That Remington is a gorgeous gun. I prefer my handguns blued, but I must admit that the Remington is beautiful.

the Bergmann Bayard ( or Mars as it is also called I think ) is a personal favourite .It looks cool,the grips look good and it has a serious caliber .

The Danes made their Bergmanns come with slightly bigger grips and a 10 round mag .

If I could get me one of those....

I do love the "proto-autos" in all their steam punkish splendour.

In real life I have to admit - I see why the wars back in the day took so many years even thoug the enemy was in plain sight 90 % of the time .The early automatics are like a puzzle with 23 finicky metal pieces that all must fit together just so- or it is all ruined.Now,doing that at night in a muddy trench while rounds impact around you and a human wave attack is rapidly closing on your position seems a bit akward .

A Glock has 4 parts when field stripped- even if you never saw one before you could sort of get it back together in a hurry if you had to .

One of the most powerful pistols in the world, and great for P/A characters, as you can reload ammo from cut-down 7.62 Nato barss and .44 revolver bullets. It's finicky about it's ammo, and you need to keep your magazines in good shape, though.

But it's just so damned SEXY. Clint Eastwood used one in Sudden Impact, and Birgitte Nielson used one in Beverly Hills Cop 2. Mack Bolan used one for over 100 novels.

Lol, I remember seeing a cover of a Mack Bolan comic book that had him with the .44 Automag on it. The one in Sudden Impact used by Clint Eastwood had a longer barrel then they where typically offered in, most likely to look bigger and meaner.(typical 80's):D The gun that Birgitte Nielson had in Beverly Hills Cop 2 was not a .44 Automag at all though.
She used a Desert Eagle in the film, even though it was supposed to be the Automag. They must have been cutting corners to get the film done. I mean if they were gonna make the rareness of the .44 automag a big part of the storyline, they could of atleast got the right gun.:rolleyes: They could have atleast used a Wildey, it looks more like the Automag then the Desert Eagle.:(

Well, if you're firing .25 ACP, you might want 18 rounds -- it's a more anemic round than even .22 Long Rifle.

When I was stationed at Laughlin AFB in West Texas in 1975, we had a man come into in emergency room. He had been shot in the chest 6 times at close range with a .25. The ER doc removed them with a pair of twezers.

My brother and I shot a ammo can with his .25 ACP and all it did was put dents in it.:D

Well, I just DLed BHC2 and found the .44 Automag in the movie. Gitte did not use it, true. It was used by the hitter in the black Camaro when "President Ford" left the night club. It's clearly visible, and very distinctive.

I was just about to post a screencap of the same scene with the Automag, but you beat me to it... It's a much more elegant gun than the Desert Eagle, I think...

In it's own way it's alot less user friendly than the Desert Eagle to boot. I ran across a Pasadina Automag at my local gun store once and Even though I find the Desert Eagle Uncomfortable, the Automag was worse in alot of ways. Grip felt really funky and the bore seemed to sit way too high among other things.

sad to hear that ( being a gun nut and all ) -I always liked the automags due to their cool design and reported ballistic capabilities.I had hoped that they had good ergonomics and handled well.

In Norway you will go a lifetime without ever seeing one so I guess I have to go over there to check it out .

I just got a brand new Gen 3 Glock 19 (it was a good deal). If I can figure out how to post a pic, I'll do it.

The 19 is about the optimum Glock out there, in my opinion -- nobody ever has anything to grumble about with 9mm Glocks, it's a great compromise between a full-size/duty pistol and a concealed carry pistol, and just nice to shoot.

Trust me as someone who works on the IMFDB the film armorers feel the same way you do when some 20 something from outside the industry does the exact same thing.
