What's interesting is that he talks about being able to make phone calls home out of the LCC and getting TV signals, etc.

I can't surmise having to sit in there, waiting the 20-30 minutes for the end of the world, able to talk on the phone with loved ones. Comforting or horrifying, I'm not sure which it'd be.
