I thought I would try to start a thread where everybody could post links or other resources that might aid/enhance GMing .

I was thinking along the lines of sound fx,image databases,maps etc

Naturally -if you are a player only you shouldnt be perusing these to much.

I would suggest "Google Earth" as that is a terrific resource as a GM for my pending game.

Vehicles and soldiers ready to be printed. See the "Modern" category for T2K. You will also find useful figures in the "Top-Down" category.

If anyone has played "Command Decision" and has been forced to use paper or cardboard counters insted of plastic or metal figures, he will understand my happiness when I discovered this site.

Bark at the Moon
 

For that extra little dose of realism, this site gives you the phases of the moon for any day, any month, any year. One of my players found this for me.

The link will take you to October of 2000 since that's when my campaign is set. Just type in the date you need and presto!

You can also find the time for sunrise and/or sunset for just about anywhere in the world on the same site but this feature a bit trickier to use.

but they can only get them to shoot a small projectile a few feet..principle is sound though its the power transmission that is tricky..aahh what we couldnt do with a pair of good superconductors and a high energy fuel cell...

It says in the description of components that the weapon's pre-accelerator coil for chambering the projectile uses an ultra capacitor. I mentioned ultra capacitors in another thread recently. The ProPulse system used in the HEMTT-A3 hybrid vehicle also uses ultra capacitors, amazing piece of tech, far superior to any kind of batteries currently available.

As for high tech weapon designs, check out this concept weapon. I believe I mentioned it once on the old forum.
