Twilight: 2013 for free

I thought I would post this over here for those that don't cross populate...;)

I've posted Stage I rules finally.

This is the Stage I ruleset for Twilight: 2013. It includes everything you need to get started fighting WWIII in Europe using Stage I rules. This does include a little background on the current state of Europe as well as life in general in 2013.

Stage I
Basic. Stage I rules are the minimum necessary to numerically define a character and play a fast-running game. Stage I rules tend to boil fairly complicated events down to simple abstractions. This level of complexity is recommended for introducing novice players to the Reflex System and the world of Twilight: 2013.

To get it for free you need to use the following link - http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?discount=84396

Thanks Smoke... its a great system folks!

You posted at just the right time. After some some months away from T2K i've started to do some readings around it again. I'm really interested to see and read the PDF, i note its 45 pages long. I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe after a read i'll post some thoughts. Did PaulM ever write anything up?

Since its free, does that mean this is more like a teaser, and there is not enough material here to play through a small encounter?

If you're focusing on the action rather than the downtime, there should be enough there to get you through a short story arc. As Keith said, it is the Stage I rules; as such, they're somewhat simplified compared to the core book or either of the previous editions. But they should give you a general feel for how the mechanics flow.

I am more interested in rules. Especially this reflex system ...

Pfc SAFU 07-21-2009 11:42 AM

Question

Is this a teaser, or rulset? I have got mixed reviews on V3 Im a V1 diehard. hmmmmmmmm.....

smokewolf 07-21-2009 12:02 PM

Both.

There is a "teaser" background section giving you a short overview of central europe of 2013.

But the rules system is the complete Stage I rules. The Reflex system is broken down into three stages to fit different playing styles. Each stage builds on the previous one and the rules for each are completely interchangeable. Stage I rules are a very rules lit system. Stage II is the default style of play and is comparable in depth and difficulty to other systems. Stage III is a detailed rules system, including rules enhanced rules for things such as caloric intake, physical build, etc.

There are no extensive number crunching at this stage. But these rules form the basis for Stage II and Stage III. So if you started here you don't have to relearn a new system just add the Stage II and III rules you like as you progress.

Download it, it's free - I love the new system. It takes a bit of getting used to - I wish the chargen section was a little better laid out, but once you go through it, it's easy and fun. I love V1 myself, but 2013 is what I'll play from now on should I ever be able to get a group going again :)

The first part of that made me smile, but then the second part made me reach for the mind bleach. :p

There is an error message on the link. Not sure if this was a time limited offer. (this is not for me but was mentioned by another member)

Here is a chart I made to help with a potential online character creation program. Since the character generation kinda jumps around pages it might be useful.

 You make it seem complicated or something. Everyone has advanced degrees in astrophysics, right?

It isn't really more complicated than V1 or V2. I just like flow charts and it helps to find the proper pages.

Yeah, the organization was the best I could get it. I might take some time and come out with something later that better organizes things.

I dunno if you are interested as I'm in Australia and my city is likely to be a tiny market for T:2013 but I bought my hardcopy through a Perth city store called Tactics.

Cdnwolf 07-22-2009 05:22 PM

I used a company called Boardgames.ca... never heard of them before but they were quick and Canadian...
