Slightly OT: Night Attacks

Does anyone have or know anyone who has the Japanese classic Night Attacks in English?

I know of this particular article, is it the one you were thinking of?

A good article. I'm thinking of a book written by the Japanese prior to the start of WW2 and perhaps prior to the start of WW1. The article suggests that the Japanese conduct their business at night in response to Allied air power. While night hides movements from the air, the Japanese Army started using night operations after the machine gun made its appearance. They rightly surmised that machine guns would make massed attacks very expensive, the whole banzai thing notwithstanding.

I'm interested in a number of specifics regarding recce, route planning and marking, movement to the jump-off point of the attack, communications at night, maintaining orientation, and the like. Having participated in a few night ops that could have gone very badly wrong, I'm curious to know just how dedicated practitioners before night vision and troops in 2000 will conduct night operations. Machine guns, minefields, and long-range rifle fire will continue to offer a huge challenge to attacking infantry in 2000.
