On the side of the road.
Little pre-made instances to make as an encounter or as scenery between villages.
Hunting Camps, open market, farmers market, Hunter / Gatherer camp. A farmers homestead, refugees in tents, an abandoned business, a herd of domesticated animals, etc. |

Excellent little teasers from one scenario to another!
AS a team rolls over the near by hill, the CO gets a glimpse of one of these roadside markets in the valley below. Park the vehicle, get the first contact specialist ready. Typical orders to FCS and the rest of the team. "Smith, we have some folks about a klick (direction) from here that have set up a (name your favorite fruit, veggie, fish) stand. Go see what you can trade for. Keep your mike open, and your wits about you. Jones, you have overwatch with the M-14. Sparks, make sure there are no stray emissions. Let me know yesterday if the ether has more than a fly buzz on it. The rest of you, rotating sentry duty. I'll take first watch. XO, you have second watch. Carry on" |

I was looking for some primitive camp photos..... and stumbled on this story from a russian outdoorsman / hunter / trapper.
Some very clever skills this man has. http://translate.google.com/translat...D42267&act=url |
In a similar vein, this guy builds primitive huts using only primitive tools. Not sure where he lives and builds these, but I here in Michigan we would use very different techniques.

Not that this kind of thing would happen in a game, but since I do live in an area near Amish communities it kind of fun to see this happen.
