning! You have to do a more "twilightian" model. The Burlap: Tissue paper and diluted PVA glue does the job. I paint the burlap before glueing the helmet to the model. And for the rest: It's a question of practice and a lot of tips and ideas from hobby magazines, unfortunately all in German. There is an excellent book on miniature painting and building by Bill Horan. I've lended it to a friend, so I have no title or ISBN and so forth, but I'll send you the info, when I've talked to him. Found it: Bill Horan's Military Modelling Masterclass, Hardcover: 128 pages Publisher: Windrow & Greene Publishing (August 1, 1994) Language: English ISBN-10: 1872004091 ISBN-13: 978-1872004099 Product Dimensions: 11.9 x 8.3 x 0.8 inches |
As we have some new members on the board I thought, I give this thread a reissue.
Does anybody like to post some stuff here? |
I'm just back into modelling after a fifteen year break...currently nearly finished a Hasegawa 1/48th Polish F16 two seater (decals done, just need to apply a wash and varnish). Will post when it's done, but be gentle with me...:D
Next after that is either than an F18F Super Hornet (VFA103 Jolly Rogers) or F16C Alaska Aggressor (yes, I'm into fast jet kits) |
If I could go back in time and smack myself in the head repeatedly I'd buy up every "Pinnacle Products" GI Assault Team that was on sale at KB Toys for $2.88 (clearance) years and years and years ago (like, more than 20). It was a boxed set of 10 kind of "generic" modern/near future soldier types. Only the "soldier with rocket pack in flight" mini wouldn't work for T2k. The rest were pretty slick. It was actually a Grenadier product so I wonder if they re-used some actually FOR T2k when they released minis for the game.
I have one-and-a-half sets; I traded 5 of them for the paint job I got for the other 5. The minis are: RPG (or AT-4) gunner, M60 gunner, SMG gunner, sniper, grenadier, officer with sidearm, trooper with jetpack, mortar on mono-pod, mortar man, small-caliber AA gun with radar fi-con attached. Some of the troops wear berets, the others "fritz" style helmets. Not sure who sculpted them. They're a motley bunch and the nondescript weapons fit the atmosphere of "Any gun that shoots is a good gun" of T2k. I lucked into a set at NobleKnight but haven't seen any since. They're nice figs. If I remember to once I start to paint them I'll post them up. |
I recently dug up my 1/72 (aka 20mm) collection of figs. I have the original T2k minis, all of them, I think, plus some Airfix plastic Soviets and US troops, and some other military guys.
I painted up (a long time ago) an M1, an M113 and an M551 (pretend it's a LAV-75) for my original 1985 group. I don't suppose anyone's seen a model of an M8 in that scale? Or a Scorpion? That would be cool. |
World war II M08 Greyhound armoured Car is by Italeri in both 1/72 and 1/35 of a couple of years ago.
However, nice going mate, I can't remember what box my models are in. |
