Wolf,

Here are all the ARNG Major Units, early 90's before the drawdown. Let me know if you need further info.

That's a great resource Louied, where did you find that?

Louied 10-08-2020 07:23 AM

RN7,

I tried to upload it last night, no luck. I will try again today. I have numerous notes on the ARNG in the late 80痴. If everyone wants I値l post also.

Olefin 10-08-2020 11:21 AM

Yes please do so - what you posted already is invaluable for those who are trying to write for the game. Many of the units you mentioned were either not mentioned in the US Army Sourcebook or were mentioned in Challenge articles - i.e. the ARNG 112th Medical Brigade that is referenced in "The Lima Incident" from Challenge 56 for instance

Guys,
I have no idea what I知 doing wrong but I can稚 get anything to upload on here.
I知 going to drop it all in my google drive account and then post the link here tonight if that good with everyone ?
I will list the documents I知 putting up too.

Just a small note: the ARNG division in Texas, currently flagged 36th Infantry, would have still been flagged 49th AD in the Twilight War.

Yes it was but as of the ARNG reorganization of 1988 Texas was looking to reform the 36th ID (still keeping the 49th AD) by the mid-90’s (as a Mech Div). Oregon also had a future (mid-90’s)plan to reform the 41st ID in the NorthWest. I’ll be posting those docs tonight.

That's the official 1986 Forces Command unit list, which is broken down to company/detachment (platoon) size if you have the patience to try to tie them all together!

One of my all-time top scores of obsolescent items intercepted on their way to the trash!!!

thank you for this copy as I can zoom in easier. We have been lucky as one of the guys we play call of duty with is a 30 year member in the us army and serve specifically in the area we are writing up a campaign for. Bonus he and his military friends played twilight 2000 for years. He has been giving us lots of detailed information for the region based on there own experience in the area that they incorporated into there own twilight world. However my brother is in charge of writing up the material for this area of the pacific northwest so once he has GM me thru the area with my character I will ask if we can share this info with you.

Anybody got a breakdown of the various battalions/regiments within these forces?

I know once upon a time it was 1-100 numerical designation was Big/Regular Army, 101-300 National Guard, 301- onward was National Army (during WW1) which finally became the Army Reserve. And over time untis that were reroled from infantry to armor to artillery, etc etc (needs of the nation, ya know) largely kept their numerical designations.... or not. It's weird seeing a unit based upon their numbers that should be an old active Army battalion/regiment is an actual reserve component unit and units organic to the 82nd and 10st Airborne Divisions reflect their WW1 National Guard and what would become Army Reserve heritage.

IIRC while all the combat divisions of the Army Reserve disappeared during 60s courtesy of Edsel Bob McNamara, there were four (and later pruned down to 3) combat brigades; 157th Infantry Brigade (Mech) (Sep), 187th Infantry Brigade, and 205th Infantry Brigade (Light)
