Technicals in T2k

I thought we had a thread dedicated to technicals, but the closest I could come up with from a couple of searches was this fascinated thread dedicated to gun trucks:

https://forum.juhlin.com/showthread....ght=technicals

Added this to my library at least a year ago but, somehow, I guess it didn't prompt a dedicated thread. It's time to remedy that.

Since v1 came out, techicals have become a fixture of wars around the world. 4e even included an illustration of a technical at the beginning of the vehicles section. Although technicals seem to feature more in "low intensity" conflicts in the third world, they've made several appearances in the recent fighting in Ukraine.

Behold this converted Soviet-era Volga sedan into a technical armed with a remote-controlled KPV HMG/light canon.

One of the chapters in the book is apparently titled: "Pimp my Hilux: Special Operations Forces Pick-ups"

Does this count? A Russian UMZ mine-layer in the bed of a civilian model pickup truck, somewhere in Ukraine.

Nice Finds

Thanks, Brit. I'd posted the link to the Soviet gun trucks article upthread a ways but the Soviet acronyms site is new here. I'm going to add it to the Tips, Tricks, & Resources sticky.

I had the Soviet vehicle site saved... now I cannot remember if I found it myself by looking for 'Technical' or 'Guntruck' sites... or had saved you link and forgot that!
